She was relieved that he looked so excited, but didn't expect anything less from him.
"Thank you, and yeah, it is.", she nodded with a friendly smile. She lead him down the steps this time, in light of getting some exercise, then to the back entrance which lead to a patio and in-ground pool. The air was still warm, with a cool breeze rolling in every few moments. It was bright, and only a few clouds were hovering in the sky. Past the pool, stretched out a clear landscape of flat fields and rolling hills, and even further away, untamed woodlands. There was a concrete path, large enough to fit a golf cart, that trailed the edge of the property and disappeared into the woods.

"I like blue," he offered idly, half to himself, since she hadn't asked, and then said nothing more till they were outside... soundly landing his 'starting conversations with girls' skill roughly in the kindergartner boy level. Not like he was trying very hard, though; and the moment they got outside, he was distracted by something arguably more exciting than the young lady.
Sorry.
"You have a pool," he enunciated suddenly, the moment he laid eyes on it, somehow able to look ecstatic without cracking a smile at all, as if doing so would detract from the gravity of just how awesome that was.
"-- and a forest? Do you own a forest? Holy cow."
It was great being outside. It was peacefully quiet and relaxed, and he could hear the water of the cyan blue pool lapping invitingly. Shortage of spare clothes or not, the urge to sprint for it was something fierce.

Hannah giggled at his intensity. He was like a child. It was good to know that simple things like nature was enough to brighten his day.
"Yeah, I have a pool, and the forest--well, part of it.", she corrected herself. "I own a good portion of it. That's where the trail is." The woodlands that she owned was large enough to get lost in. It definitely wasn't somewhere Hannah would venture around in by herself.
She put the sunhat atop her head, shielding her eyes from the brightness.
"Shall we?"

"Uh, yeah," he agreed brightly, trotting down a few steps towards the path before pausing short.
"Oh hey, hang on," he considered, twisting to look back up at her. "I'm supposed to be practicing how to be a gentleman, right?"
He gave her a cheeky, innocent little grin, before offering an arm, dark hazel eyes twinkling.

Hannah was happy to let him lead and stay a pace or two ahead. If he wanted to hang back and talk with her then he would. She was actually a bit thrown off when he turned back, flashing that smile at her and offering his arm.
After a stunned beat, Hannah let a small snicker rise out of her, but nothing so much as a full laugh escaped.
"You're adorable, Tevia", she said, taking his arm. "But, like I said, we don't have to worry about all that today. We can just be ourselves."

A little scrape of humored breath out of the corner of his mouth, grin shyly ducking away, a little awkward at the compliment.
"I mean, you don't know me that well," he pointed out playfully as they moved on, "Being myself and being a gentleman might not necessarily be totally mutually exclusive. For example--"
he took a deep breath to buy him a moment's time, eyes lifting in solemn consideration.
Oops. He hadn't really thought this through. He'd sort of thought something would have occurred to him by now.
Holding doors open for people? Nope. Discussing politics? Nope. Smoking cigars? Nope. Did he own a study, with stained wood furniture? Nope.
... Okay, he was taking this a little more seriously now.
"Hang on," he murmured distractedly, "just give me a sec."
Woah. No. Nothing. He didn't even own a pair of pleated pants.
He gaped thoughtfully, cringing one eye as he murmured; "Wow. That was an eye-opening moment there."
He started snapping the fingers of his free hand.
"Okay give me some help here, gentleman bullet points. I've gotta score somewhere."
sure yes. what will it be, the case he makes for why a Transformers tie would go best with his tuxedo, or watching him make his hor dourves have little mock swordfights with eachother, using their own toothpicks as weapons this gonna be some serious My Fair Lady s**t right here. i'd have saved that joke so tev could make a reference to it later but sadly he's never seen it. so much material wasted. zeke would have gotten the joke.

She walked with him, expecting him to blow her away with some little known facts of his true chivalrous nature. She waited…and waited. Tevia looked stuck. Oh boy.
Hannah couldn't help but smile at him. It wasn't like she picked him out because he fit the part, she picked him out because she believed he could play it. It was more fun that way. Besides, she couldn't imagine being able to find someone in the slave market that was actually like the man of her dreams, or even close enough to it. Truth be told though, she was a little disappointed that he couldn't think of one thing that was gentleman-like about him. There had to be something.
"Oh, umm, alright, lemme see., she started, stumbling through her words a bit, surprised that he needed help with this. "Can you play any classical instruments? Ballroom dance? Uhm, return favors? Have a passport?" There was a lot more she could think of, but she didn't want him to feel bad if nothing were agreeable to him.

"Oh I dance," he informed the human, fixing her with a solemn stare, eyebrows raised and and head inclined slightly to impart just how seriously he meant that. "Ballroom? No though. Like, techno. Emily Osment. J-Pop. Oh but--"
wait, he couldn't say he had a passport, this identity didn't have one. Shoot. What was the other stuff? He switched tracks without missing a beat. "Uhh. Favors. I totally return favors. Back scratches, whole deal. So tell you what; you teach me ballroom, I'll teach you freestyle. I'll even bead you up some candy."
Another cheeky little grin, eyes twinkling her way through that wayward fringe of red hair, half-joking but also perfectly willing... he kinda doubted she'd actually be interested, though.

