His plan so far hadn't gone very well, although he had slowly seen more trolls arrive to the place. A tall yellowblood adult had appeared, hurrying over to the pair of redbloods and she was seemingly involved with the group. Forera had gotten involved with a group of trolls he had noted absently, a tealblood and a pair of adults and a child too, who looked to the same as the other. Something in the back of his mind said that the tealblood was more important than the others, but the information was just out of reach and he frowned. He figured he'd find out soon, through Forera knowing or other means. But still, no one else around that he knew and he grew a little antsy, the fiddling with his belt more animated as he still glanced around. He was definitely out of place now, with everyone else conversing while he stood around.

Just as he was considering going over to join his sister, which was something he knew he'd regret, Anguis felt a familiar voice and a nudging at his side. Glancing over, he gave a grin at the face at his side. "Hey tiny," He replied back, glad to see a friendly face. "You come here often?" He tacked on, trying to contain a snicker.

Another day, another rebel meeting, and Athene was honestly a little excited. She had been meeting with her friends more recently, coming to know the scouts better, but being with all of them at the same time was always a joy. Working for the rebels was always a personal happiness for her too and she had gladly closed the shop for today, almost all her orders already done and ready to go anyways. Work had become less and less of a worry for her recently, something that she did in between meetings with friends and helping with the rebellion. Faintly she smiled at how everything had changed, so long ago she had felt so lonely and yet now she had such good friends. If only she could tell her past self what was in store for her.

Stopping just before the room she needed to go in, she smoothed down her outfit and ran nervous hands through her hair, giving a slight tug on the length. It had gotten quite long recently and she hadn't got it cut yet, just simply considering keeping the length. Would the others like it? She hadn't shown it to them yet, most of it pinned back while she worked and it was harder to see the length then. She would find out soon though and taking a deep breath, she walked in, looking around for her friends.

Vremea was easy to find, already near Odette and she walked over with a grin, weaving through the crowd. A wave was given to Byakko, although she wasn't sure that she would notice, and she took note of the crowd around her. Most of the trolls she recognized already, a smile coming to her face at Maneki, but the tealblood was new. She spotted his other nearby, surprise coming to mind as she realized they were twins. He was near a greenblood and a quick turn to scan the rest saw Keionx and another yellowblood. An interesting crowd for sure tonight.

Her focus was on her friends though and she appeared at Vremea's side, giving a small smile to her friends before noticing the redblood by Odette that she didn't know. A polite nod went to her as her grin slipped, her face turning to that normal mask she schooled. "Vremea, Odette, it's so nice to see you two again," She said, a tinge of excitement in her voice, "It's also a pleasure to meet you, miss..?" She addressed the new troll, still pleasant. If she was near Odette, she was sure to be fine, but Athene was still a little wary.

She giggled and leaned on the wall. "Nah, actually. It's my first time around these parts. I haven't been a rebel for a while, and not enough to be at the home base or anything fancy like that. But I didn't take you for a rebel type. I mean, the face fuzz is edgy, but I didn't know it was supposed to be a hint that you could take the scruffy anti-establishment dealio all. The. Way!" With that, Luxara turned towards Forera and called out, "Aww, come on For, he can't be that lonely if I'm here. Call it fifty percent less loner." She glanced at Anguis again. "No more than that cuz I'm tiny or something."

"I haven't been here much too, so I can't say I'm much more of a rebel than you are," He smiled, "although do you think the facial hair helps? I feel like I'm sticking out, I really just want to know how the rebels are. My last impression wasn't.. great." He gave a shrug at that, trying to pass it off as casual, but it obviously bugged him.

The thought dropped from his mind though as she called out to Forera, taking a moment to make a face at his sister. There were some things you couldn't change. "I wasn't a loner anyways, she was totally making it up," Anguis grouched, although he knew it was true as he ran his fingers through his belt again. "Although I wouldn't say fifty percent. Maybe fourty, or thirty five? You have a lot of height to make up on."

