Megan twirled dials and pushed switches in a frenzy, trying to get anything else she could out of the radio. She must have tried twenty different lines before she found something new.
"- supplies shipped in daily. We try to do it from the air but we don't have many choppers left. They will dwindle after a while. --- seven days --- then ----"
Then? Then what? Seven days… That was when they’d been led to believe it would all be over. They’ve all fought the infected, some of them injured or bitten or scratched. None of them had turned, everyone here must’ve been immune somehow. But this coupled with the thorn warning… they really were going to leave them all to die, weren’t they? Either abandoning them, or possibly smoking them with an air strike. This was bad. She wasn’t willing to spend even more time fiddling with the transmitters, she had a feeling she’d heard all there was to hear. Plus she already wanted to strangle the prerecorded message guy. It was going to be a long trek back… and through the infected, too.
