Her skin shivers, like there were flies to discourage from landing, but it as the butterflies swarming inside that made it move. And for the first time in she didn't know how long, she felt a smile stretch her face, light her eyes, and warm her heart. She moves again, this time she just turns, her front legs not moving far from where they had been as she presses up against his side. She moves to nuzzle his neck, wondering at the emotion thundering through every inch of her. A strange sensation as her ears focus on only one sound out of a world she had always heard music from. His breathing, heartbeat, the creak of snow under his hooves. Her voice soft but powerful, " Mine." She lets her teeth lightly brush a light bite over his shoulder. Then, voice quiet, gentle, inexorable. " No more fear, no more silence, no more alone. Too too long . . . New music born in a moment echoes forever. Is this home?"

Seeing her smile was...indescribable. Amazing. Beautiful. Radiant. None of the words quote fit to describe how she looked with her lips upturned and eyes impossible brighter. It made the flutter in his chest quicken and his face heat up, the reaction foreign but wonderful.
He leaned into her nuzzle, wishing he could wrap himself around her forever and get lost. He could feel her wings against the top of his back, and he curled himself inward against her as though he could physically make them into one. A pleasant shiver ran down his spine as he felt her teeth scrape against her shoulder. He savored the slight pain of her bite, feeling an odd rush of pride of her marking. It was proof that he was hers and that she wanted to keep him. He had to repeat it to himself, as though if he didn't, it wouldn't be real. She wanted to keep him.
"Yours," he echoed, enjoying the sound of that. "This is our song and dance. It begins here." He gave her another affectionate nuzzle, burying his nose in her mane and whispered into her hair, "This is our home, on this night with these words, I vow. For us, for me, for you."

She sighs happily, settling against him, her wing draped across his back. Relaxed, she felt the gentle pull of warmth and night. Normally she couldn't sleep until her body was so exhausted there were no other options left. But being there with him, calmed her. The emotional energy burned almost as good for sleep as physical energy. But instead of feeling numb with exhaustion, she felt safe and content. The hummed words almost a purr, " My Invictus, my home, my love." Her eyes flutter, as the weight of sleep pulls on her. She didn't want the moment to end, but her exhausted soul had found a place to rest and it, at least, trusted this haven she had found in the stallion beside her would still be here when she woke.

Invictus practically purred when he felt her wing settle against his back, basking for a moment in the protective coven it provided him. All tension had bled out of his body at the act, and it was hard for him to remember that he had pictured this moment--her wings sheltering him, keeping them in their own private world. The energy of the night seemed to final tremble and settle with their last words, and he couldn't help himself but nestle his face into her long, flowing mane.
Love, he wondered to himself, his thoughts drowsy but content. Is that was this is? Because that would be wonderful.
"Pele'," he murmured into her ear as his eyes slid shut, already drifting off into a dream that would never match the one that he had wrapped around him.
"Pele'."
