Venturing further into the volcanic area of the island, Argyle briefly considered using his travelling cape and placing it over his head to keep it out of the sun; however soon after this thought passed through his mind he realized the problem wasn't the sunlight but his surroundings. Hence even a little shade actually wasn't gonna do him much good here. He'd kill for an ice cave or something. Hell he'd willingly leap face first into a bog right about now. Nah, he couldn't get that lucky right now could he. Probably wasn't even such a location out here. Way things were turning out he wouldn't surprised if he ended up in a desert later. Or a magma sea, wouldn't that be fun?
"I hate volcanoes" Argyle muttered out loud as the continued out. Jekyll was strangely silent.
Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M] Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 3 [Temperament] Naughty Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.
Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard. The journey was fairly straightforward! Jin-Hua surprising did not get seasick! She loved swimming and the ocean. The salt water smell was a very refreshing scent and it was fun seeing the various pokemon on the journey to the island. Plus her guide was a silly thing but really was perfect. As she came to the landing dock, she couldn't resist hugging the Floatzel goodbye. Such a shame. But maybe she could have her own in the future! Goals! With that, she turned to take the first step on the island and see what journey and adventures awaited her!
Longwei felt sick after the swaying of the boat, all the water and luckily the ride was over. Unfortunately for him, as soon as he thought the worst was over, it wasn't. Stepping foot onto land, he felt the ground swaying beneath his feet and then looked slightly green in the face. Ugh. After a few seconds, he got his land paws and was able to walk normally. Never again... never mind, thinking about the boat ride back... For now, they had a mission to complete!
Stepping onto land Jin-hua and Longwei would fel the gentle kiss of moisture upon their cheeks. It wasn't salty like the sea spray, but light and airy. Fresh water. Ahead the girl would find thick trees growing close together, mist creeping along their roots as a shroud of fog obscured what lay further in. She'd need to be careful not to get lost in this place.

>Umm.. excuse me...<
It seemed the Argyle and Jekyll had gained a new follower. A Numel, eyes bright and focused, stared at the pair. >Er... I mean...< she shuffled nervously, looking up at Jekyll. >Are you the two who have been going around fighting everyone?< News spread fast when all one could do is fight and die of heatstroke. >Because... because if you are, I'm not going to let you continue. I'm going to fight you!< she shouted, with more confidence that she clearly felt.
At the sound of another voice, even if he couldn't understand it, Argyle would turn. It was a Numel, and one shuffling about nervously even as she kicked up a racket. Not a fighter than. It was small and cute, a child most likely...or at least young. Turning fully the boy would crouch down "Shuu shuu, go away. This isn't a safe place to be" He said in a soft choice, briskly making the shuuing gesture.
Jekyll, who could understand every word their would be opponent said, was even less pleased with the situation. This thing was....frankly adorable....so much it actually made him a bit queasy to be honest. More importantly even he'd feel bad beating up this kid. He'd rather kick a Cleffa. Still she seemed determined. This called for plan B. Sliding down from Argyle's shoulder, the Croagunk would pull off a perfect imitation of the young butler's usual bow. ">My apologies young lady but we are not whom you seek. We are agents of justice, out to bring peace! In fact we are following after that horrible pair of hooligans you seek right now! Unfortunately we seem to be caught in their wake, always a few steps behind!<" Jeykll said in a dramatic, but gentle voice, perfectly imitating the way Argyle tended to talk to people he wasn't being honest with ">Leave it to us though! I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we bring them to justice!<"

The Numel glanced up curiously at Argyle. What on earth was he... But she was suddenly distracted by Jekyll's performance. For all her attempts at bravery, she was still quite young, and very Naive. She watched with rapt attention, face alight with amazement. >Wow!< she squeaked, starry-eyed. >You're heroes! I won't hold you up any long, so go beat those, uh, ho-hooligans!< She scooted off the path, waving one of her paws eagerly. >Good luck, Mister Hero!< They were free to go.
Soo the first step of their journey was in this forest. Interesting. The fog made it somewhat mysterious. It was a semi-dark place as the sun was blocked out by the trees. Not only was the fog making it hard to see, it would make it hard to fight any pokemon should they come across any... Either way, there was no turning back. That being said, she started walking forward to see what awaited them from within.
The Houndour's fur bristled as he glanced at the forest. Something seemed off. Senses tingling and on high alert, he marched partially in front of Jin-Hua, ready to leap forward at a moment's notice. He would need to make sure he was fast enough and strong enough to protect her. Ears pricked forward and trying to strain his senses to the fullest, he padded onward.
The forest was quiet. Dead quiet. The silence in the air only made the place more eerie. But so far, nothing had happened. Though there was an ominous edge, the pair continued onward.
The only sounds in the forest was the crunching of the grass, leaves and sticks beneath their feet and paws. It was strangely loud in the silence. There were no pokemon singing or chattering and this made for a very dangerous situation. Longwei knew he had to stay alert.
Argyle seemed confused watching Jekyll's display, but seeing the Numel move off to one side the boy was forced to assume that it had worked at least. Though he could only imagine what sort of nonsense the Croagunk had told the Fire-type....after all, if she wasn't angry at them, it had to be nonsense knowing Jekyll. Picking up the Coragunk, the youth would reutnr to his trudging down the trail.
Resuming his perch as they moved forward, Jekyll would cast one last glance at the Numel over over his shoulder. She was a sweet kid....and about as smaaaaart as a sack of hammers.

