Turn 5
110 - 100 = 90 - 15 = 75% Chance
140 - 100 = 40 - 100 = 60 - 15 = 45% Chance
700 - 300 = 400 DMG
550 - 300 = 250

Damn it, damn it, DAMN IT! These guys turned out to be way too good for the small creature. Frustration grew inside the thing as it scampered, doing its best to stay out of the way of the attackers. Nothing WORKED though! Every single time, the two would still manage to land an attack on him. Each. It was hurt, barely able to move without pain shooting through the creature. It continued to try to run, trying to wave between the swords and blades with as much deftness as it could muster.

Unfortunately… It seemed that nothing it would do would be able to help. The first attack missed, as did the second. But the third… The third was the dangerous one, piercing through the creature's skin. No, this was the end. Everything was over for it. As it felt the steel pierce it’s imitation flesh, it knew it was done for. It let out a quick scream, if only to let the Illusionist that it was gone, before finally unraveling into a ball of code. The creature was now gone, a vibrating ball of jumbled code which bobbed barely a foot off the ground. It could only hope that one would absorb the AI so it wouldn't die forever.

Turn 6

She wanted to say she felt bad. Really, she did. They had followed her willingly, fought and died for her without question, and had provided companionship. Ugly as all sin companionship, but companionship all the same. However, she couldn't bring herself to care. Not that she cared to really try though. Why? Well, now the two delicious specimens had nothing else to focus on but her. It was a sort of giddy feeling to know that finally they would pay her the attention she was deserved!

She tilted her head when the one said they had fifteen minutes. Less than, actually. What exactly did that mean? Were they trying to rush things? Well that was no fun. She planned on really enjoying their company. For hours upon hours, days upon days. Maybe she should get them collars and leashes? Make sure they didn't try to bolt. Oh wouldn't that be fun! Maybe get a whip involved again, see if they enjoyed it.

She quickly shook her head. She was getting lost to fantasy, and that just wouldn't do. It was time for reality, and perhaps with enough effort she could make her fantasy a reality. She looked over at the two men, who suddenly appeared to be able to fight together like they had been doing it for a while, and wondered how she should handle this. To this point, neither had been hurt, they both looked equally tired, and now the tall one had finally shown something that would make him worth targeting, outside of being the strong one. He seemed to be the one who was making the whole teamwork thing work.

This left her in a bit of a pickle. On the one hand, she could take out the brains of the operation. The one who made the plan that turned this whole fight in their favor. The short little piece of colorful eye candy. On the other hand, she could take out the brawn of this battle. The one who was truly the monster on this battlefield. The tall glass of water. It was not an easy choice. To buy some time, she decided to talk to them. "Now that was just rude. Denying a lady her loving fan base. How do you plan on repaying me, hmm?"

Her words were playful, but it was obvious she didn't care about them. Even more so when the energy she made her weapons out of light up in a bright burst of light to reveal two handfuls of the daggers from earlier. "So boys, which one of you wants to play with me first?" She said in a provocative way, before puckering up and making a kissing noise at them both. Finally deciding, she lifted her arms up and let loose one volley, followed closely by the second, both aimed at the same target they'd been wearing down this whole time, hoping that at long last she would finally get him to go down and become the submissive little puppy she wants.

                                        Turn 7

                                        81 - 100 = 99 - 15 = 84% (Illusionist)

Oh, yes. Now they were getting to the good stuff. Dal’Mori and him were still working that beautiful formation that they had begun a few attacks back. It was amazing, and without much coordination at all, but they managed to pull it off beautifully all the same. Akio greatly enjoyed the flair it added to the attacks, the two of them flipping around and over each other like they coordinated everything getting Akio pumped for a good rest of the fight. The results of their joint attack was a dead Turbine Beetle, which was anything and everything that he could have asked for during this fight. Still, he would like more than ten minutes to finish this final enemy off.

Ten minutes… That left no time to dilly dally. Both of the Baiters would have to really step up their game to take this enemy out as soon as possible. Turning around, he began to work his brain into thinking of the best strategy to do so. There was a high chance that she was going to go after Akio specifically, leaving Dal’Mori uncovered and generally left alone. While Akio was faster, Dal’Mori was able to land a stronger blow in the end. That made him ideal to be point. So far, Akio was able to dodge all of the attacks that had come his way, but was unable to land anything close to an attack. Clearly, that meant that things needed to change.

So, Akio gripped his sword, the lighting surrounding it with a new vigor, arcing from the tip of his sword to the ground around him, even radiating from his hair and piercings. A smirk rested on his face, knowing that the Illusionist would have to go down soon. He just hoped that the plan would work out. All he had to do was make sure that Dal’Mori was able to pick up on the plan and work from there. He was a smart man. He already switched stances to work with the ever changing flow of battle. It was honestly better than anything Akio could have done, unfortunately not having the veteran knowledge that Dal’Mori had. Still, he was at least good with strategies.