Zeffer's laughter echoed through the halls, over both Aprife's 'compliment' and Muerte's jeer. "Yeah, I'm a real derdy kinda guy." He retorted, smirking fangedly at his matesprit as he returned with the broom and proceeded to sweep up the glass. He ignored the greenblood for the most part afterward, allowing Akko to deal with his bad attitude and Maneki's apologies as he took care of the mess. It wouldn't do for the kid to out himself on accident and destroy all Akko's hard work. Who knew how some of them might react, especially some of the newcomers. He scanned the filling room with mismatched eyes, sizing them up in silence. It looked like all Akko's new officers were present...and some of them had arrived with company. He would have to go investigate further when the opportunity presented itself.

Once the glass had been scooped up and disposed of, Zeffer returned to Akko's side to ruffle Maneki's hair fondly. "No problem, kid. Just listen to Akko and be a little more careful next time." Zeffer rolled his eyes as Muerte prattled on, trying hard to mask a snort of amusement as a cough. If he didn't let well enough alone, Akko was sure to get him for it, sooner or later. He couldn't help but begin to scan the room again, snickering as one of the new faces returned the last bouncy ball. He was sure Akko would have his head for the fiasco, later....

“Zeffer, huh?” Aerona muttered. There were far too many highbloods in here for her comfort. She fiddled with one of her braids idly, her nose wrinkled a touch with their presence. ‘So long as they’ve been marked, I guess.’ Aerona thought. It was a dangerous comment to make in Odette’s company, so she kept it in the back of her thinkpan. She was better off listening to her own caste.

Aerona gawked when Odette pointed out the tealblooded leaders. “S-seriously?” The kid looked like nothing special (if not a spritely little grub), and while the weary leader had a sense of age and battle-wear about her the redblood couldn’t fathom her interest in forming a rebel group. Aerona had placed her trust in Odette, and at the moment it wasn’t seeming like quite the hemospectrum-equalizing crew she imagined. Perhaps because the higher blooded trolls could get away with it. She gritted her teeth and only calmed when Odette mentioned her companions. Right – the bows one, and the others. She preferred not to remember that moment at Bloodfest, but at least Odette was familiar with these other trolls. She rejuvenated her enthusiastic smile, and was about to speak when she was interrupted.

Speak of the ruffles, there was Bows. Aerona grinned and watched as she interacted with the redblood, a blush coming to her cheeks. Her eyes lingered on Vremea’s elaborate outfit and trailed up to her broach before settling. “Yeah, glad to be here,” she responded. Aerona relaxed her weight onto a leg and continued to appraise the room. Vremea and Odette seemed to have some – quadrant related – chatting to do, so she felt like a third wheel. Fortunately, one of the other scouts (damn, they were coming out of the walls, weren’t they?) appeared in front of her as if she’d wished for it. One of the cooler scouts at the booth, she hadn’t paid her any mind when she had stopped by. But, if Odette trusted her it would be worthwhile to network, and Aerona conceded to shoot her a wink.

“Aerona’s fine. No fancy titles necessary for me, miss...?” She smiled and stuffed a hand into her back pocket while waving playfully with another.

There were SO many trolls. Bird-Aunt, Bow-Aunt, and Pine-Aunt were here too! Just like Forera, Maneki wanted to bounce around and introduce himself to everyone and hug those he knew, but it was clear that bouncing around and being rambunctious was a very bad idea. He'd been lectured now more than once about thinking before he acted. At least Forera wasn't angry about the ball hitting her. In fact, she was ecstatic and complimenting him on the bulls eye shot. Laughing brightly, Maneki grinned toothily and took the ball from the tealblood, "Nice to meetcha Forera! I'm Maneki and this is my... My... uhm... Byakko. She's the leader!" Maneki's gaze shifted to the HUGE MUSCLEY TEEN. Stars practically twinkled in his eyes as he whispered, "I want a caterpillar on my lip when I grow up too..."

