I am an Imp! Demons pushed Imps out of Asphodel a long time ago, but in return the Litches gave us Graven's Gift. The Litches are very close comrades for us and I doubt an Imp wouldn't come to the help of a fellow Litch in need! Imps are really good at building roads, we've built a lot of them over the Below, but most notably the Woodroad in Alcyone! Imps often form large family like units called Cartels and trade is very important for us! Most Imps are really friendly and it's hard to get on our bad side. Of course, sour trading deals is definitely one way to do this! I decided to draw my Big Sister! I love her, and she's an Imp like me! I just wish she loved herself as much as I love her!
She was very happy to turn in her assignment to Miss Lyra. She had worked hard to capture her Big Sister!

I am a whole lot of Nightmares in one. That I can tell I am a Fallen, Grimm, Imp, and Demon! I guess that means I have a lot of cultures to talk about. I think I look the most like a Demon and they originated in Summerforge. But they expanded further and further north, even pushing Imps out of their territory! I don't know why my parents must have liked each other! Maybe it was the Fallen parents! They tend to be very level headed and reasonable! I know the Fallen worship Saints along with the Nine, and there are six saints! Not a whole lot is known about Grimm sadly! They believe they formed packs and they can shift into big wolves! I drew you Miss Lyra, because you're a Demon and I'm also part Demon!
It had been a hard assignment for Foras. He had frowned when he was asked to right about his race. He knew he should be proud and happy about who he was, but it was so hard to fit in when you didn't look like the other kids around you! He did still give Miss Lyra a smile when he handed in his homework however.

Username: Geyser Eelborn Nightmare: Batholith Prompt Answer: Once upon a time, there was a happy little Demon. Rago the Rageslayer I will level with you, Miss Lyra, I hate writing. I hate my ancestors. If I had a time machine, I’d go back in time and make sure they never met. And I hate this stupid assignment. He actually felt better after writing that. He’d erase it later, before he turned in his assignment. It was the harvest festival in Summerforge, and all of the Demons were going to worship the Lady of Summer and thank her for seeing them through another year. Rago went to the festival after putting the wheat away and looked for his friend, Kallia. He looked all over the festival for her, but he could not find her. They had agreed to meet at the dancing stage, where she was performing for everyone with the rest of her dance troop. But by the time Rago got there, she was nowhere to be found. The crowds were thick with celebrants and pickpockets, and with every second waiting, Rago’s desperation grew by leaps and bounds. Where she was? He had no idea. He had hoped very much to find her, because on this day, this day of days, he had something he wanted to tell her. And something to ask her.
He found her at last in the shade of an oak and another man’s arms. His heart sank low in his chest and without a word, he turned away from her and her paramour. He walked down to the shore of the lake and threw the necklace he had made for Kallia into the water. He watched it sank and, still silent, he turned on his heel and walked back to the festival. There he danced and sang and celebrated; he fell asleep that night with his own arms wrapped around two beautiful androgynes. They counted the stars together that night, and the night after.
He never spoke to Kallia again.Eh, that was good enough. He erased the rant at the top of his paper and turned in his story to the teacher. She would probably grade him harshly; he’d never studied much Demon history, only heard the violent bits from his old comrades. This would have to do.

I am a Imp. Books say Imps are supposed to have big families, but my family is only Momma, Zaza, and Willow. I guess that means we're not very good Imps, but that's okay. I like my family just the way it is. We're also supposed to have cartels, but I don't think Momma or Zaza have one, and they don't seem to want to be one, so I guess I don't either. Maybe if Willow wanted to be in one. Imps are also supposed to like collecting things, and I don't. Well except for maybe clothes that Zaza makes for me. They're warm and soft and I love them.
Here is a picture of my momma:
There all done! She finished up her doodle of Jela and then gave her assignment to Miss Lyra.