The feminine AI moved sexually, doing things in such a way that if she were human Akio wouldn’t have been able to look away. However, because she was an AI, a bald glowing green AI, all he could do was grimace. God, she even spoke like she was hot s**t! Akio made a face at the thing, mumbling “I’m not even sure you ARE a lady…” before taking off to the side to avoid being hit by anything. She just kept attacking him. Good, that meant the plan wasn’t a waste of brainpower. Akio rolled to one side, avoiding the first of one of her attacks. The knives came at him fast, sticking in to the ground in clumps next to him. He couldn’t help but imagine them sticking that far in his chest. Before he could even recover, he had to roll out of the way of another attack. These ones stuck in the ground with the same power as before, this time all he could do was imagine them stuck in his thigh. And damn it, he was getting tired. He still wasn’t used to being on the battlefield for so long, especially not after being the one who has to take all the attacks. Akio, sadly, had his work cut out for him.

Akio stood, focusing with all his might on the task at hand. He ran forward, lunging himself at this creature. He already knew how the b***h thought, all he had to do was get through to her. As he ran, he swung his sword in an upwards angle, lighting sparking off of it every which way. All he could hope for now, was that at least of of the men land a hit.

Dal'Mori Cestrol Menne

Turn 7

The feeling of his blade sinking into the pseudo-flesh was satisfying to say the very least. The little creature had proven to be far more annoying that he had hoped, and the fact that it was finally dead was something that left him quite pleased. He watched as the creature seemed to evaporate from around the deadly tip of his blade, leaving nothing behind, while turning into a small, floating orb of light. Finally, they were down to the last one, the honest evidence of such right there before his sight.

He turned his gaze towards his comrade, and noticed the man looked more than ready to keep going. He respected that. When it comes to Dal'Mori, he was used to it. He had spent, not only years training for fighting, but years fighting. His body, his mind, hell some might even say his soul, were all born for combat, hand crafted for combat, refined by combat. His existence was defined by combat. His very life revolved around it. It just made sense for him to be here, fighting with every ounce of his effort.

His partner on the other hand? Not to sound insulting, but he was not. He fought for a decent reason, that was for sure. To understand your enemy is the ultimate goal of any true warrior, which mean given time Kawaguchi would be one of the greatest. So, the fact that he was, right now, so without hesitation, so ready, it was something worth noting. The man had bared the weight of every attack since the start of the fight, was probably exhausted in a way he probably doesn't normally feel, and was still going. It took an exceptional will to do that, and that was what Dal'Mori respected.

He turned his attention to the Illusionist who spouted on about being a lady, having her fans taken away, and then about playing. All of these things actually grated at the warrior's nerves. It was a creature. Not a lady. It was actually less than a creature. It was a despicable, murdering, mindless machine designed to pretend to have some kind of soul. That it would pretend to love, or that it could be loved sparked a flame of anger within Dal'Mori.

Something that was becoming frightfully easy.

Though this time it was likely a lot easier because of what this specific enemy had done. Regardless, he lifted his weapon and slipped into a ready stance. Kawaguchi had taken lead, and being the seasoned warrior he was, Dal'Mori was not only able to accept that, but work around it. Thus, he waited, patiently, for the lead to take charge and/or decide a strategy.

He admitted, secretly, that he found himself a little envious of his partner in the next moment. The man lit up like the night sky during a huge storm, the very elements that shot through the sky on those nights danced around his body, enhancing his intimidation factor. It also, very likely, had plenty of practical value. Dal'Mori had seen it strike a tree once, seen the damage it could cause, so having it be capable of being summoned at will naturally had to be very useful.

He shook his head free of these thoughts the literal second the lightning wielder shot forward, dodging the first attack by sending himself farther away from the warrior, and closer to the Illusionist. Then again after the second attack. This caused Dal'Mori to lift an eyebrow for a single instant, before the idea hit him dead on. His partner was intentionally drawing the attention to himself, acting as a distraction so that...

That! Right there! The Illusionist turned its back to Dal'Mori to pay attention to Kawaguchi as he rushed towards it. Wasting absolutely no time from this opportunity, the spear holder shot forward as fast as his legs would carry him, rushing forward like gale force winds. Just as he came within striking distance of the creature, his body set itself perfectly, without thought, just pure instinct, before his arms thrust the sharp end of his spear forward at the unprotected spine of his opponent.

Turn 7
100 - (110 - 107 =) 3 = 97 - 15 (Stamina) = 82% Defense Chance. (Akio 1)
100 - (140 - 107 =) 33 = 67 - 15 (Stamina) = 52% Defense Chance. (Dal'Mori 2)

This was interesting. She had seen this little trick of his before, obviously, he had been using it throughout the whole of the fight, when he destroyed the Vault Buster, when they killed the Turbine Beetle. It was very neat to say the least. Now though, now it was gorgeous to look at. He was generating enough that would make those stupid Shock Troopers look rather boring in comparison. Then again, that might be because he has amazing hair that was all standing on end because of the lightning, giving it a rather extraordinary look. On top of that there were those piercings, which just danced up and down with the element.

All in all, one could easily call the man sexy. Entrancing. Hypnotizing.

She couldn't keep her eyes off of him as he dodged around all of her attacks. She would have ordinarily considered it annoying, perhaps even on the end of aggravating, that she had yet to land an honest blow on her soon to be pet, but the beauty he now showed with such dramatic flair blew those thoughts away, as a gust of wind would knock over a house of cards. It was an incredible sight. Something that made her very pleased. She had not only found two incredibly strong people to replace those two imbeciles that had been tagging along because of her strength, but one of them was the equivalent of finding a diamond in the dirt. Perfectly cut, and beautiful all on its own. Even as he came in with his weapon alight with the same beauty that decorated his body, she couldn't help but admire him, her own easily shifting to the side of the incoming blow, making it null.

