Sam, sure he had been caught, quickly looked away down the beach and then back to her. His mind turned quickly, trying to figure out what they were going to do, where they were going to take shelter, for the night. He himself had planned on sleeping in the open but he didn't want to leave her exposed to the elements no matter how tough of a mare she was. A mare was still a mare and deserved more careful consideration than himself. As a matter of fact if it had been any other Uni at all he still would have considered finding shelter. Finally deciding what they were going to do he gave himself an internal nod and smiled at her. "I know of a place we can take shelter for the night. But first we must take a nice moonlit stroll up the beach. I hope you don't mind." He smiled at the little joke of how a sandy stroll could even compare to the rough trails they had been on all afternoon. He turned to stroll north along the waterline, brushing his shoulder against her as he passed, his hooves at the edge of the surf and occasional stray wave wetting him up to the ankles.

"A walk in the sand sounds lovely" she said with a smirk. She sidled up closer to Sam and as he brushed her with his shoulder she felt a jolt go through her like lightning exhilarating and warm, she blushed thinking to herself how odd it was to blush and that Sam could be trouble for her, very intense trouble, and she was excited to find out exactly what kind of trouble he would be.. She walked out a little farther in the water and looked at him with a mischievous grin and asked "how about a moonlight swim?"

He stopped and considered her for the space of a breath before feeling an answering grin light his face. It was hard not to be affected by her enthusiasm. Especially with the intoxicating evening. The way the almost muggy air swirled around with a weight that was almost caressing. The murmur of the ocean waves a seductive whisper. As another wave caught his ankles it seemed to feel like gentle fingers beckoning him into their depths. The sudden romantic mood that had overtaken him turned her into a beckoning siren of the sea. He felt his skin twitching all over as if testing the hold of the spell woven by sand, sea, and twilight. He lowered his head slightly from its usual proud carriage and answered her in a soft voice. "Why I do believe that is a lovely idea." He turned toward her and made his way into the surf, nonchalantly brushing by her again, craving the hint of touch. He was a bit taken aback by himself. These last several minutes were very uncharacteristic of him but he just could not seem to stop himself. Something about this mare was slowly pushing itself past his normal barriers, allowing him to relax his guard. He broke into a trot reveling in the feeling of the waves rising to meet his strong chest.Enjoying the feeling of them breaking on and around him without even disturbing his steadiness. He discreetly glanced back, just enough to know that she was watching, and gathered himself to bound forward several strides before lifting his legs and letting himself land belly first in the next wave. Allowing it to pull him under and roll him before resurfacing to toss his wet mane from his eyes with a self-satisfied smirk.

Delilah felt her grin get even wider as she thought to herself how very handsome Sam looked especially as he grinned at her, the moonlight hitting his mane in such a way she would never be able to describe. He was so elegant but she could sense something wild within that intrigued her even more. As he made his way into the waves she felt that surge of lightning once more as he brushed lightly against her. She watched him trot farther into the depths admiring him for a moment, and blushing a tad when he caught her staring, then laughed as he threw himself so freely into the sea. She raced forward and flung herself in after, swimming under the depths a few moments before resurfacing alongside and just a little behind him and shaking out her mane close enough to playfully spray him just a bit. She took a moment to appreciate the beauty of her surroundings, noticing the stars bright and glistening above her, reflecting as smaller and more blurred together twinkles in the waves, finally she looked again at Sam, and her breath caught just for a second. He looked almost as if he were glowing, the moon and starlight shined off his damp mane and fur as if he were just another part of it. She thought she could live a million years and likely never see another stallion that beautiful.

He watched entranced and amused as she followed his lead and freely threw herself to ocean. He let the motion of the waves gently sway him, allowing him to feel weightless and unbound. When she surfaced and sprayed water in his face with her mane he laughed out loud, blinking salty water from his eyes. He enjoyed seeing her take in the beauty of the ocean around them. It wasn't necessarily rare for other to notice beauty. It was just nice to see someone enjoy it to the same extent that he himself did. It was a rather entrancing night. Especially with how bright the moon was. The light from it cut through the crystal water and made dancing reflections on the sand blow them. Their bodies left shifting shadows in the dance of light and he was amused to see their shadows briefly touching every time a wave gently moved them. He swam around her in a close circle, half watching her and half watching their shadows. As he came full circle he playfully nudged water at her, splashing her back.

She watched Sam as he swam in circles around her reminding her a bit of a shark though not in a scary way. Noticing that he was glancing down she followed suit to see their shadows ebbing and flowing together, it was a nice thing to see, she thought, and as the thought passed through her mind he nudged a bit of water at her she laughed and splashed him back playfully, although to be honest it was a bigger splash than she had actually intended.

Sam sputtered as the wave of water caught him full in the face. He took a moment to blink the water out of his eyes so he could stare at her with an unreadable expression. After a tense moment of holding her eyes he splashed her back with an equally large wave of water. He laughed aloud. It had been a while since he had indulges in something so frivolous as a water fight. When they were younger he and Mollie had played quite a bit but as she took the responsibility of Glory leader they fell out of the habit. He himself had become more responsible taking on the mantle of being her emissary. It seemed as though there was something in this mare that once again stirred a younger and wilder part of him. He plunged himself under the surface of the water to avoid any splash she might send back his way and swam a little distance away before resurfacing to grin in her direction.

Delilah was so distracted by Sams suddenly blank expression that she had no time to try to doge the wave that came her way so she braced herself an let it hit her straight on laughing and sputtering aiming a splash his way only to find he wasn't there anymore. Slightly surprised she looked around to find where he had gone and found him smiling at her not too far away. Delilah thought to herself about all her years of wandering alone meeting other mares or stallions but none that ever really cared for her, nor she for them really. She thought of them now and how not one of them ever made her feel at ease or free enough to have fun like Sam. It dawned on her then that she never could really connect with anyone. Most of the others always thought her odd or standoffish, which she supposed, she was usually. But something was definitely different with this gorgeous golden stallion. She smiled a full grin back and said "you know Sam, I can't remember the last time I had this much fun. I'm rather glad our paths crossed."