Zeffers tousling of his hair broke Maneki from his adoration. Grinning, he batted at the older troll's hand, "H-hey!" His smile tempered, but remain steadfastly there, "Okay, I can do that." Looks like things were going to go back to normal. That made him feel much more comfortable.

Looking back to Byakko, he tugged gently on the lion's pelt on the front of her outfit, "I'm gonna go and help out Uncle Reefy, okay?" When she assented his decision, Maneki returned his attention to Forera, "Maybe we can play later? You seem super fun and cool! And your brother too!"

Aprife was still close to the group, so chances were likely he had heard Maneki asked permission. Still, the child was eager and bounced on the balls of his feet. "I'm ready to help you! Just tell me what to do."

      ∞ Ephias Sagine

It was amazing to think that the rebels had been hiding just around the corner from where he lived.

Not literally of course. It was still at least an hour hike from Chittentown, maybe closer to two from his hive. Even so, the Phoenix Initiative HQ was far closer than he would have imagined. All those sweeps he had spent in wilful ignorance, in denial of the very possibility of change, they had been just a couple miles away formulating plans of action to overthrow the system. Incredible. A little depressing too.

Ephias could not keep his eyes from wandering as he followed Milieu through the tunnels. He had grown accustomed to her silence, and in fact welcomed it. Though his friends were familiar with his taciturn nature, his knew little enough of the tealblood that he felt an obligation to indulge her. Except in this case, she did not need indulging. With her communication limited to hand signals and her whiteboard, small-talk was kept to a minimum. It made for a nice change, not having to frantically assemble conversation topics.

Wolly on the other hand was not so thrilled.

Of course the lusus had come along. After the incident in New Hemisect, the sheep was determined that he would never let Ephias leave his sight ever again. Already he had failed somewhat in that regard, as his wool covered his eyes. Wolly was not bothered by that. After all, he could still smell Ephias. He knew he was close by.

“The caves provide a natural d-defence...” Ephias mused, as they turned down another passageway. Their progress through the rebel base had been anything but straightforward. The passages wound and interlaced so many times, he nearly lost track of the turns they had made. It would take some getting used to... the emptiness as well. He was surprised to see how empty the caverns were. He had gleaned some of the Phoenix Initiative's recent background from Milieu, but he had hoped... well, there was no reason not to hope.

“Vremea will be coming?” he inquired. He had known that the yellowblood would be accompanying Etsali, and in truth could not wait to see another friendly face. He had heard all kinds of rumours about the rebel faction, and not all of them were good. Though his face may not of shown it, he was positively rattled. He wanted nothing more than to instigate change, but suppose the Phoenix Initiative was just a collection of violent anarchists? Suppose they wanted to overthrow the system only to instate their own mode of tyranny? Suppose...

There was a lot to consider. For the present he would be of an open-mind with a healthy dose of scepticism.

More trolls were arriving, namely more of the group in the back— And... Ohh man, Forera would recognize that voice anywhere. Unable to suppress the grin on her face, Forera took note of both their names— "Maneki and Byakko, huh? What if... I go with Neki. Nek nek neekkki. Annndd..." Glancing up at the stone faced tealblood, Rera quirked a brow. Leader, huh? That was... Interesting. Eyes gleaming, she couldn't help but want to give her a nickname, too. "Ko. Nice to meet you."

Forera's eyes crinkled at the edges before she looked back down at Neki, hearing his slight mutter and bursting out an obnoxiously loud laugh, unable to contain herself. "C-caterpillar...! Oh my gog, you're a riot Neki!" She managed to stutter, her laughter lowering in intensity as she cleared her throat and nodded eagerly at his offer. "Yeah, sure thing kid! Go help out 'Uncle Reefy.'" Forera couldn't help but giggle loudly, glancing at whom she assumed to be Mr. Reefy and raising her eyebrows in amusement. "Awe, thanks! I totally know I am! I'll be oveerrr like, there," She gave Neki a thumbs up, standing up straight and tossing her hair back before pointing over toward her two friends.