It made her feel positively giddy!

However, before she could truly delve into the possible outcomes of having such gems under her thumb, her senses went haywire, and without a second thought she surrounded herself with a perfect orb of green light. There was the sound of grass cracking from behind her, causing her to turn around within the bubble and see that while she was busy ogling the sheer beauty of the lightning covered male, the one with a river of hair came up behind her in an attempt to regain her attention. As he attempted to remove his weapon, she smiled lovingly. "Oh my darling, don't you worry. You'll get your turn soon enough. I promise. You just have to wait your turn." As she said that, her hand phased through the bubble around her like it was made of gas, even while his spear was held fast despite his attempts to remove it, and gently rubbed along the side of his face.

She ignored the look of disgust on his face, he was just upset he wasn't getting her full attention and she was okay with that. He would need to learn anyway, so why not start now. With that thought, the bubble expanded exponentially, pushing him away like he weighed nothing, and knocking him on his back. He was a diamond too, but he was still rough and uncut. That would be remedied with time. She turned her attention back to her current favorite as the bubble completely dissipated from around her. "You on the other hand, my precious little gem, are going to become my little pet. Now..." She said in a calm voice, a smirk settling onto her lips as once more a whip appeared in her hands in a burst of light and energy.

"Let's teach you how to play nice!" She said before unfurling the whip and cracking it towards his leg, attempting to wrap it around his leg and trip him up. The whip was a very impractical weapon in combat, because it wasn't designed to do a lot of damage, but that was the Illusionist's way. She wasn't the one on her team who was supposed to do the damage. She was simply too pretty to chance getting blood or anything on herself. The first attack was followed by her jerking her arm back, bringing the whip flying above her head before snapping said arm forward, aiming directly for her chosen target's center mass, both of her attacks were designed to drop him to the ground, beneath her, where he belonged.

                                        Turn 8

                                        81 - 100 = 99 - 15 = 84% (Illusionist)

Perfect. Dal’Mori had picked up beautifully on what his plan was. The warrior was a smart cookie, and Akio could only hope that the plan would work. The Illusionist was paying the utmost attention to Akio now, as well. A smirk rested on his face knowing that this would be the ultimate downfall of the Illusionist. All he had to do was keep it up. Not much of an issue, right? Akio was getting increasingly tired, though. He worried, if even for a moment, if the effects of the pollen would get to him faster than Dal’Mori. Akio was smaller, for one, and seemed to be a lot more worked up than the other man. Akio was worried. Worried more about how he didn’t know what the effects would be like for him, or what that would mean for him. Damn his horrible sense of curiosity for picking this place!

Still, he had a job to do. Keeping up with the plan, Akio continued to release a steady stream of electricity from his body. She was still paying more attention to him than she was Dal’Mori, which meant he was doing his job. Still, though, when the stronger man went in for his attack, the Illusionist slapped him away like it was nothing. Akio’s horrible habit came into play then, gritting his teeth as he thought about what was going on. The AI spoke about making them her pets, something that he was wildly uncomfortable with. Sure, being dominated in bed was something that could get him going under normal circumstances, but in this case the thought of an AI thinking it was on the level to be able to do that was… Well, it was disgusting. Not only that, but play nice? As if.

The whip came for his feet first, snapping at them with a loud snap as he moved away, gracefully dodging away before it could do anything to him. So she liked it that way, hmm? The smirk played on his face once again, the wheels turning in his head. He might get a better shot at distracting her if he gave the damned thing a small taste of what it wanted. Just after the whip cracked once more near his chest, he stepped back and gave the thing a sultry look he knew would set her ablaze. “My, don’t you like things kinky. Why play nice, when you could play… Rough?” There was a small husky emphasis on the last word, then a small pause.

But soon after, he ran forward in another attack, lighting trailing behind him in an alluring blaze of glory. Slicing up into the air, Akio aimed to cut open the front of the damned creature, hopefully taking it down with only a few decent swings. Again, he wasn’t a power house at the time being, but damn it, he sure would be a good distraction to let the support come through! He just hoped it would work this time around.

Dal'Mori Cestrol Menne

Turn 8

It was rather nice. Working with someone who was capable of teamwork and such. Faelan had been a great asset in their fight, but truthfully there was no style or teamwork involved. They both split up right in the beginning of the fight, so they weren't even near each other, and then come the end of the fight Faelan had completely let himself be absorbed into that feral mind frame of his, making teamwork impossible.

Here though, it was completely different.

Kawaguchi was not only great at teamwork; he was the main one coming up with all the battle plans. It wasn't that Dal'Mori wasn't a leader on the battlefield, it was just Akio was better at it. The man had a mind for strategy, one that he was sure even Kheni would have some difficulty with. It wasn't just that Akio came up with the plans, it was the speed at which he came up with them, combined with how fast he implemented them. On the fly, in the midst of combat, the man drew all attention to himself and created a perfect opportunity to attack.

It was a beautiful effort towards teamwork, using their strengths to their maximum efficiency.

