There could be people affected by radiation in a post-apocalyptic room. I'm not sure about the elemental part though, so instead what about 'powers' that enchances the brain/mind, maybe give esp? Since we did a party sort of thing last year, I think doing something different this year would be more original. Plus, I'm not sure how having a party would prove that the planet doesn't deserve to be destroyed. (Maybe it's by showing how much fun the planet has or something?) Demonic stuff could step on people toes, but it sounds pretty fun actually...heh. Zombies x Demons anyone? I got the idea that not everyone had powers, just the folks who were exposed to a lot of radiation? And there was the iron messing peoples powers up last year too. Thank you for the ideas! emotion_hug

Eren Jaegerbomb we could also go with that the Apocalypse has already happened and the survivors are trying to work out how to survive this "new" world E.g. Zombies - finding/building a safe area for people to take refuge Global warming - civilisation building around the fact that most of the world is now under water, what it means for transport/govenment etc Nuclear - are they gonna hide in the shelters for the rest of their life or are they gonna risk it to see if the radiation is gone. has the world changed since they went under ground? What if not all the rooms are after the apocalypse, and others are currently undergoing or about the begin the apocalypse? I really like the nuclear one. I've read too many apocalypse novels with civilization being underground and such, they were all epic. <3 I really like the "some before/during, some after" approach. That could also fit in with the TV show aspect, since each day the TV host could travel through each room, going from those on the brink of an apocalyptic situation, to those who are recovering/living. Basically going in chronological order each day, highlighting each room's progress and whatnot.

Nothing too extreme though, as we wouldn't want anyone to be able to god-mod/things to get out of control story-wise.

It could be internal conflict between people with abilities, causing a schism of sorts. Or the mutants could have conflict with those who didn't get powers.

Looking back on the 12th ball, I would not recommend having an over-all villain unless there's a solid plan to defeat him/her/them. Otherwise, you get an Angry Mob. Nobody likes a legit Angry Mob.
I'm honestly all for the TV show idea. Especially the whole having the mule come in and mess stuff up. My only suggestion there would be that each room decides when the mule will come in and what the mule will do. This way room plots aren't totally thrown out the window.

But really, no one enjoys angry mob status. Right now we're debating between the TV plot or one that we've been brainstorming involving wormholes opening up and scientists floating around to help the rooms.

Right now we're debating between the TV plot or one that we've been brainstorming involving wormholes opening up and scientists floating around to help the rooms. Two scientists who are studying Multi-Quantum Universes are using a machine that is able to view different ones? While studying one universe(Newsies's?) the younger eager apprentice accidentally messed something up causing that world to end(or whatever the room's current world ending situation)in some sort of way. This resulted in a domino effect where multi universes are being affected as well. Some further in their world ending than others. Scientist try to fix everything but sometimes make things worse( causing some room troubles). Rooms solve or make best of the situation on their own. Apprentice learns a valuable lesson?

Okay, I'm just brainstorming here, but how about this:
There's a company in Gaia messing around with/developing teleportation. They have a prototype machine built. All the science/math/etc. checks out. They've announced their advances to the general public/news outlets, and everyone is excited.
Fast forward to launch day. The machine is being prepared, and all the science guys are like "woah this is gonna be so rad. we love science." The main science guy (probably Bill Nye) gets on stage and is all "hey guys, the public, news guys, are you ready to rock?" He throws up the devil horns and pushes the giant red button, b/c all science devices have a giant red button.
A strong wind picks up. "Oh no," everyone says. "Don't worry," says Bill Nye, "it's supposed to do that! it's like the particles or something!" So the machine starts to power up. It looks super cool, and everyone is like "woah, this looks super cool." But all of a sudden, stuff gets real. Weird lightning shoots around. Matter seems to shift in weird, trippy ways. "This is not what is supposed to happen," Bill Nye says.
Suddenly, there's a flash of light. Everyone feels as if they're falling through pure whiteness. Then, they realize they are no longer in Gaia, nor are they surrounded by the rest of those who had attended the event.
The teleportation device caused a split in the already weak seam of reality that Gaia sits on, sending everyone around (i.e. the guests) into different alternate universes. This rift, consequently, caused these various universes to be pushed towards the brink of extinction. Now the Gaians have to work with the people from these universes to not only get home, but to save their universes in the process.
(Note: This is not a fully fleshed-out theory/plot/thing. I'll develop more of it if you guys think it sounds good.)