Rock. Rock. Slightly smaller rock. The further Argyle got into this place the more rocks he saw; though he supposed that was better than fire, lava, or teeth.

A snoring Phanpy lay on a rock, clearly in the realm of dreamland. It was up to Argyle to see how this encounter would go.

Jin-Hua would soon learn to fear silence; because when one entered a place filled with so much life, yet heard not a sound, there could be only one cause. Something big was here. Either everything had fled, or they not dare make a peep and draw the attention of one creature.
Soon Jin-Hua would find a break to the silence in the form of wet grass swishing...this was not a good sign. The sound was slow, deliberate, whatever this was it wasn't fleeing, which meant it wasn't afraid....
A silhouette would appear in the fog, a creature standing tall on stilt like legs, proud antlers crowning it's head. It looked at them through the fog....sizing them up....and then began it's approach, just as it's grown began to glow a multitude of colours...
An illusion of the fog as they'd soon find, the fine mist of the fog refracting the pure light of two large orbs between the Pokemon's antlers. What stood before Jin-Hua and Longwei was a Stantler, his fur ruff but sleek, a ragged white scar running right between his eyes to mid snout. By his shear size and baring, it was clear this was no ordinary Stantler however, but the King of the Forest. ">Human<" The Pokemon began in a voice which seemed to resound through the very trees, heedless of whether or not the child could understand him ">Leave now if you value your life. I will not allow you to harm the children of this forest.<" A moment later the Stantler would widen his stance, lowering his antler's and angling them in a threatening gesture. The message was clear even without words. If they wished to proceed, they'd have to go straight through him.
It was pretty much impossible for Argyle not to notice the Phanpy. Who could ignore that racket? Part of him wanted to try stuffing one of his socks up the Pokemon's nose to see if that would silence it. This was however, likely unwise, plus he still needed that sock for the moment.
Further pondering on the Phanpy however opened up options. It was asleep, he could likely attack it without allowing it the opportunity to defend itself. An easy win; but Phanpy also had exceptional hearing, and unlike with the Fire-types he'd encountered Jekyll wouldn't be nearly as effective. He could try to capture it. Again it was asleep so doing so should be easy! Again that hearing though, and if it failed he'd have lost a ball. The third option was obvious. Sneak off without disturbing it. Progress forward without a fight. Decisions decisions....
Well when in doubt ask the coin. Digging into the cuff of his skirt Argyle would retrieve a small novelty coin. Worthless monetarily speaking, but it was evenly balanced and perfect for flipping. Heads I do something, and tails nothing The boy thought to himself as he flipped the coin into the air....
It would land on the back of his hand with a picture of a splashing Magikarp facing skyward. Tails. He'd do nothing.
Putting a hand over Jekyll's mouth the boy would make a Shh-ing gesture with his other hand. They'd need to remain quiet. Taking his steps carefully Argyle would move forward, hopefully far away from this Volcano and it's inhabitants.

Like a punishment for all his mental complaining about the heat, Argyle and Jekyll would find themselves at the mouth of a cave. This was where the path lead, and if he wanted to keep going to complete his mission, he'd have enter.
Sweltering Cave
Further in and further down. Only an idiot would think going into a deep, dark cave that seems to crackle with heat and energy was a good idea. Unfortunately, you don’t seem to have much of a choice anymore. The only light comes from the strange glowing rocks that spark when you get too close to them. And the temperature feels like it’s rising. Be care, stick to the sides, and keep your head up.

Kiani followed the professor's directions and found the docks. Now, she and Balrog found themselves on a boat and soon arriving on the island. Taking a deep breath to steady herself, Kiani stepped onto the soil and looked around. Balrog jumped off the boat and face-planted next to her, unsteady after the boat ride. Balrog growled as he stood upright and shook himself off, glancing at Kiani for instructions.
