"You keep that towel on, Athena," Zahneel spoke with a quiet firmness. "You won't do yourself or your dad or Myles any good if you don't take care of yourself."

She'd been just as shocked as the rest when the nixie admitted to forgery. But like most, she could understand why. And her heart ached for the other girl. Feeling greatly daring, she reached out to hug the nixie girl, not minding the damp from the towels. And as she listened to what everyone was saying, she found herself nodding.

"That woman who took your dad should absolutely be stopped. He didn't do anything wrong and neither did you," she pointed a stern claw at Athena. "Not really. Something else we should do is get you and Myles to the Headmistress so you can explain. Maybe she'll let you and your father stay here if we ask?"

She glanced at the Baphomet girl, hoping that her idea wasn't completely terrible. She wasn't sure how Athena or her father might be punished for the forgeries, but surely staying at the school would be better than whatever the other nixies might do. But first, that Elena person had to be stopped. Or at least slowed down and distracted.

"Tobias," she said as she began to push the rest of her towel supply towards his way, "take these and distract Elena. Just say that you know how much drier the air is here and you don't want her or Athena's dad to dry out too badly. Cause as many distractions to slow her down as you can without making it too hard to walk for Athena's dad. Right?" she shot an encouraging glance at the nixie girl. The question of whether or not this Elena was Athena's mother was a lesser priority at the moment.

"We'll help you. Both of you. But we need the Headmistress. If we can make her understand, I'm sure she'll help you guys. She should still be in the auditorium, right?"

When the group outside started to make their way toward the cafeteria Foras had remained at first. He needed to pack up his coloring pencils tat were scattered around him from where he'd been doodling. He packed them up and neatly put them away in his bag he was surprisingly organized for such a young Nightmare. He stood when Batholith suggested that they follow after the crowd, from a distance of course. Much like they had been slowly watching them the whole time they had been outside.

Once they arrived at the cafeteria he couldn't help but follow Batholith's lead and ask for an orange juice as well. He was a little amused by the look on the serving ladies' face when she had to grab one yet again. He sat down next to Batholith a few tables away form the crowd that was gathered around the new Grimm and Nixie. He placed his bag and notebook next to his tray on the table and had already eaten a bit of his food by the time things started to tak a turn for the not so pleasant.

He had watched the scene with his ears hung low on his head. Just what had happened? It was confusing and loud and before long the older Nixie, apparently Athena father, was dragged away by another Nixie. Had he done something wrong? If anyone had done anything wrong he would have thought it was that tall dark Grimm that was current;y in the auditorium....

He peeked over at Batholith when he said his name. Stop him? Was he thinking about going after that woman to confront her? "Do you think Headmistress Ava is aware of all this....? Do you think she would do anything to stop all of this from happening? I mean...The Nixies have been in hiding for a long time...Do they have the same sort of laws as us? I'm not really sure we should get involved...." He wasn't sure what to think of the strange fish-like Nightmares. But if they had their own rules and customs, than should outsiders get involved in that? They had shut themselves off from the rest of Nightmare culture...

User ImageSara looked around--it seemed like everyone was looking at her. Why? Why was everyone looking at her? She didn't have the answers. And she wasn't in charge here. ...Unless it was because she had been taking action. Oh. She had been taking action, hadn't she? Oh dear. Well, if everyone was going to look to her, then, um...she might as well be someone to look up to? Oh, this was going to end so badly...

"Ah don't think we're entahrly banned from the Auditorium," she said. "After all, that hahbrid went there, and Ah thank we would've heard back already if he'd been barred." She turned to look at Neptune. He looked so nervous, and yet, from the way he had been talking, she was sure that he was serious about this. He needed to do this. And while she didn't entirely approve...well, if he needed to do this and he needed moral support, then she could give that to him. She smiled at him, took his hand, and gave it a good squeeze. Then she directed her attention to the dark Grimm girl (she was going to need to get a few more names after this). "Ah think that sounds lahk a good plan. Maybe one of us could go fahnd the headmistress and ask for her help. But y'do need to stop her as soon as y'can."

The meeting in the auditorium had essentially come to a close after the new Nixie had made an appearance on the scene. So many unsettled matters, Krestel had returned with a freshling Grimm in hand. Even Conan had bristled at that. Persephone was quick to lead the little Grimm out, though Conan agreed with some of what the little dude had to say. He would love for a Grimm of his 'ancestral home' to remain here and teach them about their culture that they had assumed was lost. However, he wanted to be free to live the life he'd always known as well.

