Teo had just begun to wonder if he was going to lose the fight when his father was suddenly yanked off him. Stunned, he stared through the churning water at what was undeniably his sister attacking Cualli. He had no love for his sister, but it was Cualli that he wanted to see die first.
As she held onto his neck, Teocipactli began to bite at his father's underbelly. It was still armored, but less so than the hardened back. Together they both bit, tore, and punctured. Though they did not speak, something like a mutual understanding was passed between them. They wouldn't hesitate to kill each other if given the chance, but now was not that chance. Now was when they used each other to eliminate a hated part of both their lives.
Dimly, Teocipactli registered shouting in the distance. He could sense movement in the water, other alligators sliding in to try to save their patriarch. It was too late.

This was her moment of divine fate. Nateica knew this as clearly as if it had been sent to her by a divine messenger.
Of course, she didn't need any pathetic messenger to tell her what was right. As her brother tore into her hapless tribemates, she raised her voice high enough to be heard even above the screams. "He rips through you like cobwebs!" she roared, the water above her back dancing with resonation. "Only I can save you. Worship me and keep your lives!" She was animated with delight. The terrified alligators stared at her in mute horror, clearly weighing their choices.
They chose correctly.
"Please, save us!" cried out the smallest, and the rest followed. The pathetic creatures gave their will to her will as pathetic creatures always did sooner or later. They recognized her natural superiority and could do nothing else.
"Today, you live," she hissed, a promise but not a lasting one. Worship was good, but she would demand more from them later. For now, it was time to fight.
She turned from them, becoming a living torpedo as she shot towards her brother. He had almost finished killing the last of the group when she hit him, jaws clamping shut on the end of his tail.
