Had Nadia made a face, when he'd said that? - had he imagined that?
"Okay, okay... " he chuckled, nervously, but tried to fight back the nerves and self-consciousness that badly wanted to devour his words. "I'm just - I'm still me, under Mont Blonc - and even if I'm not a great knight yet, I - I'm still sort of a knight all the time, right?"
He could at least meet her gaze as he said it, but it was hard. Looking away wasn't just a force of habit, it was a habit of comfort. It was easier to say and do when you weren't staring the person in their eyes and seeing what they thought and felt up close. It was terrifying, even when what he saw there was good. "So... t-then I choose to be your knight. As me, I mean."

She found him to be absolutely adorable. No matter how he was, no matter how he spoke. "You are a fantastic knight." She asserted.
and then he confessed and she was just...staring in a blank look. Like ice cold water rushed over her and she was.
He was confessing something to her, and she was trying to comprehend.
"M....me?" She whispered, and then something so rare happened, that she couldn't even comprehend what to do. She held her cheeks, which were burning into a brilliantly bright red that Lorne would've been proud. And she was stuttering over her words, and was just looking at him and she couldn't help what she did next.
"You want to be with me? fo...for me?" She stuttered again. "Oh."

'Fantastic' was an overstatement, but he let it stand for now - he had more important things to address.
The blank look on her face terrified him even more, because it could either mean something great or something absolutely terrible - but then, then she did something he never could have expected. His eyes widened when she clutched her cheeks, realizing that they were burning an amazing, brilliant shade of crimson. Sure, Lorne had made her blush once or twice, but - it'd been little touches of pink, never anything like this. She, usually so confident with her teasing, sweet words, was stumbling.
Then, she asked that. Even if he was still a little red himself, Lorne gave a puzzled smile and tilted his head to a side. "Well... yes? Of course for you. Why else would I want to be with you?" he asked softly, leaning in to kiss her flushed-warmed forehead, absolutely charmed and endeared by this side of her.

"I just..." She laughed a little, letting him go. "You know, cause...I...I don't know." She stuttered for a little bit. "I'm just use to you know....um.." She held her hands up.
"Not...serious..." She hadn't even slept with Lorne yet, and she wondered if that was bad? She was comfortable with all the others she slept with, and didn't think of it as odd. But she thought about it with Lorne and she wanted it to be special and she had never felt that way before.
She had never thought sex with someone could be special, so special she would be afraid of it. And she ran her hand through her hair and just...
"I'm not..use to being serious with someone. Or even...I like you. I like you so much." she just, "I...Am I good enough for this? for you?" She didn't even know what she was saying. "Like...to be a girlfriend...or you know..I don't know. I've really never done this sort of thing before."

Stuttering was something that had always annoyed Lorne about himself. It was one more obstacle that kept him from expressing himself, and he could always feel the impatience from people around him as he tripped over his words again and again. - no, not always. But he'd seen it enough that it was easy to project it on even the most patient friends.
From her, though? It wasn't the least bit annoying. Sweet, yes. Cute, absolutely. Very much endearing, really.
Lorne knew nothing about her history with any other partners, like how many or how long, and he didn't think he had to. Unless she thought it mattered, all he cared about was just -- just being around her, being whatever it is they were. He wasn't rushing to put a label on it. The only thing they'd ever really openly said was that this was more than something physical, and he was happy with that. He didn't want to push her, corner her -- happiness was enough.
Then she kept talking, and his eyes widened. She'd said not one, but two mind-blowing things to him in the span of seconds, and he nearly swayed as his stomach flipped.
'She said girlfriend.'
"Nadia, Nadia, " he breathed out, leaning down to her level and resting one hand on her shoulder, the other tucking an index finger under her chin to make sure she would see him. He was still blushing, and he had plenty of reason to. But his smile was warm and inviting. "Of - of course you're good enough. You're more than good enough, " he said softly, seriously, trying to ignore how hard his heart was beating.
He chuckled quietly, trying to release his nerves -- a lot of them, because he understood her. They were so different, but he knew those feelings of doubt so well. "I never knew you -- I feel the same way, you know? Worrying if I'm good enough. The last time I - I tried to be with someone - I never felt like I was. And in the end, I wasn't. That was a really... it was a bad feeling."
Lorne's smile said before any words could that it didn't bother him anymore, how it'd ended with his last boyfriend. It wasn't that he didn't still think of him sometimes, but it wasn't like how it used to be. "I still worry, all the time. But when -- when we're together like this, and I'm with you -- you make me feel good enough Nadia. I mean, the way I am -- you're not trying to fix me or make me something I'm -- "
Stumbling, he was stumbling. He swallowed hard, took a deep breath, and pushed on. Nadia had said so many wonderful things about him, been so amazing for him. It was past time he returned the favor. "No one's ever said or done the things you've done for me. Ever. That's just a fact." He gave an almost helpless smile.
"I've never smiled so much, laughed so much, I -- you push me, but it's in a good way. A way I like. A-and you're funny, and you're fun, and you're beautiful, and talent, and brilliant, and -- you're so much more than just good enough for me. -- there's no one I'd rather have for a girlfriend, " and he stumbled over the word a little because he was still blown away that it had ever come up, that she'd even considered it. "In this or any world. A-and it's okay if you don't know, because I don't either, and -- and it's scary, but -- I love it because it's you."

Nadia brushed his hair, clung to him. He was telling her it was okay, that it was, in a sense, perfect. Because he wanted her, without even sleeping with her, without even...
How did she describe them? She couldn't. Hard to put a label on something she never had before. And then he was sweetening words and she couldn't help but just stare up at him.
AND it wasn't like he was asking her to marry him or anything. She didn't even know what being his girlfriend meant to him. But she was willing to learn, willing to see.
Because it was Lorne.
"I feel the same..." She finally calmed down, reverting to her lazy smirk. "And you know all the reasons why I feel the same about you. can't tell you how many times..." She reached up and brought his head down to hers, resting her forehead against his.
"We should do this thing. It'll be fun." She laughed, "Do you wanna come home with me? Watch some movies, eat lots of food?" She laughed, "We can watch horror movies to better prepare you for the next visit to your wonder!"

To hear she felt the same was him as like - it was basically the most perfect thing he could have asked for.
'Do this thing?'
"N-nadia - D-do you mean b-by the... the thing that I get to be your... ?" His words got runny again, but it was as much out of cautious excitement as it was nerves. It was a stupid question, and he knew it was, but this was a mind-blowing thing that had just happened - probably happened? He didn't want to be misreading the whole thing and cornering her. But. Had that actually happened? What other thing could she possibly mean?
"No pressure, " he added quickly, and the closeness of her face urged him to keep meeting her gaze. "I-it wouldn't change anything, I - " Was he allowed to call her that? - His girlfriend? His heart leapt at the thought, even if he wanted to stay cool and supportive about it. Was it really okay?

"You're my boyfriend." Nadia rose an eyebrow.
"So I'm your girlfriend and well, aren't we a pair now?" She giggled. "Come on Handsome, let's go on our first date. As a couple." She winked, pulling him towards her loft. She would adore him and love him with kisses.

"W-we are... " Lorne echoed, disbelief still written clear across his face for a few more seconds. Then, he finally allowed the pure, unbridled excitement to take over.
"Yes - yes, let's go!"
Nadia was his girlfriend. Nadia was his girlfriend. He had a girlfriend, and it was Nadia! He was laughing, all fear long since forgotten, his eyes bright with joy as they headed back to her loft for an amazing night of terrifying movies and each other.
