Goopy was having a grand time with his new furry friend, when suddenly something big started to come their way! Does this big thing eat Gooplings? Better to be safe than sorry, Goopy oozed its way to the bottom of the pile, trying to stay out of sight of the big thing that had tripped on Goopy's trail of slime... Oh no! The slime! All the logs he had slid through were now covered in it too! This big possibly Goopling-eating monster was gonna find Goopy and possibly eat Goopy! He stayed as still as he could at the bottom of the log pile, trying to think of a way to escape...

Trent reached toward the pile of logs, but as soon as he did he recoiled from all of the slime covering them. Was this some kind of fast growing mold? It was on the ground too, as evidenced by him falling in it. Was it something carried in by that fog? Whatever it was, it was too dark now to see it clearly. He hoped that when he checked it in the morning it wouldn't be too damaged or unusable for the winter. He bent down to pick up the logs he had dropped, placing them in a separate pile away from the slime contaminated ones.
As he bent down, he noticed something lodged in one of the gaps of the slimed logs. Reaching in, he felt something...furry? And a little sticky. Cailly gave a high squeak at the contact, wriggling around to try and move away from the Woodsman's giant hands, but even with the resistance he managed to pull her out anyway.
"Well what do we have here...some nasty critter from the fog?" he growled, causing the pet to struggle even more. As she chittered angrily, and got around to face the burly man, he could see the blue bow tied around her neck that a leaf had stuck to earlier.
"Why, no! It's Martha's little thing..what was yer name...Cailly?" he asked, bringing her closer to his face. At the mention of the name the shrill one kept saying around her, she froze, blinking up at Trent. Ah! Loud-Smelly one! She recognized him as one that was around Shrill-voiced. Twisting back toward the woodpile, she squeaked in the hopes to convene to her slime friend that it was okay to come out.
"Ah, no little 'un, you can't go hidin' back in the pile. Ye migh' get sick from the mold." he tried to calm her down, placing her within his vest. He would have to go and take her to Martha immediately. The poor gal's been worried sick about it.
Cailly tried to squirm her way out of the vest, but it was no use. It was dark and warm, and she was so tired, pretty soon she stopped resisting and fell asleep.
Goopy had been very quiet and very nervous of being caught and eaten, but the big giant instead got the furry friend! It made some strange sounds at the friend before putting her in his pocket and walking towards the town... Wait! You can't take furry friend! What if he eat her?!
The brave little slime, intent on saving his friend from the giant one, slid out from the wood logs and followed the giant as stealthily as a Goopling possibly can, though now that it was night he would be able to hide and move around much easier, aiding in his mission impossible rescue! Goopy will save you! ...Eventually!

