Decran watched as Ceri curled up in Zephyr’s lap, happily purring and content as she enjoyed her pets. Chuckling softly he turned his attention to finding the remote. He wouldn’t turn the tv on just yet, not when Zephyr wanted to talk. He just wanted to find the damn thing in case things went quiet. “Mmm, well, you caught this place on a good day,” he said as he fished the remote out of the depths of the couch. “I just straightened up a couple of days ago. I try to keep my clothes and stuff picked up. If I don’t, this one here…” Decran reached out and scratched the top of Ceri’s head gently. “...tends to make herself at home in the middle of the pile.”

Zephyr watched Decran as he searched for the remote, his expression faltering slightly as he did so. Was he trying to find the remote because he thought the conversation was boring? They could just watch TV if he really wanted to. The Fallen too a swig of his drink and attempted not to look nervous. It was probably just him being paranoid. After all, he'd never been invited to someone else's dorm before. He surely wasn't that boring...
"Pfft, clothes aren't for sleeping on, silly fluff." He muttered, giving Ceri another scratch behind her ears. "But, she has to look pretty damn cute sitting on top of a throne of dirty laundry. I'd like to see that. It would make a great picture."

Decran laid the remote to the side and shook his head. “Sometimes it’s cute. Most times it’s a pain in the butt to get rid of all the fur. But you gotta love her. I’ve had her since before I moved into the dorms.” At the sound of a soft growl, Decran leaned forward and looked past the couch, towards his bedroom door. Standing there, head lowered and ears laid back was Tepin, his spectrefox. “Oh shush you. Zephyr’s nice. He’s our friend, yeah?” At the small whine, Decran sighed and rolled his eyes. “He’s such a big baby sometimes.” Decran clicked his tongue and encouraged Tepin to move past Zephyr (the familiar taking the route farthest from the fallen) and to come over to him. Finally, after what seemed like forever, the spectrefox laid its head down in Decran’s lap, ready to receive his reward of pets for braving the stranger sitting on his owner’s couch.

Zephyr shrugged his shoulders. Eh, he wouldn't mind having fur on his clothes if it was from a precious fluff ball like Ceri. It would remind him of home while he was stuck sitting in some boring class, probably tearing his hair out over complex math and science nonsense. He leaned back as he mulled it over and turned to watch Tepin approach the trio on the couch. Aw, the big floof was shy with strangers? Poor baby, if he'd known that, he would've brought some treats to help smooth things over!
"I don't mind, I used to be nervous around strangers, too." He said, smiling toward Tepin. "Don't mind me, Tepin. I'm not going to pet you if you don't want me to."

Decran petted Tepin in long, slow strokes, doing his best to keep his spectrefox calm. “He’ll warm up to you eventually, if you’re around enough.” He glanced from his company over to the tv and frowned. “If you don’t watch much tv, then what do you do? Read all the time?” He glanced back to Zephyr and raised an eyebrow. “Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I love to read. I’ve been thinking of starting a book club, maybe. I don’t know if anyone would be interested in it though.”

Zephyr sucked in a breath at the question and sunk his back further into the couch. What did he do when he wasn't reading? ... Sleep, mostly, and take short walks around campus. He wasn't really the most interesting of people, was he? He looked toward the wall and sighed, his hand coming up to rub at his face. He couldn't answer Decran with something like that, he didn't want the other boy to think he was hopeless or something... But on the other hand, he couldn't lie about himself either. There was no way around this.
"Uh... I take walks, sleep, try to study. That's pretty much it." He replied, his voice softer than before. "I'm not too active, really. I like to be able to relax when I feel I need to. ... I guess that makes me really boring, though."
He took another sip of soda and tapped against the can before continuing.
"But... I do watch TV, just not a lot of it." He said. "I just think a lot of what's on TV these days is weird, you know?"

Decran snorted and shook his head. “You’re not boring. Walking is a great hobby to have. And there’s nothing wrong with wanting to rest on your down time.” He raised an eyebrow, small smirk on his lips. “You like to eat too.” He grinned and took a sip of his soda. “I have to agree. There are a lot of weird things on tv. Though I do admit I take a sort of guilty pleasure in watching cooking shows. I don’t know why.” He chuckled and sipped some more of his soda. “What about movies? What’re you into? We could maybe watch one? Kill some time and give Beta some more alone time and maybe a chance to wear himself out.”

Zephyr couldn't help but smile at how accepting Decran was. Beta was always so hard on him for staying home and reading so much. It made him feel as though he were a huge thorn in Beta's side instead of his roommate and best friend, which was what they were. At least, that's what Zephyr had thought for all these years. The Fallen's wings gave a twitch.
"Ha, that too! Food is awesome." He cheered, shaking his can of soda from side to side. "And I do enjoy cooking shows for the most part. I like the one with the guy who goes all around Below and eats in the most obscure places he can find."
He paused a moment at the movie questions and tapped his chin. Uh... Well.
"I sound like a freshling, but do you like any of those kids movies? Like the one with the bushy haired Imp who accidentally turns her mother into a giant furry beast?" He asked, blushing a bit. "... If not, I'm fine with whatever you want to watch. This is your dorm, after all."

