Ken rises up on his knees, taking just a moment to catch his breath. Andre seems determined not to be put away, but Ken is equally determined to put him away. How best to do it is the question. if he won't be pinned, maybe he'll submit. With this in mind, he moves to wrap his legs around Andre's head in a leg scissors submission hold

dazed and down from a clothesline, Andre finds himself locked in a submission hold, one making it hard to breathe as the full strength of Ken's legs is wrapped around his head. For now he is stuck, simply trying to survive the hold en route to finding a way out of it

Ken is content to keep the hold locked in, but for good measure, as the referee is asking Andre if he wants to submit, he throws a strike at his head before attempting to tighten the hold. He'll get what he wants one way or another

Andre can't exactly block the strike, but it does give him a bit of a wakeup call. If he wants to get out, he has to turn Ken, so he attempts to turn towards the right, aiming to flip ken over enough to slid out of the hold. once free, he'd take Ken's legs and attempt to lock him in the Dre Lock. Two can play the submission game

to Ken's dismay, Andre manages to turn him over and escape. before he can try to recover, he's locked in Andre's version of a cloverleaf, his submission finishing hold as a matter of fact, and yells in pain as Andre is sitting on his back with his legs pretzeled painfully. the crowd is cheering as they hope to see the Inter-Blaze champion submit but he refuses

Andre is content to sit on the hold, attempting to truly sit down on Ken's back to contort him further. he's better at this submission game than Ken. he was trained by his uncles and father, and submission wrestling was a large part of his training. a submission win would be even better

Ken is in more pain than he would normally admit, but the cries of pain are undeniable. he attempts to claw his way towards the ropes, slowly and it's adding to the pain, but the ropes are his only escape

Ken is clawing his way to the ropes, but Andre isn't done with him. He raises up just enough to attempt to drag him back to the center and sit back in on the hold again

Ken is pulled back to the center of the ring and screams in frustration as Andre sits back down into his submission hold. He pulls at his own hair in frustration, seemingly trapped in this hold and back dead center of the ring

Andre is perfectly content where he is. He has his hold locked in and the champ seems to be unable to move from the center of the ring. Sitting in on the hold, Ken has two options, tap or pass out

Ken has to escape. He pushes himself up on his arms, forced to support his own weight and Andre's, and attempts to walk himself to the ropes again. If he can reach them, he'll hold on for dear life until Andre releases the hold

it takes a while, but Ken finally reaches the ropes again, and Andre can't pull him away. He releases the hold at the referee's urging

finally free, Ken rolls to the outside and falls to the floor. His legs and back took all of that punishment and now he needs the time to attempt to recover and figure out a way to win this match

Andre isn't about to let Ken rest outside. He wants a pinfall or submission win here. He goes outside as well and looks to pull the champion up and roll him back into the ring. once Ken is inside, Andre would go to the top rope and look to put him away with his top rope splash finisher, right into a pin

Ken finds himself rolled back into the ring and the pain keeps coming as Andre comes off the top with a splash and a pin.
one...two...three!!!
much to Ken's dismay, the ref's mat hits the hand a third time before he can kick out.
