Something was bothering Lorne. It was bothering him a lot.

There was no reason that he should have looked back towards the overly affectionate couple and their very public displays of togetherness. It wasn't that that bothered him. It was something about one of the men, something - about his voice, about the way he carried himself - he kept stealing glances from his book, increasingly distracted.

He heard a small noise of surprise, and this time when he looked up, he stared, openly, brow furrowed and lips pursed and who was that, where had he --

From Paris
Train passed platform. Negaverse here. Powering up. Are you ok?

Rhiannon shook her head, not sure what she thought she noticed or if she was being paranoid, but then she got a text from Paris, and her suspicions were proven true. Possibly. If there were Negaverse officers attacking the platform, then who knew who else was in the train car with them.

She could feel her face blanche as she realized how much danger they might be in. Were they there to drain energy? Were they taking starseeds? Were they going to leave everyone there dead? As much as she wanted to keep her aunt safe, it was difficult not to feel anger and fear for those on the platform. Was anyone there a Negaverse officer? Where there any senshi? She had to alert them somehow.

Slowly, Rhiannon felt herself standing from her seat, holding onto the back of the seat in front of her for support. She looked around the train as she slipped her phone back into her purse so she wouldn’t accidentally lose it. Who was it? Were the Negaverse the ones sleeping? Or were people asleep because the Negaverse did something to them?

“The terrorists are attacking the platform,” she said, trying to will her voice above a whisper. Surely no one would have heard her. But they needed to know. Even if she and her aunt ended up being attacked for what she said, at least it would give herself and the other civilians (and potential senshi and knights) a fighting chance. At least they would be aware something was amiss.

The terrorists are attacking the platform!

Captain Ashanite: 104 stealth

"I'd be very happy to distract you later," Ashanite teased. "Too bad, that would have been just enough seats," Ashanite said, "but maybe a bit further down."

He could feel eyes on him, and he prayed it was just someone curiously observing an obvious couple - but too damn many people had seen him corrupt, and he was far too recognizable. If it was someone Order-side, powered down...s**t. Probably paranoia, but he felt he had every reason to be paranoid.

He was scoping out his next target when the girl stood up and declared that something was going on on the platform.

"s**t," he swore, under his breath. Someone there must have screwed up, revealed themselves - or perhaps there was just some ballsy Order fool who'd gotten too nosy, but whatever it was, they were all in very, very deep trouble. For a moment, he considered attempting to get closer and silencing the one making the announcement - but no, that would draw far too much attention, and he knew there were already eyes on them.

"Have you ever engaged Order before, Lieutenant?"

Ian had been rather unbothered by things going on with the train ride, though he had noticed them passing a platform he hadn't realized it was one they were supposed to stop at. He had however noticed the train seemed to be moving a bit faster than it should have been. He'd ignored it though, instead pulling out his phone to check the time and check and see if he had any messages as he'd thought he'd felt it vibrating in his pocket.

Just as he was pocketing his phone he saw someone ahead of him standing up and declaring that terrorists were attacking the platform...the one they just passed? He thought and that thought was quickly followed by what sort of terrorist? negaverse or senshi and knights. Surely she didn't mean the last two, they didn't do such, but if any were seen who knows what people could or would say. The odds however were on the negaverse attacking the platform. "s**t..." he cursed under his breath.

Sliding down and trying to cover himself with his seat and the one in front of him, meaning he was squishing himself into the tiny leg area between the two seats, he slipped his hand into the pocket of his hoodie to hold onto his henshin pen for comfort. he couldn't safely power up here and he knew it. he didn't like this one bit and he did wonder if he should send a text to Lily or Xander. Could they even get here though? Toying with one of his snake bites he shook his head and slid his hand out of his pocket, his pen remaining in his pocket, and remained squished where he was - worried over what may or may not have been happening on this car.

Miasmite heard the girl's voice, and while he felt his heart jump in his chest, he tried his hardest not to react overtly. Instead, he walked over to the girl at a measured pace. "Excuse me, young lady," he said in his smooth baritone. "What is happening on the platform? You say... terrorists are there?" He shook his head. "I wouldn't worry about the platform. I'm sure whatever's there will be handled quickly enough. Destiny City has a police force, after all."

