Henry Wednesday"I'll admit, it's different... Not something you expect to wake up to. Anyways, you said something about a physical earlier... The sooner I can go the better, it seems I have a whole new world to explore."Wednesday said, checking his empty pack of cigarettes on the off chance there were still some left. He was still disappointed to find there were none left.

“We’ll get to the physical when your digestion is appropriate. From there onward, I’ll likely have to meet with the board and discuss what it’ll take to get you reinstated into society. I know uncertainty can be a burden, so I’ll explain a few things. I’d imagine you’ll have to take on a new identity. I don’t necessarily mean your name alone, but your background history. Naturally, there’ll be complications if you go around claiming you’re a centuries old male who was thawed from a cryogenic chamber and revived.” He was an investigator, after all; that ought to have made sense. If he went around saying that sort of thing, he’d find himself quickly relocated to a mental institution. “It’s a lot to process, so please be patient with me. It’s a whole new world, and there’s obstacles just to let you see it.”

Henry Wednesday"Of course, I'm sure a new identity won't be a problem."Wednesday said with a smile. Of course, this smile was primarily for show, but also emerged because after 7 years working in intelligence, a new identity would be easy. The only issue would be retrieving any files of his new life. "So, it's been awhile since I've eaten, I doubt digestion is a problem any longer."

He was smiling to the point that it simply seemed ingenuine. It wasn’t so much the appearance if his smiles, but when he chose to smile; it felt forced. He also seemed eager to get through with examinations, likely because he'd be out faster if they were through. “How long since you’ve eaten before your recent meal plays no part on your current physical aptitude. It isn’t a good idea to work out unless two or three hours have passed. Until then, patience is a virtue.” He'd only known the cold for the last several years, so the sun would serve him well. She turned to the glass dome over them, and proceeded to walk to the nearest wall. It was very thick glass, so she was safe to look on at the beautiful city. She could’ve thrown questions at him, but she didn’t. Val would simply wait, either to the point when he’d be straightforward with her, or until he wasn’t as evasive. It wasn’t that hard to tell; he initially lied about his identity, so his capacity for honest reply was questionable at best. It was a shame only one of them was doing their utmost to assist the other. From food to freedom, she’d tried, despite little promise in return.

Henry Wednesday"I suppose that's fair enough."Wednesday said, as a new thought came into his head. If governments still existed, then so did the agencies working for them. If he could make any employees in the facility curious about who he really was, then the mention of an alias, or in a pinch his actual name, at a records center was certain to have someone, even 200 years after his blacklisting, making calls. It didn't matter how powerful Genesis was, there was at least a slim chance he'd have modern agents at their doorstep within hours, maybe minutes. This was a long shot though, and he'd have to find someone willing to take the bait. For now, he'd play along, but if things went south, it would be his only exit strategy.

Seeing as the subject had an hour or two to himself, the matter was simply to wait for his physical exam. In order to pass the time, she began talking to one of the scientists spraying a bush, nothing particularly worth hearing, just the condition of some spores and a series of complicated scientific terms he wouldn’t understand.
It was a very quiet compound, people minding their own business, only speaking when spoken to, attending to the sciences they were assigned to. Genesis didn’t employ people to socialize; professionalism and obedience was a must. In fact, Val seemed to be the only one who’d really spoken much.

Henry WednesdayWednesday was carefully watching the area, all employees close to him, and all the plants near him. Every once in awhile he walk to a different area of the garden, but it was rare. He'd never seen anything like these plants, he'd only wished he could study them himself. Of course, he was no scientist, but a burned spy living 200 years after his own time period. Quote: We might as well skip to the exam.

At some point or another the doctor had disappeared, likely to deal with her usual research, though she returned about an hour and a half since they finished their last conversation. “I’ll lead you to the room for your exam. I took the liberty of getting you some temporary workout clothes so you don’t sweat in your current attire.” In her hands were the clothes she was talking about, folded neatly. It was an entirely black carbon fiber set, including a sleeveless top, jogging pants, and shoes, a sleek design with a grid design. It did look comfortable, at least. “Yes, there’ll be a changing room.” She didn’t receive a high education on his fashion sense, so it was the best she could do within that span of time. If he were going to sweat a bunch, he may as well have not been thinking how atrocious his clothes were, so the solution was simply to select something that the current population considered appealing enough.