Ava left the stage then, not sure where she was going exactly. Mink and Krestal wandered off as well. With Ryuuichi also gone, there didn't seem much of a need for him to stick around. He was hungry anyway, it was just past lunch time. He sighed and turned to his sisters. "We might as well get out of here. I don't really think anyone's going to be taking the Grimm from the Academy any time soon." He was more concerned about the apparent crime that the Nixie had committed to come here. Well, it was too late to go back on it now. The Nixie were outed, who knew how many individuals had spotted them on their way here. Honestly, Conan was a little surprised they hadn't been stopped by this Nixie woman long before arriving at Asphodel Gardens. It's not like they were hiding themselves...

He made his way toward the cafeteria and just as he was about to step inside the doors opened and the Nixie woman was leading Ryuuichi away in a set of cuffs. Come on, the dude could barely walk. Was there really a need to be so rough with him. He stepped out of the way however, not wanting to get involved in the Nixie business. Even Ava hadn't stopped the woman from going after Ryuuichi. He watched them for a brief moment, to see where they were headed, and then entered the cafeteria which was currently exploding in noise and conflicting emotions.

He dropped his ears back on his head so this is where the younger members of the welcoming party had been. The young Nixie was crying, of course she would be. He headed over to the group to see what they were discussing, it seemed like they all must have bonded in the time he'd been stuck in the auditorium with the adults.

When a younger Grimm mentioned the Headmistress he couldn't help but intervene. "We just came from the auditorium and Ava made no move to stop Elena from going after Ryuuichi. This is a Nixie matter after all. What authority does Ava hold over them? None. Besides, while she was just in the auditorium, I'm not sure where she's off to anymore." He wasn't bothered by the fact that Ava had done little to stop Elena. The Nixie's surely had their own laws and customs. And apparently Ryuuichi had broken them, though unintentionally.

"I'll admit that this is a sucky situation. But it's Nixie business. I doubt you'll be able to change Elena's mind on the matter....Or Ava's." He stood there with his arms crossed, his tail twitching back and forth behind him. He was a little annoyed by all of this commotion. Who were these Nixie to them anyway? All they'd been doing for the World of Below for years was hiding from them and concealing the fact that not all of the Grimm had died during the war.

User ImageDamn, Foras, why did you always have to make the same decisions? Ugh. Batholith wasn't ready to be a role model. He'd actually have to be--ugh--admirable to do that. But he didn't have the heart to tell the kid that. He just wasn't ready to. Someday he would have to, or some hour or something, but not right now. The world was too stressful right now for a little kid. Turmoil and all that.

Apparently Foras hadn't heard his comment, except to hear his name. Bath was grateful for that. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that someone needed to do the thing he was thinking of, and these kids were not going to do it. They were thinking too short-term. They were thinking about rescuing Ryuuichi or "stopping her" or something. She didn't need to be stopped. She needed to be...redirected. Turned in a desirable direction. The plan was gelling in his mind. He was going to need some time to finalize it, though, and he wanted to do it in a controlled situation--i.e., away from these kids.

"I can't imagine she doesn't know, Foras," he said quietly. "And I don't think she'd do anything to stop this, no. This is a Nixie matter. If it were someone at this school, or someone who had formerly gone to this school, she'd stop it. She's vowed to stop any attempt at taking away any student. But this is an international matter. Headmistress Ava can't step in and tell them that they can't arrest a criminal." As for laws, or getting involved? He shrugged. "Some of the laws they probably have the same, others probably vary differently. Every country's got their own laws. I don't think you should get involved, Foras. This is about to get really ugly here."

That doesn't mean I shouldn't get involved.

User ImageThe sound of another voice joining the conversation caught Sara's attention. The voice belonged to a hybrid--part Grimm, part Baphomet, part Fallen. But what he was saying was far more important than his odd appearance. Okay, so Ava was nowhere to be found. That was troubling--she could have been a powerful ally in this. Or....could she? She had just let Elena leave, chasing Ryuuichi out. Did she not care, though? Did she truly not care? She seemed like a just person, one who was compassionate and, and, just...

Sara didn't know who this new hybrid was, but she did know that she did not like him, at all. Not even being part Baphomet could prevent that. How could he be so thoughtless?! Athena was sitting right there, this was a time to be optimistic and comforting, not, not, nay-saying! "Is there anythin' else you'd lahk t'say?" she said. Her voice was cooler than a gale off the arctic ice cap, and sharper than a vorpal blade.

User Image Athena wasn't sure how to answer Myles, not sure if she wanted to take comfort in him or not. "I just wanted to see the world..." She whimpered, "And Dad wasn't going to let me go alone..." She buried her face into his chest, finally giving in. His next question caught her off guard, she wasn't sure at all what to say. That pearl...the feeling she briefly had when she touched it...That gave her a bit of doubt as to what she had thought.

"I-I don't know..." She whimpered, looking away, "Mom's supposed to be dead...I-I...I don't know." She buried herself into him more, so unsure of everyone wanting to go confront this person...that could be her mother.