The girls eyes lit up when Tevia pointed out that he can, in fact, dance. How fun! But, Hannah didn't recognize any styles of dance in that list. It sounded more like types of music, with a random singer sprinkled in the mix. Still, it was mildly important for him to be light on his feet, so his confidence and evident grace did add points to her favor.
His offer peaked her interest, learning how to dance together was a fairly intimate experience and did tend to bring people closer. It would be the perfect chance to practice being a fake couple. It would also be a good skill for him to know if they just so happened to get invited to a party of the fancy persuasion. Day one and the elf was already preparing ways to get them to look believable. This guy was good.
Not sure where the candy came from though.
"Alright, you got yourself a deal.", she agreed in her usual giggly voice. It was always fun to learn something new, especially something physical like dancing. Plus, the elf made things even more exciting, and she had a feeling he would make a fun teacher.

It was kind of cute to imagine her all trussed up in rave gear, and for him, not at all difficult. He had a pretty good imagination. Fuzzy legwarmers, candy to her elbows, pigtails. She'd look a lot younger, he realized, gazing at her idly, momentarily forgetting that his mind was connected to a body that was as visible to others as his line of sight. Her personality was kind of sweet, and innocent. Without her proper, lady-like clothes, she'd give off a totally different impression.
Not that he minded the impression she did give off, or anything. It suited her. Or maybe he just thought that because it was all he'd seen her in; it wasn't the kind of thing he was likely to dwell on too deeply.
If it had been possible to peer into the elf's mind, it could have been fascinating to an observer how just how much it had sincerely slipped his mind that she owned him, and everything that could mean, if she'd wanted it to. Only a few hours ago he'd been cooped up in a cell, in a gilded slave house. Now he was wandering over rolling, grassy hills in the warm afternoon sunlight, with a cute girl in a big floppy hat, the light breeze pulling flatteringly at her ginger tresses and the skirt of her sundress, and he hadn't even missed a beat. He wasn't one to stress unnecessarily, taking things at face value not as a preference he'd developed, but by nature, really.

Hannah had expected him to say something in reaction to their agreement, but Tevia just kind of…stopped. When the girl realized he was staring, she assumed he was appreciating her face, it was pretty after all. She wasn't mad in the slightest, and was even a bit flattered. She supposed it wasn't necessarily a bad thing for him to find her attractive. In fact, it would most likely work in their favor.
Gazing back at him, she finally noticed the not-all-there glaze in his eyes. Not really the kind of focused attention one would have when studying something beautiful. Looks like she misread him. He was spacing out.
Disappointed, she spoke up in a half-hearted tone of authority, peeling her eyes off of him to regard the forest they were approaching, "Tevia, it's rude to stare."

"What?" The barely voiced word fell dumbly out of the elf's mouth before his brain caught up, a single blink restoring focus to those day-dreaming eyes, returning him to reality. "Oh, no I mean, I wasn't. Or -- I mean, was I? Sorry."
He didn't sound terribly troubled, though, a dorky, mischievous glimpse of canines flashed briefly her way, dark eyes twinkling before they moved innocently ahead, finishing warmly;

And he's back.
She listened to him clumsily apologize, giving him a smile so he knew she wasn't mad with him. He didn't sound worried about it either way. His excuse was amusing and probably a lie, though he did mention the hat beforehand. With his peculiar style in mind, Hannah had a hard time taking that as a compliment.
"You like it? You can try it on if you'd like.", she already had her free hand on the brim, prepared to hand it over. The woods would provide plenty of shade, rendering the hat useless except as an accessory.

A snickery, cracking laugh erupted candidly from his nose, throwing his head to the side briefly in amused not-quite-basfhulness, then looking straight back, clearly game by his expression.
"Sure, okay," he muttered, voice tight with humor. "Hang on."
His hair was pulled up too high for her hat to even fit. He bowed his head so he could put both his hands to work getting his hairband off, gripping the base of his bun and tugging bit by bit till he'd freed his hair. He shook it promptly out down around his shoulders, in a mane of deep, natural chestnut red, brilliant in the afternoon sunlight. It was thick but straight, and fell into a natural point just below his shoulder-blades. He ruffled the top of his head briefly to settle it, then reached for her hat with a stifled little smile.
"Okay give it here."
He held it by the top like a cowboy hat, and planted it firmly atop his head, bowing it slightly so he could stare up at her seriously from under the rim.
"Alright, who wore it better?" he challenged, with playful solemnness. His ears were long enough that they were pushed out slightly to either side.

Hannah took the hat off as the elf released his locks, much longer than she had expected. She found herself feeling impressed, as well as the urge to take a pair of scissors to the innocent strands. For Tevia, it was very fitting to his laid-back personality, and otherwise, Hannah wouldn't dream of asking him to cut it off. However, as the person who was supposed to play her boyfriend, it was not a very desirable look. She would have to do something about his piercings too.
He took the hat from her, wearing it as if a mysterious stranger. Posing aside, it did look nice on him. Brilliant hazel eyes peeking out from beneath the brim, and long hair that gave him a more feminine appearance when coupled with such a hat. His elvish nature gave him a lightness and grace that would be better suited for a modeling position, rather than an acting one. Hannah wondered what he would look like wearing an outfit from her closet.
"How could I compete with that?", she asked, half-jokingly.
The two had finally reached the woods entrance, sunshine barely breaking through the tree tops.
