I have a few suggestions that you make like.
I just recently finished The Devil Works Part-time. It's a fish out of water type comedy (kind of feels like slice of life at times) about how Satan and his right hand ended up in modern day Tokyo where he ends up working at a fast food restaurant. It has some serious moments here and there and some meta humor. It's pretty short, only 13 episodes I think but overall it's pretty good =)
Another is Nichijou. A very, silly, slice of life anime mainly surrounding three friends in school and another girl who is a robot. It usually has many short segments per episode. It's the kind of show where you could pick up at just about any episode because there's so little continuity.
A couple others I'd suggest are:
Great Teacher Onizuka [Comedy] A former gang member becomes a middle school teacher and wins over his students by helping them out with their problems. (It's pretty old and the animation isn't the greatest, but I think it still holds up very well.)
The World God Only Knows [Comedy] A high school student obsessed with dating sims becomes bound to a contract with a demon girl, and in order to break free he has to win the affections of many of his female classmates.(There are I believe 4 seasons total. I have only seen the first so far, so I can't say much for the other 3, but the first was really good).

(Read summary first) I've watched the Devil is a Part-Timer, 3 times I think now? It is surprisingly good, it gets you caught up in it. And it totally needs another season. As does Air Gear... I personally think air gear is good already, Plus the manga has ended, I don't know how far the series went but the manga is good at it is. I remember watching only till ep 19. So I'm not sure if it will alst longer I will try it out then

It has lots of fighting. An adventure that came from a light novel and has sexy and kawaii girls so. All you want in a typical adventure series
