Robin
Balerd

Balerd awoke just about as one would expect of a child. There was a period of total immobility as consciousness returned, followed by Balerd's entire body seeming to wiggle outwards and stretch all at once. The wiggles and scrambles began after a brief pause and the blanket was removed, only for another period of blankness to resume. Children just weren't that smart and waking up in an unfamiliar area always elicited a moment of confusion as things sorted themselves out. Things were different and that was strange but it wasn't bad, it just was. Of course, the moment the gears snapped into place it was a different story by far. It had been a nice, long nap by Balerd's standards and, when combined with the blissful obliviousness of exhaustion that was so common to children, it was simple to say that the Hawlucha was fully charged.

This would spell just a bit of bad news for Nyx, as Balerd would obviously go for the most interesting source of stimulation around. A straight path, or as straight as it got, would be carved out as Balerd quickly hopped up and ran towards the kitchen only to stop very suddenly and chirp-speak a loud "Hello! Food!" at Nyx. Much more fortunately for Nyx was that Balerd apparently knew not to interfere in the Food! area. Instead of storming in and acting aggressively towards either Nyx, with attention, or the food, with hunger, Balerd instead stood in place and quickly pumped up and down with an exuberance that was exhausting to watch.

Likely, at some point in the past, Balerd had had somewhat less restraint and it had ended somewhat less conveniently.

((Pardon, got the idea in my head that he had. Fixed the post to match that. Also an hour is fine--the time itself is fairly fluid, it's more about the structure of the day ie: playing, eating, playing, bed, whatever. Keep in mind that Robin's mission "started" after nightfall in a warmer season; the travel distance gives some flex room on this, but by the time Balerd arrived it already would've been "getting on in the day".))

Neo & Nyx & Air & Eliot & Clara & Lux & Killian

Not much had changed over the course of Balerd's nap, except for the disappearance of Air and the newly established presence of Nyx. Neo was sitting quietly on the couch, perusing their encyclopedia when he caught sight of Balerd's wriggling and closed the book gently, sending it back to the shelf with a careful Psychic as he watched the waking-up process. He was back on the clock now.

Balerd's beeline for the kitchen forced the Meowstic to his paws as he hurried after the boy, recalling Nyx's words about being kept distant from the children. Fortunately--somehow--Balerd didn't charge into the kitchen, which would have had only the worst of consequences; instead he bounced on his heels and stared inside, which made Neo's job much easier. "Alright Balerd, take it easy." With a quick swooping motion Neo had collected the boy in his arms, though this was no longer a particularly easy task. "We're going to eat soon, but before that we have to get everyone ready for dinner, alright?" Setting the Hawlucha down so that he was positioned between the bird and the kitchen, Neo smiled. "We only eat once every member of the Team has gathered at the table. You can help me collect them if you like, so we can eat faster." Neo extended a paw for the boy to hold if he'd like, intending to lead him over to rouse Eliot and Clara. If Balerd had different ideas though, that was fine--the only thing the Meowstic would object to was any attempts to head back toward the entrance to the kitchen.

Nyx, for his part, had ignored Balerd with every drop of apathy in his body. The Vulpix hadn't so much as flinched when he was addressed by the child, his back turned as he watched the flames dance beneath the pot where vegetables were steaming. He heard Neo distracting the child, but paid it little mind as he pulled down a few sweet berries to slice with his claws on the cutting board. It was cathartic to divide them into even sections and display them in a dish for his Team to eat--there was no way for food to go against his wishes. Once these were finished all that was left was to collect the other parts of the meal and collect them in their dishes for the meal. He could get Killian or someone to prepare the table once Neo got the children out of the way, but for now he only needed to deal with the task at hand.
