Username: Miss Cherie
Soquili Name: Khuyana (Quechua): love, compassion, lovable
Preference List: White/purple (3), white/blue (2), blue/rainbow (1)
Personality: Khuyana’s life has revolved around the pursuit of knowledge. As a young filly, she first knew a hunger for it. This hunger has grown to become a true passion for the mare. She takes her position within the herd very seriously, always applying newly learned lessons to their end goals. With that near obsession, she has all but forgotten how to let loose. From time to time, their youngest sister can draw such a thing out of her with her antics. Otherwise, she is a rather stoic mare, though deeply committed to her sisters. She has not yet formed the sort of attachment that Ch’aska seems to have in Chromatos, although her early assumption regarding their relationship proved to be inaccurate.

On that note, she is not used to being wrong. Within the narrow field that she has studied, she is an expert. However, new mysteries have made themselves known and she is struggling to balance her own curiosity about them with an uneasiness that comes of not knowing. As the simple cure to such discomfort is to learn more whatever new things she has encountered, it can be difficult to shake Khuyana from a topic when it’s been broached.

When it comes to personal things, such as thoughts or feelings, she can be reticent. She’s still learning how to turn the topic away from whatever trading is being done to more intimate matters. Personal topics do not yet come with the ease that business talk does. Still, she is comfortable with her sisters and feels that she keeps little from them. But what, after all, could she have to keep back? While she is very curious about the mysteries in life, she finds little mystery in herself. It seemed natural to her that one would be focused on their trade rather than on developing deeper friendships. Those ties are for kin, or so she seems to believe.

Job: Lore Keeper or Trader, if the former is occupied
Do you agree to keep this girl in the herd, and notify Aria of all descendents? Naturally so! I would expect nothing less.
Prompt Chosen: #3
Prompt Response:

The ache of leaving their kin behind had left Khuyana feeling little like celebrating when they had found a Heart-point. She could recall, with almost perfect clarity, the faces of her loved ones. Yet that pain, too, could be pushed aside for the sake of the herd. Where once she had eagerly awaited their travels, all but desperate to put her studies to the test, she now found the excitement had waned. It was far too vital that she maintain her focus. Every place they had traveled to she quickly threaded into the tapestry of memory that she had worked for so long and so hard to begin at home. Piece by piece, she knotted them together, closing her eyes from time to time to run her thoughts along now familiar pathways, seeking out newly won knowledge.

Deep pools of water that reflected the moon bled into lush, verdant jungles full of foreign sounds. These were not her rainforests. They were not the great hewn cities of stone that had fought back those very forests. She wanted to remember it all, so that one day she would be able to recite it for her herd mates. Khuyana had once placed such dedication into her studies, learning the proper way to prepare mati, the cold and hot water that must be poured upon the leaves. As a filly she had been awed by the diverse legends surrounding their most sacred of brews. Whether the yerba mate had been given to them by a blue eyed god or by the moon herself, it was of unquestionable divine origin.

Everywhere they had traveled had held some great tale regarding the brew, before they had come to this place. This strange place with no sacred mati to drink through a bombilla. They had, in fact, never even heard of such a thing! Ah, she had known that there would be places too far away or too isolated to have heard of their wares, but it had shocked her slightly all the same. When at last they had ceased their search for a Heart-point, Khuyana was apprehensive. It was unlike Ch’aska to so quickly bond to another as she had to this… Chromatos. Ch’aska had been so sure of their success. Surely she knew what she was about?

Their sister would not lead them astray. Of that, Khuyana was certain, as she was certain of nothing else. It was a truth that she had held to throughout their journey. When her wings had tired, she had remembered it. When she had found herself missing her family, she had taken comfort in her sisters’ presence and in the knowledge that their eldest sister’s leadership could not leave them to founder. It had been difficult, at first, to trust, for she had never traveled beyond the reaches of the southern continent. Yet trusting had brought her a peace that nothing else could bring. Knowing was ever so much easier than blind faith, but that faith had been returned in kind.

