Dhana and her brother, Sunder, make up a brilliant thieving tag-team duo. Dhana is the brains, while Sunder is the charm. Together, the two of them have no real need for litheness, or any other physical prowess for that matter, because they could steal the rug out from under a rich man's coffee table right in front of his eyes if they needed to. They frequently communicate on the job through crystal-powered earpieces, and this is especially helpful if they need to be separated. Their "career" boosted quite a bit once moving to Below, as Apshodel is a relatively wealthy area.
Dhana's family life has always been a bit complicated. She and her brother are two sides of the same coin, practically attached at the hip (except for when he annoys her to all hell, which happens frequently). She also gets along famously with her mother, and they call each other about once a day to gossip about Dhana's twin and whatever else might be going on. Sometimes they go on spa dates. Esme is surprisingly supportive of the twins' career. Dhana's father, Raenen, left the family when she was still a teenager, having imbued a stone with some other person, and she has resented him for it. She knows there's a half-sister out there somewhere, and she doesn't care to know her.

Maeve is the illegitimate daughter of Raenen, and the reason he pulled away from his family. He took special care with her, particularly because she was mutated - double pupils, shaped like hearts! How bizarre. She's not entirely blind, but her vision is warped, and she has next to no depth perception. She has a handful of prescription medical spells to assist with her vision so she can function normally. Maeve was raised a single, spoiled child who basically got everything she wanted. She had no passion, no interests besides lounging around watching horror movies. She's now a Senior at the Academy, living in a single dorm with a collection of stark white childhood plushies. She's violently temperamental, destined to be a pretty bridezilla.
