As she was wiping down the counter, Sammy couldn't help but notice the repeated chiming near the front entrance. She tuned it out at first but when it became clear it wasn't stopping she finally looked up and decided to check it out. "What's out there? Could it be just the wind...?" She opened the door and nearly made the little creature flop over from leaning its weight on it. She poked her head out and looked left as far as she could see, then right. Nothing in either direction. "Hm...well that's odd." she thought aloud, scratching her head. "I could've sworn there'd be a..." Something moved in her peripheral vision. Sammy blinked and looked toward the floor. "Oh, it must've been you making that sound." she realized with a friendly smile. "Hello there."OOC: ~

At last! The heavy barrier was moved, victory! ...but why was it still falling? The green thing fell to the floor with a tiny squeak, stubby arms flailing about to try and re-right itself. It still hadn't noticed the human speaking to it...but it did notice the smell of sweet, sweet nourishment had grown stronger! Finally managing to lift itself up a tad, it glanced around the cafe to find the source of the smell. That's when it noticed Sammy, watching it and giving a greeting. The thing gave a squeak of terror at the girl, dropped back to its face, and began to roll underneath a table nearby.

Sammy's eyes widened as it reacted fearfully to her introduction. It shrieked and diverted its eyes, rolling under the nearest table. She bent over to steal a peek. "I-It's okay! I'm sorry if I scared you!" She stood upright and slapped a hand over her mouth, realizing shouting might not have been her best approach. Instead she left and came back with a saucer of cake. She didn't say another peep, just quietly slipped it under the table.OOC: ~

Peering out from one of the table legs, the creature watched as the giant pink human left the area for a bit, and then returned with...food! There was no denying it this time, that was definitely food placed before it. It reached tentatively toward the saucer, pulling a tiny bit of the confection off and placing it in its mouth... It's eyes widened in shock as the most intense energy rush suddenly began coursing through its body. Internal systems were going haywire trying to process the massive amount of sugar that was packed into the morsel. It had to get rid of the excess energy or else something might happen to it! Like an explosion...oh no...here it comes! ...the little green thing just started to vibrate from underneath the table, moving slowly across the floor and bouncing slightly against chair legs and table bases like a pin ball going in slow motion.

The waitress observed from afar and watched as the tiny little creature went from zero to sugar rush in 2.4 seconds. "Gee, the cafe lives up to its name." she commented, watching it whirl across the floor and bounce off various obstacles. "Looks like a new record." The girl moved closer in case she needed to step in and stop it from hitting anything too hard.OOC: ~

After a bit of time, the thing finally seemed like it was beginning to slow down internally, the vibrations only coming in short bursts until it came to a halt underneath a booth near the front. Once the world around it appeared to stop shaking, it flopped backwards on its back and promptly fell asleep, sugar rush turning swiftly into a sugar coma.

"Awwww~" Sammy couldn't help but coo as it wore itself out and fell asleep. Walking quietly in her heels she tiptoed over, picked it up, and placed it on top of the table where no one would step on it. She then took a cloth napkin and placed it over the little critter like a blanket.OOC: ~

When it woke, it blinked its eyes around in confusion. How did it get so high? Oh no, did it explode and land here? Looking down at its stubby hands, it breathed a sigh of relief to see that it had not burst like it had feared. Crawling to the edge of the table, with the napkin still curled around it like a cape, it peered over the edge to see just how far up it was. Not too bad... Standing up, the 'cape' unfurling around it, it took a deep breath and hopped face first from the table. With a squeak and a bounce it hit the floor and rolled once more to a sitting position, shaking its head to stop the slight spinning. It's stomach growled again, the tiny piece that it ate previously already gone and out of its system. No, this time it needed something that would sustain it...like what was on the inedible outside, all big red and shiny...Ah hah! On the counter, under a barrier! On top of the energy provider! The thing ran over to the counter and tried to climb on top of one of the chairs to get to the fruit on top of a tart.

After tidying the place up a bit, Sammy noticed the lil' creature was up and at 'em again. She followed it with her eyes a moment and found it marching dutifully toward the counter. She leaned over the side and watched as it tried to climb up. "Good morning," she greeted since it just woke up...even though it wasn't morning anymore. She was sure to keep her voice soft to avoid startling it. "Looking for something...?"OOC: ~

The tiny bell to the cafe chimed once more as someone strolled in, bringing with them a chilly gust of December air. Shrugging off a coat and placing it on the rack, the newcomer looked around the room for any signs of there being anyone, eyes widening as she spotted the shock of pink hair that belonged to Sammy. "Yo~! You work here right? I'm new...so uh...can you show me the ropes?" she asked, her voice having a slight rasp to it.

Sammy was a tad preoccupied. It had been a while since she saw her little green friend. She turned her back on it one second and the next - gone! She'd set up a little trap for it like in one of those old Looney Toons shows where the Coyote stacks a bunch of birdseed waiting to lure the Roadrunner on his zippy journey through the desert. Her bait was sweets, though. Who could resist? The waitress hid behind the counter with just her eyes peeking over the top, waiting for it to come out of hiding. Little did she realize one of her good friends had arrived and was trying to get her attention."Any minute now..." she muttered, drumming her fingers quietly on the edge of the counter. "Any minute n - !!" Her eyes jolted to the blurry figure standing beside the register. Suddenly she popped up to a standing position. "Gah! I'm sorry! This...isn't what it looks like... Though I'm not sure what it must look like... You see I was trying to catch a small green thing that came in here earlier and..." She sighed and laughed in spite of herself. "One peppermint mocha coming up!"She left for a moment and returned with a festive new holiday mug. "Minty lives up to her name!" She giggled as she placed it in front of her. "Hope your holidays have been good this month." she added with a smile. Suddenly the little bell above the door rang. She was immediately on the case, eyes glinting with hope. Maybe it was that animal again! Eh, not quite. And the person probably didn't want to be stared at like that, either. Sammy immediately corrected her face...by...throwing her hands up over it."Yo~! You work here right? I'm new...so uh...can you show me the ropes?" Sammy slowly lowered her hands and looked the girl up and down. That was odd. Her boss didn't say anything to her about new hirings. She must have missed the memo somewhere. She quickly came out from behind the counter and bowed in the girl's direction. "Oh, hello! I'm Sammy. Yeah sure come on in."OOC: I'm so sorry for not replying sooner Minty! D:

As soon as Sammy's attention was diverted from her trap, the little green creature struck. Gobbling up the treats and speeding off to a new hiding place to wait off the next sugar high, it's tiny body buzzing with increasing frequency with each sweet devoured. The newcomer watched the movement with interest, before focusing back on Sammy with a toothy grin at her expression. This was going to be fun if the girl was this excitable. Bowing back awkwardly to her, assuming this was a cafe custom, she held out a hand to shake the waitress', introducing herself. "Heya, I'm Ciera. Nice to meet you as well!"

Sammy's eyes flew in the direction of the movement, but was only in time to see the plate spinning on its side from the creature's speedy getaway. The disappointment set in. Her shoulders slumped and lips frowned. "Awww...I wanted to catch it..." Focus, Sammy. She quickly turned back to her new coworker. "Eheheh, sorry about that." She cleared her throat and motioned to the back room. "I guess I'll begin the tour then!"OOC: ~

"Ah, you're fine...got a pest problem in here?" she whispered, trying not to startle the current patron. At the mention of the tour she perked back up, and pointed dramatically to the back. "Yes! Onward Captain!" she giggled, following Sammy.
