Dawson blinked. "Uh..." But Talia was starting to wriggle too much, so he didn't question it. Dipping down, he let the minipet back into her cage and worked to get the sheets back, which luckily the barghest had no interest in--her carrier already had some comfort in the form of a folded blanket. If anything, she seemed happier to be somewhere dark and confined and on the ground again.

"I'm just gonna, uh..." He rolled the sheets up messily, thought better of it, and then just planted himself next to Maebe again and tossed the sheets over their shoulders. "If ya get cold," he explained. Dawson wouldn't be; he practically radiated heat. "So, uh, yeah! Glad ya like her. And spoil her to boot," Dawson added with a teasing nudge. "Think ya like her more 'an me even."

He wouldn't even be mad because dogs.

It was coincidental timing that the movie began on Hoth, given the cold comment. (Genius, he'd call it.) "This one's the best," he told Maebe with a smile as Luke and his tauntaun began investigating what they thought was a meteor strike. "You'll see."

Maebe's body bounced lightly when he dropped beside her, and she pulled her side of the sheet over the rest of her body before curling herself up against him. She wasn't cold; if anything, she was overheating; and yet that didn't stop her from burying her shoulder against him, and tilting her head to rest back on his chest.

"Impossible." She informed him plainly. "I'll never like anyone more than you."

The movie began, and sure enough, the sight of all that snow made her shiver. She took him at his word, believing that this movie would surpass the next, and sure enough a plot point arose that had her attention.

"Oh." She whispered, snickering. "Love triangle. I get it." No, she didn't.

She really didn't.

But at least it was becoming more obvious, by the time they were on Cloud City, that Leia was starting to make her decision. Maebe's expression started to get really, really smug.

She lifted her head up, and whispered really quietly in his ear. "They're going to bang."

As if he hadn't watched the movie before. As if he needed her to tell him anything.

"Lando's got no shot."

Thank God the movie more than filled up the subtle yet awkward pause after that reminder; he wasn't sure his little heh covered it.

"Totally," Dawson told her with a grin right back, since there was no point in pretending like it wasn't obvious. "In some book, don' remember which right now, there's totally a scene where they hafta hurry up n' dress 'emselves 'cause there's Imperials literally at the door. But remember, eighties--ain' gonna be no sex scene for you t'fawn over here." And Thank God also for that. "Still, Lando's a cool guy, really."

Even as he set them up with a dinner with Vader. Whoops.

"He's awesome in the books," he added as assurance, absently patting Maebe's side because she was there and in grasp. "Gawd, I hope they bring Billy Dee back fer the new trilogy..."

"Holy s**t." Maebe snickered, impressed that there was solid proof that those two committed some solid sinning - even if it was only in book form. She hummed with disappointment over the eighties cockblocking her, but didn't seem to disagree with her assessment of Lando. "Oh, no, he is. I mean, he can get it. Just not from Leia. She has that s**t on lockdown."

She probably should have been more upset at Lando's betrayal, but he was hot, and had a decent flowy cape. So all was forgiven.

Then, it happened.

Maebe sat up straight when Han dipped in, and there was nothing subtle about that kiss. Sure, he was in life threatening danger, but the woman he'd been after for almost two movies now was admitting his love to him, and she thought he'd probably never been happier than he was in that moment.

Then came I know, and she let out a very small, infatuated sigh.

"Smooth." She admitted, falling back down against Dawson. There was no denying it, now. She was invested.

He couldn't help but give a belly shaking laugh as Luke returned to the screen, disturbed about what he sensed through the Force. "Welcome to the club," Dawson said with another pat. "Han's a dreamboat like that, yeah? So's Luke—just wait 'til he brings out the all black look in the next movie."

Maebe was, herself, almost a movie to watch.

"Han's not a dreamboat."

Her response sounded like a complete contradiction to everything she'd already said, but she quickly explained with the kind of in-depth, critical analysis of a man that only she had the ability to provide.

"He makes bad jokes. Like, all the time. He runs into fights like a lunatic. He's hitting on a girl like an awkward teenage virgin. He literally ******** up every time he tries to run away. The only point to Chewie is to keep that man-boy alive. He's a complete nerd, and he's beautiful."

As she explained it all, it was clear there was a fondness in her voice - and it was hard to consider anything she said an insult.

"But he's crazy for Leia. That's what counts."

Luke had been too whiny to be considered a dreamboat himself, but she was keeping her mind open. Still, he'd already been friendzoned in her mind. If Leia went for the good boy, Maebe would consider the entire franchise a flop.

The movie ended on what could only be considered a cliffhangar - they did not save Han, Darth Vader was still totally the supreme lord of everything, and the Rebels were just running away. She smacked Dawson's knee repeatedly with impatience. "Put it in, put it in."

That was...an interesting way of looking at him. Dawson made a musing noise and nodded a little but didn't interrupt the movie further; Maebe was truly beginning to get sucked in.

Snickering to himself as she patted his knee insistently, he leaned over to get the next movie. "Tha's definitely what she said," he snickered as he switched out movies. "Aight, here we go, here-we-go. No potty break or anythin' even?" He couldn't hide his grin, her growing enthusiasm infectious on top of his already strong love for the series.