Offering a peace sign to the group, the tealblood bounded toward them with a wide grin before slowing a little and taking in the scene. When were Anguis and Luxara so... Friendly to eachother? Why wasn't she surprised that he was suddenly 8 feet tall or something? Forera squinted at them before nearing, placing a hand on her hip. "I mean, you do like, talk enough for two, Lux. You're probably worth like, Anguis and MEE with just your voice alone!" Letting out a giggle, Forera rolled her eyes, having heard Anguis's defensive statement. "You're like, tooootally a loner, Angs. Even you know it!" Forera stated, then fluttered her eyes. "I think we all know who the social butterfly is." It had taken a while to get her back to her normal energy, but now Forera just exuded confidence. And she felt so great.

Etsali was still having a little trouble wrapping her head around how weird it seemed to be here, deep in the base of the Rebels and, for all intents and purposes one of them now. They'd been on opposite sides the first time they'd come to her attention, after all, and she remembered all too well how she'd felt about them destroying her bases and confusing her teammates. She wasn't holding any grudges about that, not anymore at least, but she knew it wouldn't have occurred to her to even want to be here if it hadn't been Ephias' idea.

What were the benefits of picking this side over the other? She wasn't sure there would be any, except for the chance that they might be more approving of her lifestyle than the military would have been when they found out. Maybe. It was hard to predict the morals that other trolls lived by. Pushing it to the side as a bridge to cross once she had more information on her new potential allies, Etsali glanced around the tunnel walls with a hum, thinking back to Vremea's tour.

The thief had a good memory, but it wasn't photographic. She'd tried not to stray too far from the main rooms to keep from getting lost, but now she needed a moment to reorient herself. Once she was pretty sure she had her bearings, she started for the next intersection and started to turn the corner. She paused at the sound of voices though, and peeked around the corner first instead. And just like she'd thought, there was Keionx. Ephias hadn't told her that she was coming.

She was halfway back the way she'd come, fingers worrying at the latch of a pouch on her belt in irritation, before she thought to wonder who it was her rival had been talking to, but she couldn't immediately place him anyway. Shrugging it off, she retraced her steps and took a different turn to head into the meeting room, where she figured she'd hang around and people watch until she saw someone she knew. Except that that had happened almost immediately, because it was hard to miss the way Forera's voice cut through a crowd.

Grinning, Etsali watched the tealblood move to rejoin a group and then made a beeline for it. "Forera! Luxara!" She came to an unsure halt at Anguis. Logically she knew who he had to be, but she couldn't for the life of her remember if anyone had ever mentioned what his name might be. "Uh...Forera's brother! I wasn't expecting to see you guys here!"

Milieu calmly followed the progression of tunnels, Ephias at the rear following closely. What had seemed like a maze the first time felt... Much more comfortable now. Milieu's fingers brushed the side of the cave walls as they walked, remembering which turn to take. It was very twisty and she would have reassured Ephias of where they were going, but...

At least the other teen didn't seem disturbed at the silence. Sighing from her nose, she kept going. The din of chatter from far ahead heralded their arrival. It boosted the ashen troll's joy. Motioning with a hand to hurry, Milieu kicked the pace up, jogging now.

The rebel room was filled with people. Milieu felt her heart swell with pride. Looking around, she spotted her group. Milieu motioned again for Ephias to follow and bee lined to the scouts. As soon as she was close, she wrapped Vremea in a tight, warm hug. Odette came next and finally Athene, each getting an equally tight hug. By the time she was hugged out, Milieu realized that there was someone new.

Taking out her whiteboard from her side satchel, she popped the cap and wrote out a message to both the scouts and the Aerona, | Sorry I'm late! I wanted to be sure Ephias was ready. It's good to see you all. Also, dear, nice to meet you! I'm Milieu Aojiro, friend of Odette, Vremea, and Athene. You were around our booth at bloodfest, yes? I was rather busy so you'll have to forgive me for only briefly remembering you. |

"Do I?" Luxara stood up straighter, pushing off from the wall and putting her hands on her hips. She sized the tealblood up. Then, after a moment, placed a foot on one of his boots, then the other, using that as leverage for a few more inches of height. "How's that?"

