Twisting a curl of synthetic hair around his finger, Vulpin perused the orangeblood's wares. He hadn't expected his recreational walk to lead him to the festival, but he hadn't been particularly aware of the holiday in the first place. He had never been a fan of large group celebrations, finding them inane unless they benefitted him. If he didn't make anything out of it, it wasn't worth his time.

Nonetheless, the little orangeblood's booth caught his eye. He couldn't turn down a good competition, and certainly not one that would test his hunting skills. Silent, he listened to the girl prattle on, only speaking up when he had finally made his decision to enter her little contest.

"The gerbils," He said, curt. Disguising his voice an octave higher, it almost sounded like he had a hint of emotion in him. "The knife," He continued, eyes trailing back to the colored yarn. "The yarn, too," He pointed to it, nodding. It seemed like a useless sort of item, but he knew better than anyone that everyday items could always prove useful. At the very least, it could help him retrace his steps if he got lost (which was of course, unlikely).

He would hold onto the rest of his money. He saw the use in some of the other items, but he wasn't about to waste all of his hard-earned beetles on a trivial game. Gathering his things, he clicked his tongue and made his leave, deciding to start his search in the meadow. Ever since the hunt, he avoided the woods if he had the option. Besides, this was just a fun game.

Strolling through the meadow, Vulpin peeled off the path, preferring the cover of the high grass to the leisurely trail or the pastel flowers. His eyes focused on the ground below him, keeping careful watch for the prized mushrooms.