Rhiannon waited for a reaction, terrified of what she’d just done. This is why she normally kept to herself as often as possible.

But no one reacted.

Terrorists of an unnamed source were attacking, and no one was reacting?? Her face remained pale from the gravity of the situation. How many people here really were involved?

A voice spoke up finally, telling her not to worry. That he wouldn’t worry about the platform. Rhiannon grabbed onto her aunt’s arm to try and pull her back, closer to her, as she reached into her purse once more to grab the pepper spray she kept just in case.

“We passed the platform! Surely that’s something to worry about,” she forced herself to have a voice, her eyes wide and wondering what this man was doing, so brazenly saying not to worry. “A true citizen of this city would be asking how can we help, not the police can take care of it! Either we passed the platform for our own protection, or the train is being sabotaged.”

She was shaking. Not with fear but with anger and the inability to do anything about it. Her gut was telling her that this man was somehow involved, and not on the side of the senshi and knights. “Tell me,” she said, making sure her voice was loud enough for others to hear. “What is your involvement? Or are you not concerned?”

Marissa was still waiting for Rhiannon to explain why she sounded so concerned when her niece stood up and made her announcement. It was easy enough to determine what she meant by terrorists, but how did she know?

So distracted was she, Marissa didn't notice they'd passed the platform until Rhiannon announced that too.

It was the most Marissa had heard her niece talk all day, and it was obvious that Rhiannon was feeling a great deal of anxiety over it. Though Marissa had no proof that what Rhiannon was saying was true, she chose to believe her. After all, Rhiannon wasn't the type to make these sorts of things up.

Moving closer to her niece, Marissa dropped her voice and said, “How do you know?”

For the man approaching Rhiannon, Marissa reserved a glare. She stepped in front of her niece before the man could reach her, as protective as she would have been if it was one of her own children.

“Back off,” she warned him. “There's no need to be confrontational, unless you want the entire train to be suspicious about why you're even here.”

Lorne's reaction was lacking simply because he was too dumbstruck to react. Terrorists at the platform. And people were just - some were reacting. Others weren't at all.

He glanced again at the man that was so achingly familiar, somehow, and he knew he knew him, he -knew- he did, if he could just get a little closer, get a better look at his face -

His hands were shaking, and he closed his book, tucking it under his arm. "Young lady, this information - how do you know this? Did someone tell you?" he called, and although his voice was soft it carried. Red flushed his pale cheeks as people began to stare at him too. "If there truly is something going on, then we should be concerned - why was no announcement made if there -is- nothing wrong?"

In the middle of a paragraph describing - quite tastefully, Fritz thought - the heaving bosom of the illustrious and well dressed heroine Anna - he could hear the sound of someone's voice, rising above the crowds of people until it reached his ears - terrorists are attacking the platform.

He blinked, and then his eyes narrowed, Fritz keeping his book raised, completely casually, his gaze sweeping across the faces of those in the car. There was no one he recognized, but that didn't mean that there weren't people on board that were like him.

Fritz slowly closed the book and then reached around and tucked it neatly into his back pocket, easing himself a little closer to the woman who'd spoken. There was a dark haired young man standing there already, and Fritz leaned around him, a pleasant smile on his face, his hand holding onto one of the poles.

"Yes, please do let us know what it is that you're concerned about," he said lightly, not patronizingly, but curious. "Is there something going on that we should know is happening so that we can all see what we can do to help?"

Rhiannon tensed as two others stood up to ask her what she knew. How would she know if they were Negaverse officers or not?? What if all three of them attacked her and her aunt and the other civilians on the train and stole their starseeds and left them for dead??

She opened her mouth to respond that she knew because she was told, but nothing came out. Damnit, she was just able to announce what she knew and call out the other man, but now that she was being put on the spot she was suddenly unable to even respond.

A hand lifted to her throat as she tried to will herself once more, but the anxiety was too overpowering. Instead if trying to force herself she pulled out her phone once more to unlock and force it into Marissa's line of sight so she could see the message from Paris herself.

Once she was sure her aunt saw the message, she quickly deleted it so no one else would be able to see that Paris was involved.

And then she dug out her pepper spray from her purse so she could shake it and prepare to defend her aunt and herself. If only she could power up...