That is, until it turned out the thrice damned Illusionist was much more perceptive than one could figure. It dodged the first attack sent its way like it was made of air. Honestly, it was floating, so it made sense. However, the part that really ground his gears was the fact that in the instant his spear would have been thrust into its spine, a complete bubble surrounded its body, stopping his attack dead in its tracks.

In the next moment he came to regret finding amusement in his partner being kissed earlier, for she turned around and spoke to him as if he were an impatient child, all while touching his face through the shield that held his weapon firmly. He wanted to vomit. He could feel the bile building in his throat, as he lost some of his sense, and blindly pulled on his weapon as hard as he could in an attempt to remove it. This left him vulnerable to the expanding of her bubble, which sent him tumbling backwards a good number of feet.

He struggled to his feet, the revulsion from its touch, pollen and length of the fight to this point were all causing him issues. He took a moment to catch his breath, waiting for his next opportunity. He had to admit, Kawaguchi was good at dodging. A whip was not an easy thing to get out of the way of, he knew from personal experience.

Once again Kawaguchi began distracting the Illusionist, turning its weird fetish against it. He shook his head. He wouldn't have thought to do that, but then again, such things never really interested Dal'Mori. He quickly rid himself of these thoughts as he spied it, the movement of muscles that indicated Kawaguchi was preparing an attack. He slipped into a charge stance, and readied his weapon, before taking off like a freight train.

The idea was, the second the attack that his partner caused the Illusionist to move, if it even caused her to do that, he would be able to shift immediately, and strike at her when she finished moving. It wouldn't be much of a good distraction if he waited until it was completely over, now would it? The second he was within range, regardless of which direction she went in, he would swing his weapon as hard as he possibly could, aiming for her midsection. If he had a sword in his hand, one could imagine he was trying to bisect it with this blow.

Turn 9
100 - (110 - 107 =) 3 = 97 - 15 (Stamina) = 82% Defense Chance. (Akio 1)
100 - (140 - 107 =) 33 = 67 - 15 (Stamina) = 52% Defense Chance. (Dal'Mori 2)

She felt the energy coursing through her body start to wane. For the first time in a long time she was starting to feel tired during a fight. Normally by this point the body sapping duo had left her opponents husks of themselves, ready and waiting to be killed at the Illusionist's whim. Now? She was alone against two very... Uncooperative spirits. While it will be great when she turns them into her pets, she couldn't deny she had to put in too much effort. These people were taking so long to just succumb to her desires.

Didn't they know she would bring them pleasure? Sure, they had to be good at their jobs as pets, but she would teach them and eventually they would grow to love it. At least, until she found better ones.

She watched as the shorter one dodged the first attack with the same grace as a dancer, or perhaps more accurate, a predator in its element. As the next attack came forward, she knew it wouldn't land, his body was already in motion to be able to get out of the way. She sighed as she allowed it to dissipate, she would need to use the rest of her energy intelligently. Which would mean she would actually have to revert somewhat back into your typical Illusionist mode. She shrugged slightly. So long as when all was said and done, they were her pets she would do what needed to be done.

That is, until the short one responded to her advances positively.

Her eyes widened and a smile came onto her face, the likes of which could cleave it in half. "Oh baby, how'd you know I like to play rough?" She said in a seductive tone, to return the playful banter. Perhaps this wasn't going as bad as she thought if the one sparking with electricity was already in on the game. She stared at him, loving the view and his sudden willingness, not even taking a moment to question its validity.

As he came in, moving at an impressive speed for someone who was part human, she smiled widely. "Oh that's right my pet, come to your mistress!" She shouted before a massive shield appeared in her left arm, not unlike a Spartan shield, and knocked aside the blade. The sparking lightning and the twist her body had to take to block the attack, allowed her to see a glint coming from her unguarded side. This, in turn, allowed her to spin in place and block the second attack with ease, he weapon simply being directed by the large green shield.

She glared at the tall one, and tsked him a few times. "You really must learn some patience. I am playing with my other toy right now." She said to him in the same kind of tone she used before, akin to the way one might speak to a naughty pet. She nodded with a humph, as if that was the end of that, and turned her attention to the target of her attacks since the start of the fight. "Now where were we sweet cheeks?" She said teasingly, before chucking the shield at him like a frisbee. She immediately followed up by forming a bow and arrow in her hands, and firing a rather nasty looking barbed arrow at the Baiter.

Hit or miss, with either of them, she would immediately dissipate them, needing the energy they were consuming to stay constructed.

                                        Turn 9

                                        81 - 100 = 99 - 15 = 84%

Damn… This was way too tiring for Akio’s liking. As he dodged the explosions, and the whips, and the knives, Akio felt closer and closer to his limit. As soon as this battle was over, the first thing he was going to do was nab some food, probably even a nap. Taking a deep breath, Akio made sure that neither him nor his partner had sustained any injuries. But instead of finding that both were good and ready to fight, He found that Dal’Mori was reeling from the fight, though he also seemed positively green. No matter how stoic one’s face was, it was hard to keep exhaustion off their face. Still, they had to keep on fighting, and keep on pushing until the very end. ‘I know, buddy… Me too…’ Akio thought, turning to face his opponent once again.

