Otto held some sympathy for Melvin. He knew how heavy a burden it was to feel like he was the cause of someone's death, or wonder over and over what he could have done differently. The difference being Otto found himself jumping straight into relationships again. Melvin seemed much more cautious and aware of his own heart.

"It sucks cause there ain't no right answer. You can tell yourself it's selfish to want to move on, or say you'd only repeat your mistakes, but it'll also hold you back. I mean, I ain't a shinin' example neither. I always screw s**t up." He felt like no matter how far he came, he would always fall back into old routines.

"We all hurt people." Then again, he could barely think of a time when anyone he'd been involved with ever hurt him. Did that make him the villain? He thought bitterly to himself of all the times he was to blame, and could scarce recall ever having someone else do the same to him.

"You can stay where you are, or be selfish. Either way, it'll al be your choice. Better or worse."
