"I suppose that's a plan." Kian teased lightly, "Oh? Then I'll have to make sure to look out for you." He frowned slightly, "Just don't try looking for me only, okay? You should find the place that is best for your family since I'm just a wanderer. Only the winds will know where I end up~"
"I hear that there is a place in Jauhar that has all of the races living there...more of a trading town. Perhaps if your journey becomes longer than planned then that place would be nice." He smiled before pointing out another odd stone to mark, "Could you imagine a place for hybrids and all species to just get along? I would enjoy that, but I don't even know if I can take my companion's word for such a place. Hard to believe, right? Plus, he says that the plants and rocks glow there. More of a story to me..."

Aaricia giggled and nodded. "Well, not only you, but definitely you." Who knew; maybe the winds would be nice like the snow spirits, and help them meet again once she was free.
Sketching out the stone now, her pencil paused as Kian laid out the dream. A place where hybrids were accepted. Everyone got along. No one would tease her or her mama? And glowing plants?! Her eyes were wide with wonder as she turned to look at Kian. "Are you sure we can't come with you now?" she asked softly. A story or not, there had to be some truth to it! 16

"Good." Kian smiled. He prayed that the girl wouldn't run into him anytime soon. His future was still full of shadows after all and the last thing he wanted was for an innocent spirit to get involved. His hands were already stained as it was.
Kian's expression flickered, "I would love to take you, but my companions..." He sighed wistfully, "While others may find the journey to be easier...the road I'm taking is different and far too dangerous. I don't even know if I can end up there." The hybrid gently touched Aaricia's shoulder, "Plus you would need time to get ready and you have to build strength while I can't stay any longer." He was almost like a dream, a spirit of hope that could only appear for the briefest of moments before going away again.
"Grow and get stronger so that one day we can hopefully meet again and I'll gladly take you there then." If she was fortunate then perhaps if she did happen to run into him then he would be powerful and could protect her. He just needed time so that he could grow and train as well.

As Kian explained the situation, Aaricia's posture fell. Well, it wouldn't be any time soon, but it would happen. Despite the downward shift in mood, she raised her chin and stiffened her lip. "I'll get stronger then. I'll be strong like mama, an' we'll get to travel, and we'll find you again!" She made her smile rise again, trying to think ahead. "And then you can show us where to find that place. ..Unless we find it first~"

"Hey~" Kian noticed her fallen demeanor and immediately reached out to pat her head, "Patience is a virtue they say. Even the greatest adventures don't always happen right away." He winked, "One day it'll be your turn. You just have to wait a bit longer."
He smiled at her determination, "Atta girl. Consider it a reward for making the trip later. I'm sure we'll run into each other again." Even as he said the words, his stomach twisted. Lies could so easily leave his lips...he prayed that the girl would never find him again. It was for her own safety that he hoped so.
"Ooooh, true." Ignoring his own feelings, Kian laughed. "Then I'll have to rely on you to show me the way! I'm sure you'll be easily able to guide me since you're so good with maps." Another rough wind whipped through the area and Kian raised his cloak as a shield for the girl, "Until then what do you say about us heading back? Let's finish this path so I can help you home, okay?"

With Kian's encouragement, Aaricia's brave smile felt a little braver. She could be patient. She had to be.
Her smile brightened further at the thought of seeing Kian again later, and going to the special place. It would be fun to get there first, and then be able to help him as he had helped her today. Gripping her papers against the wind, she tucked herself under the shielding cloak to finish up her sketches. "Okay. Mama will probably be getting home from work soon, too. I like getting dinner ready for her."

Protecting the little one from the wind Kian grinned, "Alright then. I definitely should help you to get home little miss cook." He couldn't resist teasing, "She draws, she cooks, you must be a master mind." As it was the winds seemed to be getting chillier. He wondered if another snowstorm was going to come through.
That would definitely make his own travel plans more interesting...

Looking up at Kian, she couldn't help giggling and raising her chin with a little hint of pride. "And mama's teaching me how to sew." Her mother was making sure that she wouldn't have to depend on too many others to survive...
Tucking her sketch pad away, she looked up at Kian with a brilliant smile to match a brilliant idea. "You should stay for dinner! Let me feed you for being my companion today!" Blushing, she cleared her throat and tried to reign herself in. "At the least.. stay until the food is ready, and take some with you when you go..."

"You have a good mother." Kian smiled at the girl's obvious happiness. Was this what it would have been like instead? To have been raised with a normal family...not in some ice prison...the hybrid could only shake his head.
"Wait..." Kian raised an eyebrow, "Are you sure?" The mage took a moment to ponder it before shrugging, "I suppose if the sun stays high enough and you can cook quickly. Let's get you home then so you can begin." This way he at least could make certain that she would get home safely. He didn't plan on staying for long, just long enough to take her home and then let her have a decent goodbye.
That decided Kian took her hand and began to walk, "Lead the way, Aaricia."

Aaricia was practically glowing once Kian accepted. She wasn't sure if he would get the chance to meet her mother, but it would be okay. The fact that he'd be staying for even a little while was exciting. "Mama says there's always room at the table for a friend!" In particular, her mother meant the boy Frik. They didn't have much, but there was enough to share with an extra mouth or two. At the least, they rarely hungered at bedtime.
Gripping Kian's hand firmly, she strode forward with a confident step, quite eager to see how much further she could impress him.