There was only disappointment when their combined attacks did nothing whatsoever once again. Damn, this creature was just so damn frustrating! No matter what they did, no attack was getting through to it. Was it because they were tired? Or was it the pollen already taking hold on the soldiers? Akio gritted his teeth, not wanting to think about that possibility. They still should have about ten minutes, right? So, Akio took a deep breath to calm himself, forcing him to think clearly. Truth be told, it made him somewhat sick to be pretending to flirt with this damned thing, though he was good at that whole flirting thing. He smirked in response to the Illusionists question, though, before his attack. How amusing.

But even still, his next attacks would never connect, and neither would Dal’Mori’s. Gritting his teeth, he looked around, to find a better option. There had to be one! Akio stood up straight, a smirk planted on his face in attempts to hide his frustration. While it was clever for them to bait and attack, it seemed to not be working. At this point, Akio wasn’t even sure if it was because this thing was actually just better than them, or if it was just lucky. Still… The current plan was probably the best option available, he just had to think of a new way to taunt her. A way which she would be unable to look away from. So far, lying to her kinks was getting more and more into what he was looking for in the battle.

But ugh, she called him sweet cheeks. Quickly, Akio stepped to the side to avoid the shield, then lifted his sword to take out the arrow that flew towards him, the blade cutting the arrow in half. Mmmm… It felt good to continuously dodge everything that came his way. Damn, he was getting all sweaty, too. This battle really was taking a lot out of him.

Suddenly, the smirk widened on his face as he got an idea. Grabbing his shirt collar with his free hand, he pulled it from his skin, fanning himself with his shirt. “Aiiya, it is really warm, isn’t it?” A light chuckle escaped his lips before he sheathed his sword. His idea was risky, but he was willing to do it for the win. For the battle. For his partner. Gripping his shirt at the bottom hem, he pulled it up and off, revealing his toned abs and many perfectly lined tattoos. The man was attractive, and he very well knew it. So, he tossed his shirt to the side, giving the Illusionist a sultry look, and a light wink. Pulling his blade out of his sheath anew, the lightning danced along his skin and his blade, lighting up his beautiful crevices and piercings.

He only could hope that the sight was enough of a distraction to land at least a couple blows. Readying his stance, Akio smiled at the AI, “Now… Where were we?” Akio dashed forward, his sword gliding up along the supposed woman’s chest area. He only hoped that she was distracted enough to ignore the attack.

Dal'Mori Cestrol Menne

Turn 9

The warrior literally growled, like a rabid animal, as his attack was batted to the side once again. He couldn't understand how this, this thing! Was so capable of this level of efficient combat. Even he would have some problems with a pair capable of pulling off this distracting, sneak attack act. Yet at every turn this blasted beastie was turning aside all of their attacks like they meant literally nothing! No matter how calm he was capable of being on the battlefield, even he couldn't swallow that medicine without a nasty look.

It was a bit of a pet peeve really. Growing up it was how he was trained, by just about everyone who trained him in anything. Beat him into the ground, and then ask him what he learned, all the while nothing he did was ever effectual. No matter how dedicated you are to getting better, that kind of irritation sticks with you, and when it happens in a real life scenario, it's practically designed to pull feelings like that right to the surface.

Though, he had to wonder how the Illusionist was handling it, given that Kawaguchi was doing literally the same thing to it and its whole team.

When the stupid beastie turned to glare at him, Dal'Mori found indignation spouting from within him, and he glared back. Suffice it to say, if looks could kill, the Illusionist, and just about everything thirty feet behind it would be a smoldering wreck. The fact that she then spoke to him as if he were a naughty child this time around caused him no shortage of anger. He quickly snuffed it out though, as he would be no use to his partner bathing in anger, but there was a notable heat in his gaze now.

Once more there was a small pause as Kawaguchi... Stripped? Quickly blinking away his confusion, the warrior focused back on the fight, worried they were going to run out of time at this rate. Already he could see the edges of his vision shifting. Already he could feel his mind getting altered. Things were getting dangerous. That was certain. He hoped his partner knew what he was doing spending precious seconds on showing off his bare body. He also hoped that he didn't come to regret the choice. Clothing may not offer the best of protection, but it was a far cry better than exposed bare skin.

Immediately after that thought, his fellow Baiter rushed in and attacked. This, like every time before it thus far, set Dal'Mori off like a firecracker, his body snapping forward much like the whip the beastie had been using mere moments ago. This time he forwent stealth, and simply hoped the distraction from Kawaguchi's attack and body was more than enough to keep the damned things focus. Within a blink of an eye, the warrior was within striking distance, his weapon coming down like a hammer from the heavens, aiming to crush the A.I.s head in a single blow.

Turn 10
100 - (110 - 107 =) 3 = 97 - 30 (Stamina) = 67% Defense Chance. (Akio 1)
110 * 5 = 550
107 * 3 = 321
Damage: 229

100 - (140 - 107 =) 33 = 67 - 30 (Stamina) = 37% Defense Chance. (Dal'Mori 2)
140 * 5 = 700
107 * 3 = 321
Damage: 379

A cloud in the sky shifted over her position for a brief moment, darkening her form and the area she stood. For some unknown reason, this seemingly innocuous instant of random chance sent a chill down her spine, as though something terrible was about to happen, something dark, perhaps even sinister. It left a feeling of dread in its wake. However, shortly after the cloud moved on, allowing the unfiltered sunlight to once again grace her magnificent self, banishing away all dark thoughts.