Foras frowned, this was all becoming very complicated very fast. He was likely too young to understand the full depth of the situation that was forming here. The appearance of the new hybrid only added to the confusion in the room. So Headmistress Ava hadn't made any move to stop the arrest that they had all just witnessed. He let out a little sigh and played with the food on his plate with his fork. He didn't really see a way out of the older Nixie being arrested, but the other seemed optimistic enough.

He looked back up a Batholith as he spoke. He could tell by the way he spoke and warned Foras not to get involved, that he planned on getting involved himself. He put his little hand on top of Batholith's. "Can I go with you....please?" Maybe if Foras was there he could be of some help to Batholith! He didn't want to just leave him. He also didn't think it was fair to be left out of this himself. He was part Grimm after all! Albeit a very small part Grimm in a mix of so many other races.

User Image Zahneel smiled at the Baphomet and her tail dared to give a tiny wag. She was getting ready to volunteer to hunt for the Headmistress when a hybrid she didn't know came in and spoke up.

And then, it was all she could do to keep her jaw from hitting the floor. Of all the insensitive... Turning so that she was between Athena and this newcomer, Zahneel felt her hackles raise as she assumed a protective stance and bared her teeth for perhaps the first time in her life.

"How can you say that in front of his daughter," she hissed in outrage. "I don't care if it's a Nixie matter, a Grimm matter or a school matter! Mr. Ryuuichi didn't do anything wrong! And he certainly doesn't deserve to be dragged around and called a traitor. Maybe you don't care about what happens, but we do!"

Mind spinning, she tried to figure out where Headmistress Ava might go if she wasn't in the auditorium anymore. They needed an adult on their side.

Conan clenched his clawed fists together at the attitude he was shown from the Baphomet junior. He certainly hadn't expected the Grimm to bare teeth at him. He didn't think he had said anythign that warranted such a cold reaction from her. He had merely started the fact that he knew given what he'd seen in the auditorium. None of them had been there, they didn't know Ava had already reaction to this new development. She had glanced at Elena's papers long enough to know where was there with permission, and then had just let her go.

His tailed flicked behind him, more agitated now than it had been before. Why were they defending these Nixie! They'd been hiding from them since forever! Why were they hiding? In his experience you hid from society because you were doing something wrong. It was bad enough for him that they'd kept Grimm hidden for so long. After the war, the Grimm should have been able to come out of hiding!

He didn't bare his teeth at the fellow Grimm. He merely glared, his purple eyes becoming small slits at the sudden aggression being shown at him. He felt like he was being the better Nightmare by now being aggressive in return. However, if pushed he wouldn't hesitate. He had Cammy and Cherish on his side, or at least he thought he did.

"Listen here, I'm just telling you what I saw in the auditorium. I'm not telling you to not care! I see that she's upset. But even she probably know just how hard it would be to convince this Elena woman to back down. And we all know Ava's stance on the matter already. Sure, you could try to convince her and I'm not going to stop you all if you want to. By all means, go try." The last word came out in a growl.

"I find it hard to trust a race that kept themselves from us for so long. I'm not sure what sort of bonding has gone on here. But if you could see things the way I see them, I think you'd understand." He couldn't be the only one with a mistrust toward this Nixie. It didn't matter how nice a small handful of them were, and by that he meant two. They didn't reflect a whole race of individuals.

"If you want to catch up with Ryuuichi and Elena though, you'd better hurry up. They're probably half way out of the building at this rate." If they really did intend to go and put a stop to all of this, they had better things to do than turn on him. These people were hopeless, but then again many of them were still young and quick to react in a situation. He'd seen the direction they had gone in, but like hell he'd be telling any of them that now. They could just wander the entire school grounds. He could care less at this point. He'd never felt so out of place in the Academy before as he did right this second.

User ImageBath really thought he was better able to keep his emotions out of his voice. If a kid could figure out what he meant, then he really needed to work more on that. Or maybe the kid had just picked up on his peculiar phrasing, who knows. "I'm not acting right now," Bath said. "I'm going to work on it later. I've got some preparation that needs to be done. A little information gathering. I've--"

He was interrupted by the shouting coming from the other table. Another hybrid had arrived and was getting his ears quite thoroughly chewed off. It did not escape Bath's attention that the attackers were all pure-breds...and their victim was a hybrid. "I've got to deal with this, Foras, if you'll excuse me for a minute." He got to his feet and, with a few quick strides, was at Conan's side. He started with the dark Grimm, the one who had really flipped out. "Calm down," he said flatly. "No one's set your tail on fire. The trial hasn't started yet. Could be at the end of the day that Ryuuichi is a traitor. Or it could turn out that he's totally innocent, as you say. This is a legal matter, girl, not a moral one. It's up to the courts to decide, not you."

