She knew these woods, grew up in the Jungle of Loka Nei. Was used to jumping over trunks and rocks to chase monkies.
She just wasn't expecting Remy to be the same.
"Well see about that!" Almost as if on cue, her next footstep went farther down than the others. "AHH!" Soliel sharply cried as her body momentum carried her forward with her balance knocked off. Crashing her down to the ground. She landed with a soft grunt and rolled, scurrying back onto her feet to start to run again. But by that time, there was no gap at all.Wolfs Heart She's not hurt XD just surprised

Remy's eyes grew wide as he saw Soliel stumble up ahead. He quickened his pace even more to see if she was alright, but she was already rolling back up. He tapped her on the shoulder. "You ok?" She must have been, considering she looked ready to have another go, but he was still concerned.

"Oh rats. You got me." She felt the tap before she could begin running again. The demon turned around with a slight hop on her foot, offering what she hoped was a reassuring smile. "Yeah, rabbit or snake hole got me. Cursed things are impossible to see under the leaves."
Aw, he looks concerned. How cute. She thought to herself, bringing another more genuine smile.

Remy tilted his head, "pretty lucky you didn't hurt your ankle then..." He was relieved that she was ok. Who knew, she actually might have outrun him if she hadn't tripped, she had been taking the rocks and trees like a champ. "You want a rematch?" He chuckled. "We could race back to the basket."

She nodded before perking right up at his suggestion. "Really? Yeah! You're on!" Chance at redemption! With a wide grin she crouched slightly in a ready position. "We go at the count of 3? 1...2...3!"

Remy nodded his head, "just watch where you're going this time, ok?" The male reared up, ready to go with ears flush against his pastel hair. At three he pushed off from the ground and took off as fast as he could. He couldn't remember exactly where the basket had been dropped off so he relied on his nose to sniff it out once again. He took care to avoid the area where Soliel had recently tripped and then over rocks and around trees. He actually managed to fall behind, she was pretty agile.

She nodded to his caution before she started counting. The instant '3' left her lips jumped into action. Her starlit feet bounding across the ground as she used the occasional push of her wings to help over the occasional obstacle.
It took her a moment to realize however, that she was maintaining first position. Was he going easy on her because she was a girl, or was all that monkey chasing paying off? "I'm gonna beatcha!" Soliel called over her shoulder, leaping gracefully over a trunk. She already had the beach in her sights.

His purple eyes narrowed as Remy tried to run harder to try and catch up. He had let her think she was going to win for long enough. "Not on my watch," he called out to her.
As they both reached the sand he was still just a little behind her with not much more to go before they got to the basket. Soliel might actually win this thing, Remy was impressed but not about to give up.

Her big talk seemed to spur an extra burst of energy in the male. Good! A challenge! Her laughter rang out in the crisp air like wind chimes, feet crashing into the sand. Running on the beach was much harder. It sapped the energy, and was hard to push off. She saw him catch up in her peripheral, trailing just behind.
As they raced across the sand, the beach swallowed the gain she had made in the forest. But the basket was in her sight. She was going to win, victory would be hers. Just a little further, just a little- "Here!" Soliel shouted as she 'crossed the finish line' of the basket. A moment before realizing that he was exactly neck and neck.
The demon burst into a fit of giggles as she collapsed onto her knees. "A tie?! No way!"

Remy grinned, relieved for the tie and not a complete defeat. "I guess we're well matched." He chuckled in between breaths as he bent over, panting slightly. "Strawberries for both?" He asked, looking up at Soliel. The teen had a one track mind, and wanted to make sure there was still a treat with his name on it. Hey, he was a growing boy.

She could live with a tie, but for dramatic effect she pouted playfully. "I'd like a rematch sometime!"
At the mention of the strawberries, she laughed all over again before opening the picnic. She had completely forgotten about the 'prize'. "Well, I have a bunch of sugar coated fruits. Would you like a strawberry, slice of orange, slice of apple or two blackberries?" She pulled out an orange piece for herself, the sugar still adhering well to it from the chill in the air.

Remy laughed loudly, "I guess if you really, really want to lose we could have a rematch." He said it with an obvious wink, teasing her. He let his knees crash into the sand, and peered into the basket, watching Soliel pull out an orange. He took another whiff of the basket, his mouth practically salivating. The strawberries still smelled the most appealing, but he wanted to try something else. "How about the apple?" He asked. Looking back out at the water, he remembered why he was getting to eat some of the treats. "Sorry things didn't work out with your friends."

"You're so on." She teased right back as she pulled out an apple slice for him. "Oh, yeah." At the reminder she looked up to the still waters. Their game of tag hadn't lasted very long, so it wasn't as if they'd pop up and she missed them. "It's okay. They're family actually, so it's not like I won't see them again." She'll just have to nag her brother to bring them up home sometime soon.
"At least today wasn't a total bust." Soliel proceeded to take a bite of her orange, savoring the sweet juice and the sweeter sugar.

Remy accepted the apple as he sat down the rest of the way. He munched on the apple greedily. "Family?" He asked in between a bite, having a hard time imagining it. His ears perked and his tail wagged, today wasn't a total bust, hey! That was his doing. "I think it was an awesome day," or part of a day since it hadn't been so long yet. Remy finished up his apple slice rather quickly. "Do you live near here?"

She quickly devoured the rest of her orange as she nodded. "Yup, family. Nereus and my brother Junior fell in love, and they had Aysel!" At least, thats what she always assumed. The yellow sprite was a fish pae like Nereus, but looked like the spitting image of her brother.
Her eyes flicked to his wagging tail, bringing out another smile. She really liked his tail, it looked so fun! She wondered if his tail was soft like his ears looked. She perked up herself as he commented on the day. Did he like hanging out with her too? The demon felt herself warm with a light blush. "Kinda! I'm a few hours fly away from here, so as long as I don't stay here too long I should make it back before dark. You?"
If he lived nearby, maybe they could see each other again? She didn't exactly have too many friends.