Henry WednesdayWednesday nodded, and followed the doctor to the changing room. The clothes weren't great, but their only purpose was to be exercised in after all. Once inside the changing room, he briefly checked the clothing for any wires, and once they were clear, he changed into them. He folded up his clothes, and walked back out. "Alright, so what exactly would you like me to do for this physical examination."

“It’s basic fitness, nothing out of the ordinary. It’s to make sure the cryogenics haven’t affected your ability to function in more physically taxing conditions.” Thus far, he’d shown himself to be relatively capable of basic tasks. It’d be silly to release him if, for whatever reason, he spontaneously collapsed. They were intelligent yes, but they couldn’t leave it all to hypothesis. They couldn’t just assume he’d function at higher levels when he was unconscious, so now that he was awake, they could. With that said, she escorted him into a room with a grid pattern all around. It seemed wide, and the floor looked as if it could move. “It’s a room where you’ll be put through a simulation. You’ll find multiple scenarios where you’ll traverse obstacles, and when they’re through, so is the exam.”

Henry WednesdayWednesday was impressed. He'd never even imagined such a room could exist. He wasn't worried about this test though, especially since his entrance into the agency was stealing a classified document from a foreign embassy, ending in slight property damage, and three impressively injured embassy security guards. Wednesday sighed, stretched a little, and got into position. "Alright Doc, let's get started."

“Good luck,” she said, turning around and exiting the room, the door closing in behind her. Now, the hexagonal grid pattern served a purpose, each one capable of projecting a a holographic image.
He hadn’t heard the last of Val’s voice, as it was heard from an undisclosed location throughout the entire simulation room. “Remember, so long as you’re in that room, nothing you see is truly say real. However, things can physically harm you; that is quite real.” After a brief pause, she spoke again, “Let’s begin with a few survival scenarios…” From all around, the little hexagons began to turn to portions of the simulation, and before he knew it, he was in the middle of a shaky bridge about twenty meters long, and thirty meters above the ground below, featuring unpleasant waters and sharp rocks. Also, the bridge looked unstable, some of the planks missing, the ropes on the side looking as if they were about to break. If he touched the rope, it would look and feel real, as well as walking on the bridge. It was windy, and the bridge began to shake. Common sense implied that his objective was to make it to one of two sides of the bridge. At least, however, before he’d spot a male on one side wielding a large knife, beginning to cut the ropes entirely.

Henry WednesdayWednesday's training kicked in, you could tell by the look in his eyes. It was a shorter distance to the side with the man, although more dangerous. He didn't want to make her suspect anything different than what he'd told her, but he knew his agency training was necessary. "Let's get started..."He started running, gaining speed at a rate unusual for a civilian. By the time he reached the man, the rope was barely held together. He shoved the man to the ground away from the bridge, and crossed as it shook violently. The man came after him of course, but instead of hearing his old instructor, he heard his own voice in his head. ~There are two important steps to winning a knife fight when unarmed: Control the knife arm, and get as many hits in as possible.~He grabbed the knife arm, and moved it to the man's chest. This was followed by three knees to the man's groin, before Wednesday snapped the man's knife wrist, and threw him onto the bridge. The force of the man landing on the bridge broke the rope, and both the bridge and the man fell to the virtual water below. "Next..." Wednesday said confidently.

Since he succeeded through the first part, the room would change to a different location entirely. Instead of the bridge, he was at the bottom of some rocky ravine, the skies above red and stormy, even lightning. It looked far less pleasant than the bridge, not to mention the fact that the winds were strong. If that wasn’t bad enough, it began to rain, though the challenge hadn’t come yet. Fortunately the ravine wasn’t very deep, only twenty feet deep. Aside from the lightning, it was suspiciously quiet, though not for long. Something emerged twelve meters behind him, some sort of alien hound.