Her attention was soon split again though, first because of the banter she could hear between Maneki and Forera, then Forera coming on over. Luxara hopped off of Anguis to give her friend a hug. "Hey, what can I say, I have a quota I gotta meet and it's not gonna happen in the forest. Who can I talk to there besides my lusus?" She squeezed then stepped back. "I see you're making new friends though. Who's the squirt? He seems like a cutie."

But before she could mention other observations regarding Maneki and the adults around him, a familiar voice called out. Out of the corner of her eye, Luxara caught a masked orangeblood coming over. "Ets! Hey! I didn't know you joined up. This is like another Tunnel Snakes reunion. Well. Without Vul." She looked Forera's way. "Issss Vul coming? Or are his heels not very sand-friendly? I mean if he's not gonna be here, guess An can fill his spot for now." This was great! Weird how they kept being drawn back together.

"So, Ets, how've you been since Bloodfest? And check out For's twin! He's gotten huge!" She gave his arm a nice slap. "He's like all the height and muscle For didn't get!"

For a moment, the sudden closeness of Luxara caught him by surprise and a very faint blush rose to his cheeks. It faded quickly though as he shot back, "Eh, a solid fifty percent now. Maybe fifty five, since you are borrowing my height." The grin on his face was wide though and he wasn't shocked when she jumped down to greet his sister, whom he did restrain himself from making a face at.

"I do not know it, thank you, obviously I have the ability to make friends," He huffed at his sister, even if what she said was true. He had to protect his dignity at the least, even if it was kind of sad that she was able to attack it so well. "Also I don't have a caterpillar on my face." He grumbled, a worrying hand coming up to touch at his mustache before dropping back down. It would grow out more soon and then he'd have a glorious beard and Forera wouldn't be able to say anything. Probably.

He was content to just let Forera and Luxara talk though, at least if it wasn't at the expense of him or his mustache. The arrival of the orangeblood set him on edge though and he only nodded at her friendly greeting, barely managing to gather that she went by Est with Luxara. The way Luxara talked to her though made him a little less on edge, even if she had shifted closer to the girls he did know. The slap on his arm caught him by surprise though and he made a strangled sound before trying to pass it off as a cough. "Can't let Forera have everything good," He shrugged, giving up his suspicion for a minute to get a jab in at Forera. Always worth it.

"Yo, no problem," exclaimed Aerona. "Nice handwriting! Real nice." This whole shindig felt more like a tea party than a rebel meeting. Even Milieu (who Aerona had only vaguely remembered from Bloodfest) was speaking - er, writing - in formal speech. She felt a touch out of place. Aerona wasn't quite sure to say with all of the pleasantries being thrown around. It was surface-level stuff, party fare. The entirety of the rebellion had struck Aerona as odd. Half of the group was a dangerous looking array of highbloods (teal and up, including the leader and her charge), some of which were either "strange" or "trouble". The other half was a well-to-do crew up and down the hemospectrum with high-class tendencies, who seemed more likely to don lace and a parasol than sword and shield.

How were these trolls expecting to change Alternia, again?

At the very least, Milieu had brought to her a kid who looked like he knew how to have a good time. The redblood in front of her had an acceptable number of chains, netting and straps, and she shot him a grin immediately. He was also damn cute, like a fluffy woolbeast.

"Sup, Chains?" Aerona bleated. She turned to the scouts and gave them a handwave. "If you ladies want to catch up we can wander around some, eh? Meet you back here?"

Firstly...
Path 1.1
After making sure you were still in the army's databanks, you were rewarded with a prompt drone delivery at your hive. A thick card with the date, time, and location of where your physical would take place was thrust towards you, and you were left at your doorstep as the drone continued on it's rounds. Reading over the card, it seemed that, regardless of your own physical location, you would be required to trek out to Chittentown's main military base, number 3865. The benefits of medical care, as always, outweighing any difficult travel, you set out on the date mentioned.