Marissa turned to Rhiannon to offer support, only to have Rhiannan's phone thrust in her face. It was there for only a few seconds before Rhiannon was removing it and deleting the message, but that was all Marissa needed in order to read the text and see who it had come from.

It meant a few different things. First, it meant that Paris and Rhiannon talked more than Marissa had realized. Second, it meant that Rhiannon knew what Paris was. When had Paris told her? If Rhiannon had known all this time, why hadn't she said anything?

“My daughter is waiting for us on the platform,” Marissa explained to those who were questioning how Rhiannon had come by this information. “She sent a message.”

Lorne glanced back as the other man, voice twinged with a English accent, came to join them. The other woman answered for the first, and his brows furrowed - he leaned in closer, and began to whisper (because a whisper came easier to him than anything else, and also because who knew), "This could be - no, no this is absolutely bad. Something's very off about - W- We should - "

It was about then he realized he heard some sort of shaking sound. Blinking quizzically, he turned his attention back to the girl who'd initially spoken, and caught sight of a can in her hand, aimed at them. What was it? - and then he realized and his eyes widened. A rather undignified yelp escaped him and he barreled backwards, directly into the poor man behind him.

Fritz caught the look of tension on both of the women's faces and held up both hands in a gesture of innocence. "I promise I'm just trying to figure out what's happening," he said quickly, an easy smile touching his lips. "No harm intended towards either of y - "

The rest of his sentence was lost as the young man standing near him staggered backwards into him, yelping, Fritz's hands automatically flying out to catch ahold of him. He gave him a reassuring pat on the arm, smiling cheerily at him, and then saw the little can in the young woman's hand.

"Look, really - " he said quickly. "I doubt either of us want anything more than just information, pure and simple, I'd rather not get into anything, you know..."

Fritz smiled winningly.

"Seriously. I'm against these terrorists, I promise you, I'm just trying to figure out what's happening."

Quote:
Looking out the train windows offers nothing but darkness until the next blaring tunnel light peers in on its occupants. A light scratching sounds from the outside of the train, somewhere on the brushed aluminum surfaces, but nothing more is heard. When the next beam of light pierces the curtain of black, a silhouette not unlike a gnarled hand is projected from the window. The next blaring light silhouettes a body so great that it obstructs most of the window. The third light cuts through cleanly, with the whole of the window now unobstructed.

This was not the only bizarre instance to occur - they grew more frequent, but no more brazen than to restrict themselves to the outside of the train.

Somewhere beyond the window, something chitters.

How your characters react to this is up to you! Hang on tight; Order will get to the computers on the platform soon and these trains will get a bit crazy!

Devlin had stayed the ******** out of things when he heard a chick yell about terrorists on the platform. Might explain why they didn't stop, he figured. He cussed and tried to text his cousin again, pulse racing at the idea that she could get caught up in that s**t. Bad enough he was, but her? Nah, no way. Not happening.

Torvil
[To Mercy!]
Do NOT go on the platform if the train stops! At ALL. Terrorist attack. Stay on the train I'll try to get to you. Stay safe Princess.

The idea of Mercy getting caught up in an attack made his blood run cold and stomach roll. Shuttering as he put his phone away--into his pocket where he could feel the vibrations if she texted him back--he looked out the window across from him.

And cussed. Repeatedly. Loudly.

He'd seen the gnarled hand against the window, could hear the strange sounds over the normal train sounds--barely, but there. Oh ******** hell. They were on the train? His hand went back into his pocket, glad--for once--he was... actually able to transform.

Not that he really knew what he could even do as a senshi but hell least he had his damn pen and could try to get the creature's attention.

Settled on that, Devlin ducked towards the back of the train, into the seats where there were some privacy screens already set up. Whomever was sitting in the seats was gone, something he wasn't about to question as he pulled out his pen. Not really caring if someone saw him duck behind there--but not sure how anyone could pin-point a random dude on the train with so many people standing around--he hissed the required words and...

Sailor Loke slipped back out into the aisle, body tensing as he registered all the Chaos signatures he was feeling blasted with. Ah hell. ******** hell. He was going to kill someone if they hurt Mercy.