It had all gone smoothly, the beast did not see her slip away into the darkness of the forest, too intent on devouring the flung piece of meat. Hurrying back the way she came, carefully avoiding roots and fallen trees so as not to add any more injuries for the day, she arrived within the area of habit within an hour of sprinting on and off, checking periodically behind her to see if the thing was following her. The moon shone clear above the treeline, lighting her way home.
Tired and out of breath from running, she quietly slipped onto the front porch, trying not to step on any creaky boards, and made her way inside the house, locking the door with the heavy bolt. Catching her breath, she quickly ate a small bite of bread and prepared herself for bed, laying tentatively on the thin straw mattress. She would have to see Yvenne in the morning about the wrist. She frowned down at it, irritated by the swelling and discomfort. But most of all irritated at her sudden inability to hunt big-game for a while. They would have to rely on trappings until it healed, and that might pose a problem for supplies later on.
But...that would have to be dealt with later. Right now she needed to sleep. She can discuss things with Lonnie in the morning. Closing her eyes, she drifted in to blissful oblivion.
THUMP
Her eyes flew open, expression of abject horror. Lonnie shot up in his bed, rubbing bleary eyes with a "Wuzzat?"
It didn't...it couldn't! Throwing the blanket off of her, she rushed to the front door, the source of the noise. Flinging the door open, she was greeted by the sight of a large dead elk laying across the entrance...and the thumping tail of the creature from earlier.
"Oh you have got to be kidding me," the Huntress groaned, placing her face in her non-injured hand. Lonnie came up to the door and gave a start that the scene before him.
"Uh...sis...is there something you want to tell me?" he said flatly, staring at the elk, and then back at the creature.
"Yeah...we have a slight problem," she replied, heading around to the back to go and collect her tools. The Farmer just watched the thing, its rudder-like tail pounding the earth in anticipation.
"Were you the one scaring my cow?" he asked it, not really expecting an answer. Rubbing the back of his head, he turned to look in the direction his sister had gone in, "Whewie...slight is not the word for this."
Galemnius
It watched as the door flew open and the two-leg looked out. <<Four-leggy good?.... much want foods...>> It's tail still thumped the earth. It had another brief flash of memory, It had brought back foods to the little sprogs and the mate. This made it happy and it nudged the elk carcass closer to the ...<<New two leg...? Are more two legs?>> A slight panic hit the beast, <<Bring more foods for two-legs?>> The other two-leg didn't look pleased, the Galemn decided to wait for the other two-leg to return. <<Why two-legs?>>
Blue hat? Check. Sweater to keep out the cold? Check. Boots? Check. Treat for the puppy? Check. Little Nikole ran around the house, preparing to go out on another exciting adventure to the next town. Her grandmother's eyes smiled over the round-rimmed glasses that balanced delicately on her nose. Ah, the energy of youth.
"Okay Granny! I think I am ready to go!" the little red-head exclaimed, head peeking up from the other side of the table.
"Are you sure now? You aren't forgetting something?" Beety asked in a playful tone, slipping out of the chair she was in to go and stand near the door.
Nikole craned her head in thought, a puzzled expression wrinkling her nose. She suddenly beamed, rushing over to her granny and wrapped her arms mostly around her. "Right, gotta hug Granny before I go!"
Chuckling, Beety looped the bag that the girl used to carry the mail in around her shoulders, before opening the door for her. Nikole bolted out into the morning, whistling for the grey dog to join her on her quest.
She waved softly as they exited the town, that tiny sense of worry lumping in the pit of her stomach, as it did every time she watched them go. It was only a short distance, she kept reminding herself, only a short walk.
As she turned to enter back into the house, her eyes widened when she saw two figures walking over the hill. The twins? They rarely both came to the town at the same time. This was a certainly a surprise.
After preparing the large elk brought to them by the strange beast, Leira had led the creature over to the storage house, baiting it with a large portion of the meat. Since it seemed to enjoy eating the offerings, she figured it wouldn't do much harm to the grains kept there. Lonnie was not too keen on the idea, but felt that it was a better option than having it free to roam about and possibly attack the farm animals.
The two then began preparing the meats for immediate curing. It was more than enough to replenish the supply that the Huntress had lost in her attempt to lead the thing away, plus she could give the portion to Otis' family that he asked for (along with his strange request for the innards...for the dog?).
And that is what the two were delivering right now, eyes puffy and sore from staying up for an entire day and night, carrying the huge parcel of meat all the way to Beety's house. Lonnie had to travel with his sister to ease some of the weight off of her wrist, and of course they would o to visit the Healer about it right after the delivery. The Farmer could not help but have a smile plastered on his face at that prospect.
The previous night, Trent had brought up to the inn Martha's pet, sleeping within his vest and in desperate need of a bath. One of the maids informed him that the Innkeeper was not feeling quite well currently, after taking a rather large dose of sleeping medication given to her by Yvenne. The maid thanked the Woodsman and gently took the sleeping creature from him before bidding him farewell.
And this was when Cailly was rudely awakened by being dunked in a bucket of water.
"H-hold still you little beastie!" the maid grumbled, agitating the fur by rubbing it underneath the surface. She reached across from the bucket to grab some sweet smelling oil and began setting it into the writhing pets fur, the sticky sap finally releasing its hold and the dirt being removed. Once she was done, she placed the quivering pet onto a cloth and set about drying the fur until it stood on end and crackled with electricity. A new blue bow was selected and tied around her neck. Stepping back from her work, the maid gave a tight nod and scooped her into her arms, taking her to Martha's room and setting her in her basket.
Cailly gave an indignant squeak at the maid as she exit, which was returned by the girl sticking her tongue back out at her, before swiftly closing the door behind her with a quiet snap.
One thing that was for certain, Cailly hated baths. And the maid that gave them to her. She curled her body around herself and settled into the pillow, returning to sleep in a matter of minutes.

