Honestly, Ignatius wasn't that bothered by the cold. Or by the lack of light, for that matter.
After all, he was an elemental. And also, his skin literally glowed.
At noticing the lack of light, Ignatius rather comically opened his mouth, letting even more light reflect out so he could get a full look of where he was headed. "Air ih ee gah?" Presumably, that was supposed to be "Where did he go?" but it wasn't like anyone could understand him with his mouth just open like that. He wasn't like one of those actual ghosts who could throw their voices, or anything. Or a ventriloquist. That might help too.
Ignatius followed after Hel, mouth still awkwardly ajar, because it seemed like the most sensical thing to do at the time. She seemed to be heading towards something, or at least, not a wall, which was the important part. As he grew closer, he realized they were actually heading towards something. A platform. With stones?
"Geight!" which was presumably supposed to be great, "Cahn I ha un?"
He presumed the answer was yes and plucked up the blue one, bringing it close to his face. The light coming from his body reflected off and, to some extent, through the gem. It was pretty, shiny, and most importantly, distracting.

The first time they had fought in recent memory, everyone had come to see. The second time, Chaos and his brother had been more secretive, intent on actually ending one another without witnesses. He had locked Thoth away, stifled balance and truth so that he might rule unchallenged. Or at least he'd thought he had.
He awoke as the last of the gems was touched, the membranes that shielded his golden eyes crusted with the dust of a thousand year sleep. If he had truly won, why was he here? He blinked as he tried to rise, hesitating when he noticed the human child standing awkwardly beside him.
- - - - - Bren's mind had gone quiet now, the voice that had led him this far silent in Apep's presence. The last directive he had received had been to kill the creature stirring before him, but now that he could see the serpent for himself, he wasn't sure that he could. Maybe if his friends were here... but he had rushed ahead. He had left them.
Why had he done that?
And where had this spear come from?
He hefted it a little in his hands, not taking his eyes off of the giant snake as he tested its weight.

Quote: The stones begin to glow, Ruth's greeting hanging in the air alone for a second or two before she shimmers into view as well. All three of you are glowing now, not just Ignatius and his very impressive mouth. You are all a bit see-through too, especially in the vicinity of the hand that is holding your stone. You find it has fused to you, though when exactly that happened remains unclear. It doesn't hurt or anything, so... eh. In fact, it's kind of tingly with power, though what kind you can't immediately discern. There is a bit of a draft coming from the wall that Ruth saw Brenley disappear through. Otherwise the cave is still dark and unremarkable. You can all see and hear each other now though. And, man. You're a glowing ghost thing! Sorry this probably isn't very exciting for you, Ig. Unless... Maybe you infected the others with your elemental-hood. :O omgah Huni Pi still a little see-through but now so is everyone else ohoho Lucyal one moar post a piece pls about whatever you'd like maybe the breezy wall, maybe tacos anything is fine Seiana_ZI then a brief giant snek fite :>~ <333

Oh, hey, Blondie!
"Yeah, I see her!" said Ignatius, excitedly, though he observed that he didn't exactly remember her being a ghost the last they met. Oh no, had she been permanently dissipated? And then resurrected as a ghost reaper? ... Could that really happen? He hadn't actually ever thought about if a Halloween citizen could just keep coming back as infinite Halloween citizens but it was an interesting idea--
Oh Hel was also glowy and invisible.
He suddenly whipped the hand that was holding the gem towards her to point. "Hey, you're ghosts now!"
Wait, the gem wasn't falling to the ground when he turned his hand over. Huh? He tried to shake it off his hand, but it failed. The gem seemed to be, ah, attached. He used his other hand to attempt to yank it off, but that didn't really seem to be working, either. "I think these rocks were glued." He paused, before adding, "Magically," because if it was just glue, it would at least budge a bit...
"Uh, when did you get here?" He turned his attention back to the newly present reaper. "You didn't come with us, did you?"
He didn't recall her coming with.
"Also did it get breezy in here?"
Smerdle snek, snek, oooooh it's a snek.

kneel
Apep's voice wove through the minds of everyone present, even the ones who could not yet see him. His demand was whispered, unintelligible but still somehow understandable.
bow before me and you shall be spared
Brenley stood frozen in place, convinced he was about to die for good but unable to stop thinking even so. The tome that had sent him on this quest, the one Dahlia had given him, it had spoken of Apep. Of binding him, not killing him. That was what he had set out to do, after all, before the presence in his head had quickly made murdering Chaos sound like a really good idea.
So. Binding. How exactly was he meant to do that? He had gone over the steps enough times to commit them to memory, but faced with the reality of the situation, they seemed rather inadequate.
1. SPIT ON APEP 2. STOMP ON APEP Unlikely.
But the third...
3. SMITE APEP WITH A LANCE He squinted at the weapon in his hand. Lance. Spear. Whatever. In a flash of movement hastened by Fear and fear, Bren rather impulsively jammed the pointy end into the serpent's side.
Apep screeched, the frosty mist that poured from his stony snout lowering the temperature even further, all the way back into the altar chamber. There was an odd drop in air pressure as well, enough to make a susceptible Halloween creature's ears pop. The ground shook, the cavern walls cracked, but instead of falling to pieces like a normal cave might, the rocks silently disintegrated in place, leaving nothing but a sandy-floored violet void. Ahead, a pitch black three-story snake punted a much smaller Brenley away with its tail.

Blondie had been sleeping? That was interesting. How did she get here then?
--Wait, who was that talking? He didn't see anyone else. They had a request he definitely didn't agree to, though.
"Kneel?"
Ignatius scoffed, even if he was just hearing the voice in his head. Honestly, he couldn't really tell.
"My a**."
What was asking him to kneel though? He didn't see anything that required kneeling. The screech caught his attention, though, and he caught the way that the air pressure dropped, though all that really did to him was make him jumpier, seeing how much he liked storms. He was, after all, a lightning elemental.
The ground shook and the walls suddenly vanished, and in front of him he suddenly saw Brenley. "Bren--!" And then he saw Brenley go flying.
Well.
Tapping into his natural ability, Ignatius charged at the snake, because he had no real concept of anything remotely like restraint, winding his arm back behind him and letting a bit of electricity charge in his grasp. He threw it at the snake once he got close enough to be sure that there was no way he could possibly miss.
... Which, admittedly, he didn't have to run that far.
The snake was huge.
HP: 50/50 Apep HP: ??? Damage: 14