Still, Chromatos was a new development. He… could almost have been their brother. It was strange. Certainly, Ch’aska responded as though he was. A brother in soul, perhaps, if not in body. She had taken the opportunity to rest, however, when it was offered. There had been such weariness within her, in mind as well as in body. Their time with the White Leaf herd was a refreshing one. She had not quite opened herself up to it, to them. Not at first. The temptation had grown over time, however, when she had caught snippets of this and that about the tea that they carried, themselves. The urge to ask questions, to learn more about these foreigners—though could they truly be foreign when she, Khuyana, was herself a traveler?—proved to be too great to resist. When at last she began to ask questions, they poured out of her until she had to force herself to stop asking. But truly, she wanted to know more.

How did they brew their tea? For how long? With what implements, and to what purpose? Their sacred use of tea fascinated her. It was a natural progression from their own traditions, was it not? Ah, but if she could only learn more about them, they could profit by one another’s experience. She found herself so wrapped up in this pursuit that it came as a surprise when Chromatos and Ch’aska approached the sisters with a proposal. They would form a new herd together, to serve as a sister herd to the White Leaf herd.

“… A sister herd?” Khuyana had found herself asking, almost shocked by the words that had left her mouth. Foolish! Of course that was what they had said, what they had meant. Whatever her expectations had been, this was surely the breakthrough that Ch’aska had been seeking, was it not? The new way forward for them all. With Ch’aska’s guidance and Killasia’s patient wisdom, they had gotten this far. But surely an alliance with Chromatos, whom she knew her eldest sister to be deeply bonded with, could only serve them well?

Well. She had sought to find a new way forward, had she not? To grow in the knowledge of tea and of its properties? How could they become the traders they were meant to be without taking risks? To give over their newly won independence felt like a failure, yet… yet she had missed the familiarity of family, of kin. Perhaps this new way of things could fulfill that need. Certainly, the White Leaf herd had showed them kindness enough. They might even, in time, grow to be friends, if not kin. “What does this new relationship imply?” How would they profit from it, and how would the White Leaf profit?

A sudden, burning determination filled her. Why had she learned when to describe the healthful benefits of this or that blend, if not to use such knowledge on the trade road? She had agreed to go, and she would not turn back now. This was an opportunity. She would be able to learn everything that she wanted to from the White Leaf if she agreed to this plan. She wasn’t an expert yet. She had so much more to learn, so much more room to grow. Until she could map out every twist and thread of this herd’s traditions, she would not be able to draw up the knowledge as a two legger might when they ran their fingers across the knots of a quipu. When the gods gave blessings, they did not do so without purpose. A new ache grew within Khuyana: an ache to be a part of this vision of Ch’aska’s and Chromatos’s.

Soquili Name: Aracely {it's Peruvian, so not sure if qualified?}
if not then: Moraeka
Preference List: 3 - long lashes one
Personality:

The best word to describe her? Passionate. She's full of it! And it exudes from her like a perfume, or a source of light. From simply everyday things, or sayings, to even the smallest and subtlest of gestures, it's evident. Graceful, poised, and elegant, she has a lightness, and airy quality about her. Warm, friendly, loving, and caring to all, she's not one to hold grudges, or hold things against others. She's a lover of life, and lives each day to its fullest, thanking it for its bounty, both good and "bad".

She weaves her words in a very detailed and imagery based fashion, using colourful terms, or expressions. This especially shines when interacting with flora, speaking to them as if they are long time friends of old. Social and extroverted by nature, she takes great joy out of traveling and conversing with others, easily able to get her tradeable goods emptied out with nearly any stop that's made with a customer! She can weave tales and stories, and paint elaborate pictures for her potential customers, to really get them awestruck with the precious goods she totes about. Truly, she's a salesmen by nature.

