Ryan would watch as the Geodude came into view. The fact that it was nothing more than a rock with arms always sat funny with him, and not in a ha-ha way. One Bubblebeam later and it was out cold. Ryan moved on.

With the swarm of Woobat behind them, Sub and Poe decided to take a break and sit on a rock for a bit. Unfortunately fortune did not favor the duo as their break was cut extremely short as a Gible came out of nowhere and latched its self onto Poe's head.

"Why does this keep happening!?" Sub shouted into the abyss as he promptly grabbed onto the Gible and struggled to pry it off of Poe. He was really starting to regret coming here.

The next pokemon they ran into swooped down at Dan, causing the trainer to duck. The Noibat snickered as it turned around and tried it again only to be intercepted by Shelgon. The bulky dragon managed to leap off the ground to smack the poor bat out of the air with Dragon Claw. Before it could recover, he finished it off with a Zen Headbutt, sending it into a wall. "Whoa!...Where'd all that aggression come from?" Dan looked at his pokemon who then promptly laid down. And now he was back to his usual lazy self. The trainer sighed and took a seat on the ground beside his dragon for a while.

During her continued exploration, Amaranth would end up hearing a Whismur screaming in the distance, prompting her to get to another area quickly and continue looking to see more of what the cave had to offer. Damp as it was, there was a bit of subtle beauty in the place...

"Croa!" the frog would croak. Ryan had finally found his target. He checks his Pokedex to see what would be the best attack. A twitch would run across his forehead. Fighting/Poison. This frog wasn't even a water-type!? This was just as annoying as that gooball of a dragon who lacked water typing!

At this point Ryan was about to give up when he realized the deception he could pull. All the other frog pokemon were water types. Slipping in a non-water frog could really throw someone for a loop.

The first shot Ryan would take would be with that of an Ice Beam. The chilling blast would startle the poor fake frog and force it back. Ryan would then have Ursula go for a bubblebeam, which, to his surprise, would completely heal back up the false amphibian. Water could heal it!? What was this nonsense!?

The Croagunk would be ready this time, and drive both Ryan and Ursula back by hitting them both with a Feint Attack thanks to the way Ryan was using his Remoraid. It was back to Ice Beam as Psybeam would more and likely oneshot his target.

The Croagunk would throw a Mud Bomb at the two, but Ryan was able to dodge it. Ryan had Ursula fire off another Ice Beam as it chipped away at the untrue frog's health. Once again the Croagunk would use a Mud Bomb and Ryan would dodge away. The third Ice Beam would land and the results were showing. The Croagunk looked exhausted.

Ryan would pull out a Safari Ball and give it a toss. It would land and snatch the evil water-void frog. Now, would it contain him?

Proceeding with their search, Dan was starting to become antsy. Sure he didn't expect to find an Axew immediately but an Ekans?! The snake was currently staring Shelgon down and hissing. It struck first, using Bite on his rough exterior. The dragon winced in pain but shook the serpent loose so it could deliver a decisive Zen Headbutt. The reptile snorted from his non visible nostrils, standing over the defeated pokemon. "Ehhh.... Let's keep searching."

A Foogus would show itself on the ground, but Amaranth failed to notice it as she went by, only hearing the faint scream from Sub about a group of Woobat. She wasn't sure if she wanted to know what was going on there, and decided to keep moving.

And continue on they did. Dan was starting to get impatient but didn't want to give up. As for Shelgon...well he was acting a little peculiar if not very aggressive. Last he checked, he wasn't infected but perhaps it couldn't hurt to get him checked out. Or maybe he just needed to get out more. The trainer had his eyes on the dragon until he was alerted to a pokemon ahead of them. Lo and behold! An Axew, just sitting there with it's back turned. "Alright! Finally! Let's catch it and get out of here" he grinned. Shelgon nodded, his entire body moving in response as he approached the tiny dragon. But as he did, it swiftly turned around with a Scary Face that threw Shelgon off guard. Axew snicked and used Slash to push the round reptile back. "Wha? Huh?" Dan looked baffled. The runt fell onto his back, laughing and giggling at what he'd done. 'A prankster, huh?' That was a new one. Rain wasn't exactly a prankster as much as he was a troublemaker. At least he was. This Axew's personality was very much like a breath of fresh air, no way was he going to let it slip away.

Shelgon got back up, not to be done in by a cheap scare a swipe at his rock hard bod. He was ready to teach this little one a lesson but kept in mind his trainer's intentions. A round of Ember was sent its way, the sparks getting the runt off his back and sprawling to get away from the heat. Now it was angry, charging at Shelgon with glowing green claws. "Iron Defense" Dan called out, the dragon's body glistening with a silver glow as the Dual Chop struck. Axew was shocked now. His attack...did nothing? The larger pokemon didn't even flinch! But he was quick to knock the little guy down with a simple Headbutt. The Tusk pokemon got back on his feet, feeling the pressure of facing a stronger opponent...but he still had that! "Just a little more. Then I think I can-" "AAAAXXXEEEEWWW!" The tiny dragon lunged again, this time with glowing blue tusk. Call it an odd feeling, but Dan felt that taking the hit from this one was not an option. "Quick! Stop it with Ember!" The flames erupted just in time to stop it in its tracks, canceling the Guillotine. It was now or never! Dan threw the Dusk Ball at the little one, it lying still as it was struck. The pokemon was sucked inside and the trainer was now resigned to watch with bated breath.
