Rep was impressed that Harrison had managed to turn a profit on him thrashing a trainee and realized once again why he both loved and had married the guy. He clapped Micah on the back.
"He's absolutely ******** fine, wards and all that s**t, I couldn't ******** lay a hand on him. Nae harm done." And to calm his nerves he downed the whole mug of hot chocolate as if it was a shot of whiskey and extended the empty mug back to Harrison like it was his job to carry the empties as he had brought them out in the first place.
"Well it's better than nothing." he said. "We should head back I guess. I mean unless this guy wants to play in the snow some more ha ha right mate?"

"I'm fine," Micah said, pretty much automatically, and wondered as he did so why the hell he was covering for this a*****e. No, he did know, he realized; one, there was nothing stopping Rep from ambushing him later if he didn't do so, and two, being a nark went against his basic principles. He took the five and stuffed it in his pocket, finished the hot chocolate in several large gulps, and offered the mug back, because he was pretty sure that the price did not cover that.
"No, I'm, uh, gonna go ... rest, I guess," he said, eyeing Rep with wary caution.

Harrison collected both mugs, still sipping on his own slowly. He stood a weighty minute, then decided, "Sure. Resting. Let's head in. Don't want to use up all our energy making snow angels."
When they turned to go, he fell into step next to Rep, shoulder to shoulder.
He asked Micah half casually and half a threat not directed at Micah, "How old are you?"

Rep shut up because he knew what was good for him and wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth in as far as his intimidation tactics forcing the other man to wave off what had just happened and to attempt to beat a hasty retreat.
He didn't expect Harrison to ask what he asked and made a strange strangled sound in his throat at it.
"I don't know how old he is." Rep said in a very defensive manner.

It was pretty clear that Harrison had a large amount of influence over Rep, and Micah was just going to shut up and accept his mostly-accidental rescue and remember that. He stayed a little way away from the pair, paranoid and feeling incredibly awkward.
Harrison got a slightly strange look at the question. There was something else going on here, Micah could tell, but hell if he knew what. "Uh. 20," he said. He looked a bit younger than that, but he'd had a birthday relatively recently.

"Wow," Harrison said, "the big two-oh. So, really old. I mean, basically elderly considering our recruiting age parameters. Is there any particular reason, old-timer, that you wanted your a** kicked? I mean, it's none of my business specifically."
He looked at Micah expectantly.

Micah didn't growl, mostly because most of his pride had been temporarily kicked out, in a rather literal fashion. But he did scowl sideways, wondering why he was the one getting the questions all of a sudden, and why he was getting asked about his age. "Just wanted a spar," he said shortly, which was the truth, he had just wanted a spar. It was at least mostly not his fault that Rep was nuts and had decided to go ahead and torture him after.