What did she have to be worried about? This fight was hers to lose. Sure, neither of them had taken any damage, but neither had she. She was simply too magnificent. Her beauty turning aside all forms of attack, easily. Some might argue it was her incredible defense, and while she wouldn't disagree completely, she would state that it's not her defense that saves her but her good looks. She simply looked so beautiful, her enemies didn't want to harm her in case they damaged her gorgeous form.

As she glared at her soon to be tall toy, she noted he had a fire in his gaze and she couldn't help but be filled with a warmth. That kind of spirit was always the most fun to break. So strong, so willful. They always put up the biggest fight, and came crashing down the hardest. It was rather magnificent honestly, and she couldn't wait to be the one to put him in his place.

Turning her attention back to the main focus of her attention, the one who was swiftly becoming her favorite, she couldn't keep the smile from her face as he dodged her next two attacks. It wasn't that it made her happy, far from it, but it did leave a good taste in her mouth. They would make excellent pets indeed. One already a gem, ready to play, the other rough and uncut, ready to be carved into perfection. Her eyes stayed glued to him, something drawing all of her attention. Perhaps it was his confidence, perhaps it was his looks, or maybe it was her own personal preference, but something kept her attached to this particular Baiter.

Then he began taking off his shirt.

Her eyes raked across his half nude form, drinking in every detail from just above the hem of his pants, to those glorious muscles that formed the upper portion of his chest. Every bit of it chiseled and delicious. He must have spent a large amount of time working on his body, because it was flawless. His skin unmarred as far as she could see, covered in some of the most beautiful pieces of art she had ever seen. As she forced herself to look up at his face, she noticed he wore a smirk that made it obvious he was doing this all for her. He was willing to be her pet! He was just putting on a show for his friend! How wonderful!

She smiled right back at him, and beckoned him forward with open arms.

Unfortunately, this turned out to be, not only the wrong move, but the last one she would ever make for the rest of her life. As she held her arms open for the shorter one to come into them, which it was very apparent he wanted too, she felt a pain like no other course throughout her entire form. A surprised scream ripped itself out of her lips like a monster clawing its way out of the ground. It didn't last very long though, for a mere second after it started her head literally caved in under the force of the blow from the warrior behind her. The last thing she saw before turning into code was the smirking face of her precious gem...

Her betrayer...

Akio stood back after making his final attack, watching as Dal’Mori made his own causing the fall of the AI they were fighting. It was almost perfect how it happened. Akio dashed forward in all his electric glory, followed soon after by Dal’Mori who moved faster than Akio could even blink. It almost seemed like a choreographed ending to a stage battle. The AI opened her arms, welcoming her end. Akio’s smirk turned into a smile as the thing glared at him, its body turned into code. Akio stood there for a moment, shocked that his plan actually worked. He let out a huff of a laugh, “Holy s**t, it actually worked…” He breathed, looking up at Dal’Mori, almost proud of himself.

But then he turned very serious. He could already feel the effects of the pollen, and he didn’t want to stick around to figure out what it would do to him specifically. “We need to leave.” He voice was low, and his next movements were quick as a whip. Bending to grab his shirt, he then took off towards the edge of the field where they came in, only looking back for a moment to see if Dal’Mori was following him. He was so damn tired now, and simply running was taking a lot out of him. And by the time they reached the end, Akio had to take a moment to breath. This kind of exherstion. Sure, his previous battle was a long one, but he wasn’t taking most of the force of the attacks. Not tank the entire dang fight, then taking off

Akio leaned on his knees for a moment, catching his breath, processing just how awesome that battle was. The two really worked well as a team, and when something happened that was not according to plan it was so easy to accommodate. They barely needed to say anything to each other to put plans into action. It was simply amazing, really! Akio stood up, smiling at Dal’Mori. “That was actually pretty awesome. We need to work together like that again.” He said, completely amused by everything. And neither of them had gotten hurt the entire fight! They were just too badass for this situation.

Slowly, Akio put his shirt back on, shaking it out first to make sure it didn’t have any of the pollen on it. Once he was set, he looked over to Dal’Mori again, still juiced over their nearly perfect teamwork, and asked “Ready to go, then?” They probably have only been gone for a good twenty minutes, but the hankering for a cigarette was already punching him in the gut. That wasn’t good… It seemed almost like he needed to smoke more to get that same feeling he needed from the cigarette, as it had only been about an hour since his last one. Not only this, but he could feel a small headache coming on, pain starting to tickle its way across either of his temples. Damn. Everything was starting off so early.

He tried not to let it show, though, as he started his way to the portal. All he could hope for was that Dal’Mori would just… Not be that perceptive, though that was probably never gonna happen.

Dal'Mori Cestrol Menne

Like they had planned it from the very beginning, in perfect tandem, the men brought about the demise of the wretched creature that thought itself a divine gift to the eyes. Kawaguchi had played his part magnificently, despite the fact that it should have been Dal'Mori in his place, and had been the ultimate reason the Illusionist finally dropped its guard enough for them to be able to kill it. Taking a deep breath as his body absorbed the power from the cores they finished off, already his body feeling slightly stronger, faster and more durable.