Username: Geyser Eelborn Nightmare: Melisara Prompt Answer: I picked as my partner Neptune, an Academy Grimm.Melisara: First thing first: what do you think of being a Grimm? Neptune: I guess it’s okay? I mean, it’s kind of lonely. I guess I’m not a very good Grimm—I don’t even have a pack or know any other Grimms personally. Melisara: How do you feel about knowing that members of your race are still alive, then? Neptune: Well, at first I was kind of excited. Because I thought I would want to go live with them. I mean, I thought maybe I would fit in better there, but I don’t think that will happen now, so mostly I’m kind of disappointed. Melisara: What aspects of their culture make you feel as if you won’t fit in? And is there anything of it you’ve heard so far that you like? Neptune: Well, the trials…But I guess it doesn’t really allow for people like me. I used to kind of be able to see better out of my right eye, but it got worse, and other stuff gets worse, so yes. I guess I like that packs are really a thing? I suppose? I don’t know. Melisara: Would you start a pack if you could? And what culture would you say you identify with, if any? Neptune: Maybe, I guess, if I didn’t have to stand up to, like, abled standards, I suppose. But I don’t know. I don’t know, I don’t really think I fit in anywhere, but before I came here, two of my moms were Demons, and I had a Geist dad, so I guess maybe Demonic culture? Melisara: Anything else you’d like to say? Neptune: No, not really. Melisara smiled and turned in the paper, neatly written up. When she was done, she sat back down next to Neptune and smiled at him. She was glad this assignment had given her an opportunity to talk to him and find out more about him.

 Username: nepsah Nightmare: Neptune
Prompt Answer: Melisara chose me as her partner so I interviewed her too.
Neptune took the assignment very literally and ended up writing everything down word-for-word (accent and all, being primarily a phonetic speller), minus... some things he thought might not be relevant... He just hoped that Miss Lyra would be able to read his handwriting. He didn't exactly have very stable hands....
Neptune > S-so... um... what is... being a baphomet like...?
Melisara: Well, Ah quat lahk bein' a Baphomet. Fer the most part, our culture don't come much inta conflict with the others--lahk how Geists have trouble with ritualistic theft, or how races think Litches are a bit odd 'cause they're so socially awkward. But most folks who grow up near Demons understand Baphomets pretty well--the only trouble is when they don't take our gifts seriously.
Neptune > um... I h-heard that the gifts are very uh... serious business... that's true...?
Melisara: Oh, yes! Reciprocity is the backbone o' our entahr culture! If a Baphomet gives you a gift, yer expected t' give one back. Most races consider that to be maghty flirtatious, so it's led to not a few cases o' mistaken interest. But we believe in bein' courteous to our guests, an' no Baphomet who's ever given anythang to anyone else will ever want for nothin'. Most races don't realahz that. [She blinked, then giggled] Er, Ah guess there is a downsahd t' bein a Baphomet after all! Folks are always offendin' our sensibilities.
Neptune > //continues to write slowly;;// A-ah, okay... that sounds very... um... intricate... i can uh, see how that would lead to um.... some offense... but i'm glad that i haven't. O-oh, um, what... what kinds of gifts are p--popular?
Melisara: Well, some Baphomets mahght get offended if they offered help t'someone and they didn't get any help in return. Kahnda depends on circumstance, though. Oh, gifts? Depends on the person, more or less. Ah lahk t' give gifts that match what Ah thank the person would lahk. But a lot of Baphomets treat favors as gifts as well. Sort of, "Ah'll help clean yer carriage today if you'll let me borra yer lawnmower tomorrow" kinda thang. Neptune > A-ah, okay, thank you... um.. uhh... wh--what's your favorite um... part of baphomet history...?
Melisara: Well, mah favorite part o' Baphomet history...well, Ah'd have to say the story o' the War o' the Stones is an inspirin' one, when Rex Imara unahted the Rexhavens as one. She was a well-loved ruler, very kahnd an' very strong. But mah other favorite part o' Baphomet history is the part we know nothin' about--it was whatever prompted the folks o' Alcyone to bury a bunch o' soul stones under their city. Takin' care of all the little ones so that they could grow up in a better world, one without war.
Neptune > O-ohh... that-- um, would be interesting to learn a-about. I would um... like to find out more about that, too.. I guess, um, I'd be interested to know how grimm stones ended up there...
Melisara: Ah thank it's a very good thing, Neptune. So, Ah guess now it's mah turn, ain't it?
Once finished, he got up to turn his paper in, then sat back down next to Melisara and returned her smile. This was nice! He liked getting to know her better.