Path 1.2
Whether you immediately put your short visit to the recruitment fare out of your mind, or counted down the days till you could return, on the morning of the date given to you by the drone, a large military shuttle landed on whatever you had for a lawnring, and the same prissy drone from your visit climbed down. It soon became apparent that while signing up for the trip was 'optional', going on it was not. Bundled into the large vehicle, your lusus was also given the option of climbing aboard, sitting on the top with the oversized parents who could not be shoved inside, or flying/running/rolling along beside.

...after that...
Path 1
However you came to arrive, and for whatever reason, you soon found yourself milling around the large parade grounds of Military Base 3865. Around you were trolls of all ages, some clearly soldiers while other leaning towards civilian gear. Most were lined up outside makeshift medical tents, waiting for their turn in line, a few with visible stumps who had clearly come to receive military grade replacements for missing limbs, others simply there for a check up. However a small but visible section of the grounds held younger trolls, being shepherded around towards a free buffet and chairs lined up in ront of a podium, clearly there for some sort of small event. The entire area was comfortable with a controlled chaos and low level hubbub.

After waiting your turn for whatever it was you came for, be it food, information, or medical care, you couldn't help but notice a sudden silence in the crowd, expanding slowly from one of the entrances into the main base itself. Turning, you could see a short seadweller, one hand on a hip, the other in the air, gathering attention simply by standing with it raised silently. It was a little hard to see their symbol from here, but it looked suspiciously like that of the queen, easily identifiable in itself, stamped as it was on every royally approved sign and placard on the planet. Behind, lounging in the shadows of the door itself was a taller figure, arms crossed, covered in a grey cowl, hood drawn over it's face. It seemed to be watching, and waiting.

As the remaining chatter in the courtyard drew to a close, and trolls began to peer out of the medical tents, the seadweller dropped their hand with a satisfied nod. "Yo!" The voice of the troll that you were almost certain was the queen was raised slightly, but the echo of the dusty canyon and base's walls meant she didn't have to strain to be heard. "Friends! Alternians! Countrytrolls. Lend me your fists! We've got a nest of gerbils that needs exterminating - yeah, right in our very midst. These are the same trolls who tried to halt progress in the construction of Civisect through violence and destruction, the same dudes who broke into one of your own facilities here, causing millions of beetles of damage to this great, awesome, dusty city. These are the same trolls who, lack of evidence notwithstanding, we are pretty dang sure collaborated with the jadeblood who tried to literally destroy pretty much everything! With the plants! You know, the-" glancing around, she realized that not all her audience was exactly following her at this point. "- ahh forget it."

Waving a dismissive hand at the trolls in the crowd who's expressions were still blank or clouded with confusion, she gave a toss of her hair and continued on, getting to the point of her sudden appearance. "Basically, we got word right now where they are, all of them. And they ain't gonna be there forever. So I need troupes right now, right here, to take a stand and squash these trolls right now. You do well? You get what you deserve, and maybe a little more." A wink and a smile promised rewards aplenty to the more imaginative trolls in the crowd, while the pessimists might wonder what you would get if you didn't live up to the queen's expectations. "You a little wiggler with your momma in tow? If you can get rid of these pests for me - and for everyone - then I don't care how many sweeps old you are. I want volunteers here, and now, to make a name for themselves and impress me." Her eyes gleamed, and she snapped the fingers of the hand not resting on her hip, pointing to the ground in front of her. "Line up, give your name, follow the orders of my friend here. If you do good, this will be the start of your new life."

...and finally.
Path 1
Uncrossing their arms, the figure stepped out from the shadows. Giving a curt nod to the seadweller as they passed, they turned their attention to the crowd. For a moment, they merely stood there, silently appraising. There was something that seemed almost contemptuous in the way they regarded the audience. That something was confirmed when they gave a derisive snort.

Clearing their throat, the figure spoke, “First off, a few ground rules. Out in the field, you follow my instructions to the letter, no questions asked.