Many would call her quirky, too, and sometimes a little naive or too trusting. But while she may be a bit spacey at times, she's a quick learner, and won't let the same thing happen again. Or fall into the same issue again, without some sort of idea how to better handle it. A romantic, through and through, there are times that she can take things out of context and concoct her own assessment of a situation, or relation... that can be totally against the reality. This tends to lead to embarrassing situations, or her accidentally providing misinformation, and can cause quite a stir with her misunderstandings... but she means well.

Job: She's definitely a trader, as she absolutely loves the line of work. Traveling around, seeing the world, and meeting new individuals is the most thrilling thing to her. But she yearns to be an herbalist, as she has a great fondness for plants.
She adores the plant goods she ships, and often tends to them when in the growing state. She's designed little mobile ecosystems for them to grow in, either in the form of small packs or found glass and clay.... even container like jewelry. Anything that can hold soil, she'll use!
There's been times she's thought of dabbling in the entertainment field, but isn't entirely sure she's cut out for it.

Do you agree to keep this girl in the herd, and notify Aria of all descendents?: yepep

Prompt Response:

It'd really been such a long trek, through various terrains, and surfaces beneath hooves and paws that were thoroughly patted down by the steadfast party of traders. Spirits were varying, individual to individual. The wear and tear of the constant ongoing movement could be seen in their demeanor, the way some of the traders carried themselves, and the mere expressions that were contorted on their features. It was understandable, but it was part of the job. It could be never ending, or at least feel that way, but for Mora it was all worth it.

For her, the journey was just as important as the destinations they would come across. The sights, smells, sounds, the elements, and creatures varying in range were pinpoints of spice added to the slow cooking stew that was their adventure across the many lands. Each enhanced the experience with rich flavors of all kinds! Much like the symphony of a good tea: the company of fellow wanderlust traders a base and represented the leaves, with encounters akin to the herbs bundled inside. The unpredictable weather was a nice warm pour of water, heating up the mixture to create a beautiful ribbon of steam that was the emotions and energy that would rise into the rest of the universe... only growing stronger with time.

Paw pads were sore, achy, even if seasoned in the art of travel. The unyielding heat was an additional weight to the joints and bones of the merchants, but a break was not yet in sight. No, they had to get past the open area to find a safe area to settle in and rest their weary bodies. But Mora wasn't complaining. Her aquamarine bright blue eyes twinkled anew, shimmering with awe of the bounty around them. Her wings kept elevated slightly, but remained in the folded position, to let the whispers of wind that would grace them slip between the folds of the delicate membrane, and curve down her spine. Such a divine sensation~ it was so rejuvenating and refreshing, like a sip of cold, iced tea, with a hint of lemon and raspberry essence. Feathers rustling gently from the giggling breeze, she had even closed her eyes for a little while as she did quite often, when on long, unchanging paths, legs able to move automatically without need for the confirmation from her eyes.

Such a lovely day...~ Though not all of her comrades could agree, what with the groaning, and heavy sighs that escaped a good few. But Mora didn't mind.

But just as her eyes were peeling back open from their restful state, sprouted at the side of the dirt path they were following, a very familiar flower caught her eye. Slowing, to a pause, she gave it a moment of her time to take in and lather with her awe. A gorgeous, oriental lily, its petals a pristine white curled outwards, with a lovely little divot of green just along the center of each one. Dainty, but full, stamen stood proudly from the center, their pollen powder lightly sprinkled along some of the petals from the brush of wind.

Leaning her head down ever so carefully, Mora took a small sniff, smile spreading along her face. Instantly, memories of a past stop came flooding in, that held the very same flowers. A rather upscale, and dignified place, with flowers and plants crowding everywhere you'd look! There was a great amount of elegance, tradition, and manners, but not at all stiff or unwelcoming. Respect was abundant, but so was the warmth that radiated from every individual, and institution. She'd wanted to stay longer... but it was so very far out of the way.... So for the time being it was put on the back burner.

But maybe... sometime in the future, that would change. With that sweet, soft smile on her face, Mora gave the flower a coo of a goodbye, before departing it, to continue on for the next stop.