Prompt Answer: Kobe listened to his teacher explain the homework, feeling a bit down about it since there is next to nothing to know about his race. He was however, excited to draw a picture of another grimm. He skittered off when the bell rang, going to ask Tobias and Keegan for help on other homework before hunkering down in his room to write his paragraph on his race.
I am a grimm and I do not no much about being one. A really long time ago there was a war or sumthing and now there are not so many grimms here. I do no that we got ears on our head that are fluffy! And fluffy tails and body. Grimms like thes things called paks and I even got one! I have my bestest friend, Keegan and Tobikins and my twin brothur Crispin! They are my family cause we do not got one. I love them and hope one day we can no a lot more about grimms.
Kobe looked down at his paper and pouted, writing was certainly not his strong suit but he certainly tried. He even considered to ask Tobias or Keekee to look it over for him but they had their own work too and he had already bothered them for help. So the next day, he turned in his paper to his teacher. "H-Hope it's okay.. I.. d-did my best." He told her shly.

Prompt Answer: Andromeda loved this assignment. They were very proud of being a Fallen! So of course they started right away, even taking the time to draw a picture of themself.
I’m a Fallen! My familie family is from the Winged Eyeulls Isles. My mommy and daddy are really busy and they wanted me to learn lots and lots so they sent me here! Fallen are really nice and polite. I try to be nice and polite too. At home a lot of the grown-ups liked to read history books and talk about things that hapened happened a long time ago. I like to learn about those things too! My mommy was really good at it. Fallen also have really big wings with lots of fethers feathers. We have to take care of them or they will look really bad and fall out.
Satisfied with their response, Andromeda attached the picture they’d drawn and then went to go hand it in to Miss Lyra.

Username: VerityHattress Nightmare: Yihad Prompt Answer: (Yihad is interviewing a made up imp named Carlyle.) Yihad was really nervous about talking with this other nightmare, an Imp that hu had ended up having to pair off with due to not having anyone else to partner up with. Just thinking of talking to this near stranger was making hum want to just run and hide. However, hu wanted to get a good grade in this class, and the only way to do that was to interview this imp.Yihad: So Carlyle... how do you like being... being an Imp? Carlyle: Not good at this interview thing are you? *chuckles* Yeah I like being an Imp. Yihad: Okay... why you like... like being one? Carlyle: There are many reasons actually. For one, my tail! Oh how soft and fluffy it is! I often find myself at night just cuddling my own tail. Is that weird? Yihad: I... I don't kn-Carlyle: Well anyway that isn't the only thing. I like the way my ears are. They're really floppy and I like how they move, especially in the wind. Would you like to touch them and see? Yihad: Ahhhh-Carlyle: Oh yeah! I also like my horns. Makes me seem more tough than I am. In truth I am just a fluff ball that is full of a bubbly personality! Yihad: Umm... how about... you know, not physical traits about your race? Carlyle: Huh? Yihad: You know, like.... your culture? Like... government, courting, and family? Carlyle: Oh! Yeah I like those too. I'll start with government, as you mentioned that first. I find our way of government okay, not much for it to be honest. I would rather go for a hike than care about those matters. The mayors and bosses bit sometimes confuses me though I'll admit. I'm fine with it all though. Yihad: Mayors and what? Did you say... bosses? Carlyle: You mean you haven't learned about those? Well then, the mayors are elected officials who rule over the imps, and the bosses are those who are leaders of cartel families. The bosses have more power than the mayors. Yihad: Okay... and how about courting? It seems rather... confusing to me. Carlyle: Confusing? Well if you say so Yihad! We tend to be very affectionate, but we also tend to jump into relationships. That I guess could be a problem, but it hasn't been for me so far! It rather fits me to be honest. Let's see... I guess I could see how the other races would be confused. I mean, it isn't uncommon for other nightmares to be wondering if an imp wants to be just a friend, a romantic partner, or just a fling or something along those lines. Is that why you were confused? Yihad: *nods* I see. So how about family? All imp families I see seem really close. Carlyle:... Well... that is a rather hard topic for me, as I don't have parents. Yihad: I'm sor- Carlyle: But if I had a family it would be the best thing ever! Imp families are really close and tight knit! I would never feel alone, and I would always have someone to turn to! I also would love to be a part of a cartel. Multiple families working together for trading? Fantastic! Yihad: Well... that is a good thing. It was... umm... nice to talk I guess. *quickly gets up and moves back to original seat in the back* Yihad finishing writing everything up from what they had discussed, writing word for word on everything that had been said. This imp was way too energetic for him, and when the end of the interview came hu was quick to try and end the conversation and leave so hu could be in a more quiet place where Carlyle wasn't at.
With the interview over, hu made sure to fix any errors in hus writing before turning it in to Lyra, making sure to do so when no one else was around so hu wouldn't have to deal with any of the other students, especially Carlyle. He seemed like a nice imp, but he just made Yihad feel way too uncomfortable! Too energetic for hum for sure.