Decran raised an eyebrow, not expecting that choice in movie from the fallen at all. It just so happened, however, that he had a few of those ‘kid movies’ and he was more than glad to watch them. They weren’t something he watched often anymore but he just couldn’t seem to bring himself to toss them out. Nostalgia, he supposed. “Pfft. It’s my dorm but you’re my guest. Sooo…” He trailed off as he nudged Tepin’s head off of his lap and stood. “I think…” he moved over to his bookshelf and squatted to open one of the side doors. “Yuuup,” he said as he pulled the movie, Zephyr was referring to, out and holding it up. He grinned when he turned. “Got it. I’ll just...pop this in and then make us some popcorn.” Decran took the disc out of its case and slid it into the player atop the shelf and wandered back over to the kitchenette and started to make some popcorn. When it was finished, Decran moved back over to the couch and plopped down. Pressing play for the movie, he held the bowl of popcorn out towards Zephyr and smiled. “Want some?”

Zephyr was thoroughly relieved that Decran hadn't thought he was weird for liking kids movies, but he supposed that was just part of the Imp's nature. He was already accepting and pleasant, why would he fuss over something like choosing a movie to watch? The fallen slid to the side a bit as Decran hopped off to make popcorn, aiming to lay his head down, and turned his head up when Decran returned. Mmm... Popcorn did sound good. He reached out and grabbed a decent sized handful.
"I really like the music in this movie, almost as much as I like the characters." He said through chewing. "The way they set each scene with sound alone just makes it all the more interesting. What do you think?"

“It’s been a while since i watched this one, I admit. I don’t remember too awful much of it. I do remember liking it, for the most part, though. So it’ll be nice to rekindle the experience.” Decran took a handful of popcorn and stuffed it into his mouth. The snack was one of his favorite parts about the movie theater experience. He wished that there was someway to recreate that exact taste theater popcorn had. For now, though, he would settle for what he was able to make at home. It wasn’t long before Tepin rejoined the party by curling up next to Decran’s feet. He gave a small yawn as he leaned back and made himself comfortable for the movie.

 (Time skip)
Zephyr didn't know at what point during the movie that he had started to feel tired. He'd first yawned during the arrow shooting scene, then once again when the protagonist's brothers started causing mischief in the great hall, but soon after that... He'd slid to the opposite side and fallen asleep against Decran's shoulder. Though, at the moment, he actually didn't know that. He was blissfully dreaming while the credits began to roll in front of them, the light from the screen casting lights and shadows against his smiling face. Whatever he was dreaming about had to be something nice for him to be smiling like this. Perhaps it was one of his favorite food-themed dreams again? Or, was he dreaming of something, or someone, new? Only he would be able to tell.

Decran had blinked when Zephyr ended up leaning against him, surprised at the contact but only smiles when he glanced down and noticed that the fallen had fell asleep. He moved, shifting and situating himself so that he could lay his arm around Zeph’s shoulders as he took in the rest of the movie. Surprising enough, Decran had managed to stay awake for the rest of the movie and when the credits rolled, he glanced back down to Zephyr, head tilted. An urge to lean down and kiss the fallen washed over him and he flushed at the thought before tamping it back down and away. He would inspect that feeling more, later. For now, it was late and he was pretty sure Zephyr wouldn’t want to spend the rest of the night on his couch.
Though… Decran moved, using his free arm to shake Zephyr awake. “Mmm, wake up sleepy head. The movie’s over and you missed most of it.”

Zephyr wasn't easily jostled awake, so it took quite a few shakes to tear him from his dreaming. When he did wake up, however, the Fallen quickly scrambled into a seated position. Oh no, how long had he been sleeping on Decran? This was so embarrassing! He clasped his hands and sucked in a breath. Okay, all he had to do was breathe in, keep calm, and try not to look frazzled. Act casual.
"Oh, damn. I'm sorry." He chattered, rubbing the back of his head. "Did you enjoy it? I mean, uh-"
He paused, turning his attention to the window to the side. Whoa, was it nighttime already? He must've been pretty comfortable...
"It's pretty dark out. What time is it?" He asked, glancing around for a clock. "It can't be too late, can it? That movie isn't very long. ... At least I don't think it is."

Decran smirked and gave a small chuckle as Zephyr pulled away from him quickly. “Mmm, long enough for you to fall asleep and for it to get dark. And I did enjoy it. I forgot how good of a movie it was. A shame you missed it.” He glanced out the window and frowned. He really hadn’t expected time to fly by so quickly. When he pushed himself up off the couch, empty popcorn bowl in hand, he glanced back towards Zephyr. “You’re welcome to stay if you’re still tired. Beta might be playing his music loudly still.”
