I'm not so good perhaps at defining things, my parents were married..I think but probably not in a conventional way or at least not that I know but they were together for a long time before that. Ah, Ime had been hoping that Thorn would have a better idea about this all than her. It didn't seem he did. Her smile faltered but only so she could suck on her lower lip in thought.
"I don't want you to go anywhere, Thorn," she said finally, "There's a lot I don't know about you, and I suppose a lot you don't know about me, but... should we care? If it doesn't work out-- I mean, I hope it does, but if it doesn't, we just... go our separate ways. Stay friends. No harm done. If we part now, though..." A sigh. "Mama's house isn't big enough. I love her, but we both know it's time I go out on my own. If we can, I would like to see if we can't... get a place. Together. Even if just for now."

"I would like very much to get a place with you Ime." He said seriously. He hoped they would last too. So far she accepted him and he accepted her and love was the spark that would hopefully grow to a flame. He took her hand and placed it over his heart. "The only way we can get to know each other is with time. I'm willing to spend my time with you."

Ime's smile slowly returned and she dropped to her knees as Thorn took her hand. She pressed against him, her free arm holding him closely. Good. So they could agree on that at least.
"So you'll come with me when I travel? Or will you stay behind?"

"I would like to come with you if I may, I'm used to moving and I don't know what I would do with myself..bake cookies perhaps?" He grinned. "I look really good in an apron." He waggled his eyebrows at her playfully. "But I would prefer to travel, I like seeing new places too, meeting new people."

"Good." Ime smiled and tilted her head up to kiss Thorn's chin. "If I hadn't started traveling, I'd never have found you. Who knows what we'll find? Together. You and me." She may be the main financial support for the both of the, but that was fine. She was doing well. She had repeat clients. Business was booming.

"We can enjoy many adventures Ime. I wouldn't want to travel with anyone else." He could pick up odd jobs along the way, a strong back was a good asset. He tilted his face down so he could kiss her properly, touching their lips together and kissing her gently.

Ime accepted the kiss, and the arm previously around Thorn's back moved up to tangle in his long hair. This was love, there was no doubt of that, and if she could accept that he led a life of thievery there wasn't much they wouldn't make it through, right?
"Promise me you'll stay with me," she whispered.

"I promise to stay with you Ime, unless you ask me to leave. Promise me you will not ask me to leave." He loved her, and he felt that it was a love that would grow with each day and each moon. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest. He kissed her again. "Promise me."

There was no time to respond before Thorn kissed her again. Her hand clutched his hair a moment, then moved to his jawline. Her heart was pounding, but it wasn't nerves, it was just emotion. Oh, Chi, she had never imagined she would find this. She returned the kiss and then nodded, remaining nose-to-nose and fore-head-to-forehead.
"I promise," she said finally and wrapped her arms around him to squeeze as hard as she could. Let there never be a reason for her to break this promise.