<<What this?>> The Galemn had been through a few of the bags in the shed, none of which contained meat. It didn't like the weird grains and seeds. But it had a plan. <<Find things>> Not the best plan but it worked for now. After pacing around some more it realized a key hiccup in its plan. <<How get out of square?>> It looked around the room, finally alighting on the familiar rectangular shape of the door. <<How move?>> It remembered seeing the two-legs put their strange fore legs on it to move it. <<Use Legs?>> One leg. <<Move>> Both Legs <<Move please?>> After the door crashed down, the Galemn smiled at its ingenuity. <<Find things now... thankyou two-leg entrance...>> Purpose renewed, It set out to find some new meat for the weird two-leg foodmakers...
Goopy spent all night following the giant back to the inn, watching as he opened a large door to the brick tower Goopy had met the furry friend at in the first place. Goopy wibbled up to the big door, sizing it up and trying to figure out how to enter when the Giant man opened the door again to leave, Goopy getting swept by the door and squished into a little pancake on the front of the door.
Taking a couple minutes to get unstuck from the door, Goopy realized that he must have to wait for a giant to open the large wooden block for him to get in. But the sun was rising, Goopy couldn't sit in the hot sun all day waiting, and what if a giant saw Goopy and tried to eat Goopy? Looking around for a way to hide, Goopy found the perfect thing! Going over to a tree that had been shedding its leaves, Goopy rolled around in the dead leaves until he was covered. The perfect camouflage! Goopy then went over to the front door of the inn and sat there waiting for a giant to open it. What a good plan!

Scáthach had been spending the past few days and nights to get acquainted with her new location, trying to find the best places to hunt and sleep being her priority. She was now lurking in the village to observe it's two-leggers and their strange habit of not leaving milk out for her. She knew it was because they didn't know she was here yet, but that didn't excuse how rude this was. Didn't they have other felines they should be leaving milk for? Humans!
Wait, did something just move by the towns inn? If the large feline could frown she would as she watches the strange green goop try to enter the inn then go cover itself in leaves. Did it think it was being sneaky? Poor thing probably wouldn't know sneaky if it bit it in the butt.
... Did it even have a butt?
(Edit: I just realized I never said where she was, pretend she's laying on a roof or something.)

The Twiggs set off once their delivery was made to go and find Yvenne. Lonnie had an idea of where she might be this time of day, and steered his sister in the direction of the Healer's herb patch. Looking in every direction for her, he was disappointed to not see her green braid anywhere nearby. Leira rolled her eyes at him and his hopeless romantic antics.
Yvenne was actually checking in on Martha, after hearing from a maid that she had taken more than what was needed of the sleeping medication. The Innkeeper glared sullenly at the young woman as the inquired as to how she was feeling.
"Terrible, no thanks to you." she croaked. When she had awoken, she had a feeling of nausea and dizziness, that put her out of commission for managing the inn and bar. Thankfully, the maids had been able to keep up with most of the jobs, so it wasn't a complete loss.
Yvenne tsked at the older woman, making her another tea to help settle her stomach. Thanking the maids for bringing her hot water, she noticed the tiny pest over by the window, staring out across the lawn at something.
"I see your pet has been found." she stated simply to Martha, a wry smile ghosted across her mouth before her face returned to its normal calm. The Innkeeper narrowed her eyes at her, glancing over to Cailly.
"Yes...Trent found her and was a dear to bring her home." She didn't say a word about her behavior the previous day, nor did Yvenne expect her to. She just lay there, hands across her stomach, fingers twitching nervously. The Healer sighed, placing the tea on her bedside table and gathered her things to leave. Once she had left the room, Martha lowered her eyes back to her hands and whispered a quiet, "Thank you."
Cailly looked over at her owner, giving a questioning chirp as to the noise. Shrill-one was hardly ever that quiet. Shrill-one not well? Climbing down the windowsill, the fuzzy creature made its way up the blanket and nestled herself in the crook of Martha's neck. The woman reached up and gave her a light pet, before reaching for the tea.
The Healer stepped out of the inn, and immediately felt a chill go up her spine. The breeze hadn't quiet turned so cold yet, and she was left with a feeling of unease. Eyes scoping the area, she noticed once again the odd trail of slime along the ground, leading to a pile of leaves by the door. The pile seemed to quiver strangely. Walking over to it, she began to reach down to inspect what might be in it...