His comrade let out a laugh, and even the normally stoic warrior couldn't help but crack a small, near imperceptible grin. It was true. They had done it. The fight had been long, grueling even, but in the end they came out on top. They had dominated the enemies, and the only issue was time. Neither one of them had been injured, and the only true ill effect they suffered was from the Illusionist's ability, which he was certain played with the mind of his partner, because the words spoken by his own mouth was more than enough to fuel his nightmares for some time to come.

Well, that little problem and the toxins from the flowers.

Speaking of that particularly annoying plant, he could feel the sensations from earlier getting worse. His head was feeling like it was filled with hot air, and the world was taking on a bit of a hazy outline. Before he could even speak, before a single word could leave his lips, his new brother in arms took them right out of his mouth when he brought up their urgent need to leave. With simply a nod in response he took off after the now running form of Kawaguchi. The muscles in his legs protested, his lungs burned slightly, all signs that he was beyond tired. Apparently fighting things that were naturally so much stronger than your basic human took a lot out of you.

Go figure.

He managed though. It was remarkably easy for the warrior. The man had spent years fighting, often times in the most desperate of situations, meaning he was well versed in keeping himself going with naught more than sheer will power. He found himself impressed with his companion once more, as he pushed his body past its obvious limitations to escape. He found himself surprised how many times he was impressed with a single person. Kawaguchi looked like he knew how to handle himself, and quite obviously took good care of his body, but Dal'Mori was more than capable of seeing his body was not built in battle. Maybe spars, but not true battle, a significantly crueler experience. Perhaps that was why he felt so impressed so often? He shook it off, now was not the time to be thinking about it.

When they finally reached an area they could take a break, breathe and relax, the veteran warrior did something entirely ungraceful. He plopped right down on the ground, right then and there, without so much as a second thought. He leaned back and looked up at the beautiful sky while calming his body, which seemed to rejoice in the break it was finally granted. Kawaguchi was taking their victory quite well, very happy with himself and their performance. To be fair, Dal'Mori couldn't fault him for it. They had been particularly well matched, working together almost seamlessly, like a sword a shield.

They took a few moments to relax, something that his body was certainly grateful for, and he was sure so was Kawaguchi's. Slowly, as if he was having difficulty, or simply didn't want to leave just yet, his partner got dressed again, before inviting him along to leave. With a sigh, he rose to his feet, dusting off the back of his coat and nodded towards his companion before setting off to follow him. While they were walking along Dal'Mori noted a minuscule flash of pain in Kawaguchi's eyes, which caused him pause.

That wasn't right. He hadn't been hit.

Maybe it had something to do with the Illusionist's ability? If so, he didn't want to dig in an open wound. On the flip side, it could be something else entirely, and he didn't want to ignore it like it was nothing. Deciding he would approach it delicately, in case it was the former, the warrior asked a very simple, "Are you okay?" It was a door in every sense of the word. It allowed Kawaguchi all the power, with no pressure to use it. He could respond with the truth, just as easily as he could brush the question off with a simple 'I'm fine.' It was entirely up to him.

Akio couldn’t lie. The mission was a complete and total success, no matter how one looked at it. The AI welcomed death in the end, and both Baiters who participated in the fight were left perfectly unscathed. Then, to top it all off, they were able to make it out of the field, able to avoid the admittedly scary effects of the flowers polin. Akio, for one, couldn’t believe that he was able to manage another mission without being hit even once. It didn’t stop the normal aches that came with the overexertion of the body, but he did feel a very similar euphoria to when he got back from the gym. A rush of endorphins from a good days work. It almost made him eager to go out again and do another mission. If only if it weren’t for that headache that was beginning to blossom at either side of his head.

It sucked, really. It always happened to him at the worst of times, and always got aggravated when he overworked himself. He hoped that it would go away after the first year after the injury, but clearly… That wasn’t going to be the case. It was likely that he was never to be rid of them, in fact. And soon, the pulsating pain that he felt would blossom completely into a wonderful migraine that would only be cured by a nap or three pills of painreleaver and a cup of coffee. Maybe two. So, the plan was to go back to the headquarters, visit his home, make a pot of coffee, and rest a couple minutes to see if the pain would go away. If it didn’t… Nap time. If it did, he was going to go out on another mission. Casually, he touched the side of his face, almost without thinking about the motion, tracing along one of the scars on his cheekbone.

That was about when his companion asked a pointed, but innocent sounding question. ‘Are you okay?’ To put it bluntly, no he wasn’t okay, but he wasn’t going to just open up to this guy on their first mission. Sure, the man was super cool, but at the same time they still had only just met.

It took Akio a while to answer, mulling over exactly what he wanted to say. A few things could have escaped his lips. For instance, he was actually craving that feeling of friendship once more, and did almost open up to the man about the headaches. It had been so long since he’s talked about anything substantial to anyone but a therapist, and having a conversation with someone who was no doubt just as hurt and lost as him was appealing. However, at the same time, he was almost scared to open up again. Was that how he felt? Scared? He wasn’t too sure. He just knew that he strongly did not want to talk to this man, or anyone really, about his issues just yet. Even if it was mention of a small headache.