Now for the rest of them. "I don't think Ava will help," he said. "I think we should try to get her help anyway. But I don't think she can step in on this. She's a headmistress, not a princess. She doesn't have authority outside of this school or its students. Ask her for help anyway--it can't possibly hurt." Well, okay, it could, she could forbid them from doing that, but this lot wasn't going to listen to her. They weren't listening to anyone else, after all.

"Whatever you do, do it quick," he added. "The new Nixie said she's going to wait for the authorities to come and pick them up, but that could be any second now. Dithering in place isn't going to get anything done--if you think you can make a difference, convince her to stop being such a colossal--jerk--then do it now. Do not wait. Stop patting yourselves on the back for being so righteous, and get. To. Work."

With his piece said, he turned to the other senior. "Come on, join us at our table," he said, quietly enough for him to hear but no one else. "Leave these hormonal dip****s to their hormonal drama."

The room had erupted into minor chaos, so much to the point he'd almost missed what Athena had said in answer to his question. His ears flicked back a little disappointed she didn't have the instant sense of something being a definite yes or no. Would he know if confronted with the same situation? Hard to say. Even then he heard the doubts. She wasn't sure, but some part of her thought so. It must have come when she touched the pearl too. He wasn't entirely sure how the pearl displayed the information that was stored in it. He'd never touched his parents one after all. It seemed to just hold sensory impressions, but it was possible that if one of the people who'd actually imbued it touched it...

It was getting to loud to think. Couldn't they settle? "Look if you're going to go then go! I don't know how far you can go from the Academy...and that wom-- Elena may not be moving at Ryuuichi's pace!" granted Ryuuichi could move rather quickly when he had too, but he usually had his cane. Myles wasn't sure how far the Elder could would without his cane, but it was unlikely that Elena would care. "Yes, the headmistress let Elena come to take Ryuuichi, but I really doubt she meant for her to traumatize everyone in this room seeing something like that. She seems to care about everyone's well-being so use that!?" he shrugged. He hadn't spent much time around the Headmistress, but considering she'd been ready to go to war with Kestrel on the steps he didn't think she'd like someone causing trauma to her students.

All he needed was a few minutes of peace to figure this out. He had an idea, but only part of one. He wasn't sure at all how to implement it at all.

Foras smirked, he knew Batholith was up to something! When you tell a kid not to do something, as an adult or close-to adult individual, that usually meant you planned on doing that very something! He wasn't surprised at all that Batholith had some sort of idea on how to handle this situation. He had a feeling he was experienced in some way. And he had gone to the auditorium before, if only briefly. He could have known something the rest of them didn't, in the same way that this new hybrid seemed to know some other things.

He didn't get a chance to respond to him, as things took a turn for the worse over by the other group. There was yelling, and there hadn't been yelling before. He nodded to Batholith when the older Nightmare got up to intervene in the situation. He watched as one Grimm bared her teeth at the other. Weren't they all family here? He looked a little concerned to see the situation erupting like this. At least Batholith said a few words to try and calm them all down.

He watched the crowd as Myles also attempted to get them all under control again. What were they doing fighting amongst themselves anyway...

User ImageShe hadn't really expected anyone else to react with vehemence to the newcomer's tactless remarks, but when the darker Grimm spoke up in anger, she felt her own righteous indignation kindled. "Bondin's got nothin' to do with it, this is people actin' like godsdamn people an' not lahk rats on a sinkin' ship!" Sara started to say, when she was interrupted. The first hybrid--the jerk from way back in the courtyard--was back, and of course he was taking the purple one's side. But much as she hated to say it, that pig had a point. Trial...legal proceedings...

Sara was still too distracted to say anything, and she was glad for it, because Myles interrupted at that point, and he...well, if it was true, he had a point, right? She looked around. She'd never met Ava herself, didn't have a good hold on the headmistress. No one she knew had ever met her--

But the first hybrid, the red one, was nodding as if he knew. As if he was agreeing. She looked around. "Ah thank," she said, in a voice that was not so much loud so much as...projected, a voice that everyone could hear, "that we should talk to Ava. And that if we're gonna do anything, we should do it now. Strahk whahl the ahrn's hot."

Kobe watched as everything unfolded. He looked up to Tobias as he spoke up, surprised but happy he did. He'd follow whatever his packmate did... especially since he looked up to Tobias. He shifted a bit to be closer to his packmate, trusting him more than anyone else there. He was still rather surprised that Athena had done something bad, even if he was quite sure what forged meant. He looked up to Tobias, "I'll follow you... " He told him, concern in his expression.

Kobe looked to each other nightmare as they all spoke, he wasn't sure what was going on. He understood the choice they had to make now... To go after Ava or Elena. Either way, Kobe wasn't sure how much help he could possibly be... he was just a kid.
