love the owl in your sig... cute! owls are so adorable, especially the little white puffball ones... too bad they'd open up a can of eye-gouge if you tried to cuddle them...

Edit:Pyrotechnic Oracle Hard to beleive she's so young, isn't it? Oooh. I'm flattered, really. ^ ^

I'm flattered, really. ^ ^ again though, i don't think there can be a set age for adulthood, medically, since people progress at different times. i'd go with puberty, whenever that may hit. they can no longer advance any more. maybe a few more inches and a bit more brainpower, but not the sort of massive change from baby to child and child to adult. and yes, you are very mature for your age, lorysa

But, how do we know which dictionary is more superior? Is Webster's as good as a medical one?
Webster's says a child can be unborn, but the medical one says 2-12 years, so couldn't they say that theirs is the "correct" one? If they do, is there anything to debunk it? Or are they equal, depending on what you personally mean when you say "child?" (Sorry if I missed something!)

Or are they equal, depending on what you personally mean when you say "child?" (Sorry if I missed something!) They're both right. The websters speak of by definition. The medical dictionary speaks of biology. Biologicly, a child is between 2-12. By definition, though, you never really stop being a child.

Stedman's adolescence The period of life beginning with puberty and ending with completed growth and physical maturity. (L. adolescentia) and childhood The period of life between infancy and puberty. "Teenager" isn't in there, but this is. Honestly, next person who complains about using the word "baby" instead of "fetus" or "infant," next time they use the word "a**" I'm going to yell at them to call it "gluteus maximus." rolleyes

Lorysa ((Gluteus maximus is the real word for "butt," I think...)) lol, yes, it's the medical term for the muscles that make up your bottom, but I believe that what Pyro is confused about is why this thread is being bumped up. xd
