The fingers of his left hand curled tightly in the front of Ever's shirt, pulling him up off the bed so their faces were close. "I kind of like my chances. All I'd have to do is knock you out, take my watch, and leave." It was sounding more appealing by the moment, and the truth of that violent promise was bright in pale eyes. He wanted to do it, the excuse was there. "You stole it from my pocket." It wasn't a question, and Ever could probably smell the brandy on his breath. Ezekiel had owned the watch for years, he'd never been careless with it. "You give me a hard time for making an honest living, and you no better than a common thief."

"I found it on the ground." Not defensive but lazy, casual -- as if none of this mattered, eyes gone sharp in his face. There was just a hint of tension around the edges, but it wasn't one of fear, exactly. It was the bracing that came before a punch, mouth parted just a little and high points of color brightening his cheeks. "Prove I didn't."

"You dipped your damn hand into my pocket when you pressed up close at the bar." He couldn't prove it, of course, and Ever knew that. Just because Ezekiel knew when and how, it didn't really mean much beyond providing a spark for righteous anger. This was about as emotional as the taller man got, and the numerous rounds of brandy leading up to this confrontation were not helping him rationalize the situation in the least. He wanted to hit him. He wanted to shake him in anger and slam him up against the wall. He wanted to dig his fingers in until pale skin bruised beneath them. And he didn't know why, or when he'd gotten a taste for such blatant violence. All at once he dropped him, making a grab for wrist attatched to the hand still holding the watch hostage, twisting it at a painful angle. His other had shot out, fingers and thumb curling around his jaw as he pressed his palm over his mouth, trying to muffle any cry of pain or shout for help. In the end he wound up kneeling over him, both legs on the bed now,

The twist was enough to make Ever's hand pop open, a sharp sound smothered by the hand over his mouth and the watch tumbling out onto the mattress beside him. His cheeks were very pink, now, eyes cutting sideways to where the watch sat, like he was still considering if he could get his hands on it again, like he was still debating grabbing it the second Zeke let go. They cut back up to the other man's face, halfway challenging, as he bit down on the meat of his palm.

He watched the watch fall from thin fubgers to bounce on the blankets, but any delight in the small victory was cut short as teeth suddenly sank into his palm. It pulled a harsh hiss from the man, but he bit down down on the curse, the sounds of obvious pain, and very nearly snarled down at Ever as he gave that thin wrist a harder twist, bringing it up over the blonde's head to press into the mattress at an odd angle. Faces close again, he growled down at him. "Let go, or I'll break it." It wasn't an idle threat. They'd already moved past the point of a peaceful resolution.

The scuffle was enough to unclench his jaw and make Ever go still, at least -- mouth free, now, he could have called for one of the girls, but. Instead he stayed there, peering up at Zeke, jaw clenched crookedly against the pain, and still just a touch challenging. "Worth it?"

Taking his hand back with a grimace he grabbed the watch, fingers curling around it tightly. Fighting with the temptation to bury knuckles into the pale like of Ever's jaw. Instead he let the wrist go slowly, easing off the bed and away, tucking watch and chain into the pocket in his trousers. "I don't lnow," he countered, pale eyes meeting dark, every bit as challenging as a shall smirk tugged at his lips. "Was it?" Ezekiel didn't start this mess, he'd just finished it.

"Hundred percent." His lip was split, now; Ever licked it, briefly, and brought a shaky hand up to swipe at the spot. His thumb came away bloody and he made a rough sound. That wasn't going to be pretty tomorrow. He didn't get up, though, watching Zeke more warily, now.

Ever had a bit of a reckless streak. Zeke eyed him, the splash of blood on his lip, and the bite on his palm gave a painful little throb. It would bruise, making the whole hand tender. Something he wasn't looking forward to, given how much he used his hands. b*****d. He shook his head after a moment, turning towards the door without another word. When he opened the door there wasn't anyone obviously lingering about, but he caught movement at the end of the hall before he turned in the opposite direction and left.
