The detective's face paled, flashes of the part of the nightmare coming back briefly and him pushing it away.

"The beach, the tide is blood that comes in and soaks the ground." Jeremiah raked a hand through his hair. "Much like what she showed me." A snort. "There's other parts where I'm in town but ..." He took a deep breath. "It's not right. It's empty and it's raining." Blue-green eyes focused on Aleksy. "I feel like I can't trust the shadows because there's something out there in them."

Never mind that he had woken up with the sensation of rain falling on his skin. It had taken hours for the feeling to go away. A hot shower had not even helped.

Okay, so... that was definitely an Ashdown dream. "Keep track of anything not Sunny-related and odd that happens to you," Aleksy instructed. "Because not knowing what your power is can get you injured."

Jeremiah blinked.

Sighed.

Rubbed a hand across his face and growled. There was a sodden piece of newsprint on the table and he snatched it up. Frustration was clear as he bawled it up and then chunked it towards the waste basket. Not that it actually went in. His aim was a little too high, the ball of sodden paper teetering on the edge of a work table.

Until a flower from an unfinished bouquet choose that moment to finish coming loose from it's brethren. It rolled and nudged the ball, making it stop teetering and fall into the waste basket. "I honestly have been since I've seen her." Jeremiah huffed, glancing back to Aleksy. "I'll have to be careful until I figure it out, I suppose." Was it a guaranteed thing? It seemed like it with the way that Aleksy talked about it.

Algie was having normal dreams, so far as he knew. Nothing like his own. Never mind the conversation later. Hey, Alg, so not only did Sunny give me nightmares but she might have gave me some crazy power.

He legitimately might have been too old for this bullshit.

"Keep at it," sighed Aleksy. "Not everything can be as obvious as pouring coffee from the empty pot." If only it could be, though...

He sighed again. "Anything else?"

"Not at the moment," Jeremiah was frowning again, reaching for his notebook and reading over notes. Even just a week ago everything was decidedly normal but that was not the case anymore.

"Something will have to be done eventually. If those kids are still alive they need to be brought home." The notebook was flipped shut, Jeremiah looking up at Aleksy.

"Something will be done," said Aleksy. "We're going to get a summer storm sometime in the next few weeks. Sunny says that that's when the kids can be found."

A summer storm. In March. "After three days of fog, she said."

"Then the rain. I'll see it for true." Jeremiah paused. "We all will." He pushed himself up from the chair. "If I've got any other questions, I'll come by. See if I can figure out this entire power thing."

Still so goddamn weird but he did not doubt. He believed. Aleksy was another honest man, someone he had no expectations of lies or bullshit. It was reassuring. "Avoid Sunny as well. At least until she decides to call in her chip." He raked a hand through his hair and inclined his head towards the other man as he headed out.

"I'll take that calla lily with me if you don't mind." A pause, a moment later. "Thanks, Aleksy." Another moment and the detective was gone from the flower shop, more questions on his mind and even less answers.