After some patient waiting, another giant opened the door... Did that giant have a Goopling on her head? ...DID THE GIANT NOTICE GOOPY? Oh no, the giant was reaching out to touch Goopy! This was not a good plan, not a good plan at all!
But look! The door was open! In an attempt to flee with his life and continue the mission, Goopy slimed as fast as he could into the door, trailing slime and leaves behind as he looked around the inn frantically for a hiding place, sliding under a table and wibbling in terror. You won't get me, Goopling-wearing giant!
Scáthach couldn't laugh without giving herself away, but she did have a grin that would make the Cheshire Cat proud. She had never seen anything like the slime creature but she already liked it. She eyes the one she assumes is this town healer, every town she had come across seemed to have one that dealt with herbs and she certainly smelled like it, and wondered if she would have to save her new source of amusement from harm. It could also be amusing to watch the slime meet it's demise, but not if it came too soon. Her wispy tail flicks back and forth as she ponders her decision. After a moments thought she hops off the roof and starts creeping closer to the inn. Even if she decided not to save the slime creature she wouldn't be able to see anymore of it's antics from the roof.
It was only a few seconds later that she tries to hold in an irritated sigh. There wasn't much cover that she could use on the ground and not much in the way of shadows during the day which was why she had been o the roof in the first place, hiding can be hard for a cat her size. The two-leggers here hadn't seemed too observant yet so maybe she could get away with this...

Yvenne gave a very uncharacteristically loud yelp as whatever was under the leaves suddenly made a break for the open door. Leaving the slime trail and fallen leaves behind it, it was easy to follow its movements within the inn.
A maid shrieked at the sight of all the mess it had left in its wake, hurrying to go and fetch a mop and bucket of water to clean it before her boss got out of bed. Martha was a stickler for things being spotless within the building.
The Healer recovered from the initial shock, and quickly followed the trail to underneath the table. Crouching down to get a look at the thing, she saw it quivering and shaking in fear. It was unlike anything she had ever encountered in her travels, nothing like it existed in her homeland, and they were known for exotic creatures. Take the pest for example, it was a native to her island home! But this, with its gelatinous form, was completely foreign to the foreign Healer!
"What are you?" she wondered aloud to it, looking around for something to use to draw it out from underneath the table.
Most of Goopy's leaves had fallen off during his fleeing, and now Goopy felt very afraid and exposed as the Goopling-wearing giant stared at him from outside the table. So distressed was Goopy that he didn't notice the strange feline watching the two from the door. This was it, Goopy was going to be her new hat! He would never see the furry friend again-
The furry friend! Where was she? This building is so big she could be anywhere! But Goopy had to find her! So Goopy slid slowly backwards and away from the healer, sliming his way over to the bar in search of the furry friend.

The Cheshire grin is back as the large feline watches the antics from the door. No one seems to have noticed her so far and she is perfectly okay with that, things won't have to get messy if she has to flee. She glances around the rest of the room before creeping under a nearby table to hopefully not be seen immediately by any of the rooms occupants. Not the best seat in the house but beggars can't be choosers and all that. She settles down to watch the show, wispy tail curling around her paws as she sits.

Following the slime slowly, Yvenne failed to notice the large cat that had stalked near the front door, trying to figure out what to do about the strange creature that was trying to evade her. As the two traveled into the bar, the Healer took note of the various containers positioned around the room. Maybe if she could lead it over to a barrel...
The maid returned with her cleaning supplies and made herself busy scrubbing the slime covered floor. Muttering under her breath as she did, she started first from the table and moved to the entryway, wiping away all of the icky mess. When she looked up to survey her work, her eyes fell upon the large feline creature. Caught unawares by the sudden appearance, and the very appearance of the cat itself, she opened her mouth and screamed.
------------------------
Upon hearing the alarmed maid, Martha dropped her tea cup in surprise, the liquid staining her blankets as it soaked into the fabric. Cailly shot out to hide underneath the bedside table, startled by the sudden movement.
"What on earth is going on down there?" the Innkeeper questioned, slowly rising out of her bed and attempting to make her way to the door without upsetting her stomach too terribly.