“I’m fine,” Akio lied, shrugging his shoulders and continuing to move forward. Was it perhaps bad that he was intentionally pushing other away? Probably. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to stop doing it. It was that… weird fear he felt. It hadn’t been there for a while, and he wasn’t quite sure why it was there now of all times, but he knew exactly what it was. It was something he thought he had pushed down far enough that he wouldn’t feel it anymore. He figured he was able to make surface level friendships at least at this point in his life. Seems that he was wrong about that.

Akio let the moment fall quiet, not really wanting to touch the subject again. He knew that it was noticeable that he had lied, which left an air of discomfort in the air. At least on his end. But he just… Didn’t want to talk about it. At least he knew that the other man wasn’t going to press the issue. That much he knew from their previous interactions. As long as Akio was fit to do the missions, right? Anything else didn’t really matter. Akio almost let out an audible sigh, but stopped himself with a yawn instead. “I do think I need to rest a little after that though. I’m still not really used to the whole mission thing yet.” That much at least was true. He was physically exhausted, though mentally he was still fired up. He was still reeling from how well that mission went, and was excited for another one to go just as well. He wondered where he would go… Who he would go with.

At this rate, a nap was most definitely out of the question.

Dal'Mori Cestrol Menne

Taking the time after asking the question to study the face of the man at his side, he wondered idly what caused him to ask. What caused him to show concern. To this point, he had been attempting to keep people at a distance, with good reason. They were to be tools, the very weapons with which he would wipe out the menace that plagued the world, that none may know the pain he felt. He had every intention of making them better, bringing them to his skill level, and then setting them forth into the world, that they may act as a fire, the cores the wood.

Getting attached enough to care was not, and should not be a part of the plan.

Yet, here he was, staring into the face of one of the very individuals he had every intention of using to further his own goals, opening a door towards a potential friendship. Well, perhaps that might be a little strong of a word, but it would certainly not be the shallow relationship he had initially intended.

He quickly shook those thoughts from his mind. The practical advantage to having someone assume he was their friend was far better than there being a chance they figure out he was simply using them. So, while he the reason he chose to go this route remained a mystery, though he imagined it likely had to do with the fact that he was very used to putting on a caring face, he wouldn't he wouldn't back down from his own actions. He would utilize his capabilities as a man who goes with the flow, and work with it.

Besides, with how well they worked together, having Kawaguchi on his side as a 'friend' would be beneficial, no matter how you tried to twist it.

Returning to his observations, he kept a careful eye on the man both before and after he asked the question. While he was unsure of the reasons behind it, he intended to milk it for all it was worth. Even if the man said nothing, Dal'Mori could be more than capable of picking up some facts just by how he reacted.

To start, the man slid his fingers across the marks that marred his face. Even if he was completely dumb, he would be able to tell what that action meant, for he himself had done it numerous times. Scars are more than physical reminders of an injury, they were memories that were always there. Nothing you could ever do would allow you to escape them. They told stories, and not all of them good. These scars held no warm memories, the truth of it painted across Kawaguchi's face. Dal'Mori shifted slightly as a few of his own scars started to become known as he starts thinking about them, and wisely decided to not take a trip down memory road.

Then, as he asked the question, opened the door, stepped into the equivalent of 'No Man's Land' as far as Dal'Mori was concerned, he could literally read the shorter male's reaction off his face like the man had actually responded. First and foremost, the answer to his question was quite obviously no. He was not okay. Be it the Illusionist, memories or something else causing the pain, the man was trapped by something.

Something he wasn't even sure of.

There was a fight going on, and it was not an easy one, because both sides were clearly close to winning several times. In many instances it appeared as though Kawaguchi might reply, might open up. In those moments the warrior was surprised to find he felt some trepidation. He was not in any real position to help this man through any of his problems, and as such he wasn't sure how he would deal if the man had opened up about whatever it was that plagued his mind.

The warrior could see the lie coming from the mans lips well before he even said anything, and he felt something akin to relief. He nodded in response, and continued on towards the portal, his full focus no longer on the other's face, but he did keep an eye on him out of the corner of his eye. While the man had said he was fine, the warrior knew better, and would be ready in case something happened. He might not want anything in the form of a friendship, but he would be more than willing to ensure the other didn't die.

The fact that he wasn't paying as close attention as he had been when he asked the question was the main reason he found himself surprised when Kawaguchi started talking again. He turned his head towards the other, his eyes showing his surprise for the briefest of moments. The warrior could understand what he said though. Fighting like that, for as long as they did, under the circumstances they did was taxing for even him. He couldn't imagine what it had to be like for the other half of their duo.

"Nothing wrong with that. It makes sense. Combat like this is not easy." He said, though it was weirdly awkward, unlike earlier when they had been in the training room, and the man decorated in ink had managed to get him relaxed, even managed to get a laugh out of him. Not really that big of a surprise though, Dal'Mori wasn't much of a people person, and truth be told, there wasn't much he could offer to teach Kawaguchi. "It'll get less difficult with time. Experience is key."

It wasn't really advice, because truth be told it was probably very obvious. It was more along the lines of the warrior trying to explore this potential. If he could get the man to consider him a friend, it might make the man more willing to go along with his ideas, or more appropriately, his desires. Kawaguchi seemed to have way better ideas, if this fight was anything to go by.

If this... Whatever this is, worked out, he might actually try to give that Acel guy an honest chance, despite the incredible insult that he unknowingly preformed.