Username: Lady Argentum Draconis Nightmare: Raia Prompt Answer:Raia: Oh, alright. -small smile- So...I'm supposed to as you about being a Geist... Iah: *smiles back* Alright... I will try to answer best that I can Raia: So...are you cache born? Iah: No actually, I was born and grew up in Aynor Raia: Oh! -wonders how she keeps getting the non-orphans for these assignments- So, having actually been awoken in Geist territory how do you consider yourself almost like...another species from the Geist kids here? Iah: *unconsciously nibbles on his lip as he thinks about the answer* well I cant say I'm the most geist like out there, but I dont really see them as a different species than me. We're all the same, just they get introduced to more diversity in cultures than geists who just grow up back at home Raia: Do you think you both value the same things? Iah: its hard to say. I think Fundamentally we do because the school does have a lot of older geists but then they've also been influenced by other cultures so I think cache born geists struggle a bit more with geist values. Raia: Do you think that's a bad thing or a good one? Iah: well I think it depends in the long run. If they want to return to a more geist controlled territory then its probably bad, if they plan to stay here then I think it probably helps in the long run in blending in with other cultures just as long as they dont forget they are a geist Raia: I think that's a fair assessment. Iah: I mean its good that we're getting the chance to broaden our perspectives in coming here and growing up with other races, but at the same time its good to also remember the culture that made your race who it was too. Raia: -nods- That is very true. Do you find your ideals may be changing because of your experiences here at the Academy? Or do you think you stick more to your cultural heritage? Iah: I think they are. Before I didnt really pay attention too much to geist heritage because well everyone around me was a geist so it was a bit of an awakening coming to school, and this is a mixing pot of all different kind of races, I think it would be impossible to not change in some way Raia: True. -looks over her notes- I think...I have enough for Miss Lyra. Do you want to ask me something now?

He didn’t like being too nosy* Alright, I’ll guess I’ll start out basic. Where you cache born? Or did you transfer to the school at a later grade? Raia: -takes a deep breath- I was given to the Academy as an infant. Iah: *oh why did he have a feeling if he continued down that path there were going to be land mines. He kept his face even though and nodded before wondering what would be safe to switch to* Living here at the academy do you associate yourself with Demon values? *He hoped that was safe enough right?* Raia: Not really. Granted Demon society tries to say that it's honorable, but...-shakes her head, beads clinking gently- at least a Demon will very forwardly say they dislike you as opposed to Fallen, but when your society places "ambition" as one of it's top favorable traits, that says something about you... Iah: then would it be something you would like to change? what would you prefer demons be recognized for? Raia: Honestly, I don't know. Demon history isn't exactly...very positive when you think about it. Iah: so if you could... would you wish to be another race? Raia: Honestly? No. I don't think I'd do very well as another race. Despite everything, Demons are pretty tolerant of people just being...themselves. Iah: *well it was good that there was at least something Raia seemed to like about her race* do you think that with demons taking in a whole bunch of different races to the academy that maybe they’ll end up adapting values from the cultures around them as well? Raia: I would hope so...but that doesn't mean they will. There are just...a lot of things I think Demons are trying to atone for. Iah: and last question because I don’t want to overwhelm any one with questions... would you recommend more people trying to learn about your race? Raia: Well considering you're in the thick of Demon territory...you already get a pretty healthy helping so I guess it would depend about how interested you were after all that you get. Iah: that is true... still thank you for suffering through the interview. Raia: You're welcome. Thank you for putting up with me. Iah made sure to write down all the answers and make it more presentable than the writing he had used at the time. After it was more legible he got up and turned the paper in.
