"Five movies, icin' bread," he repeated, helping her up onto his back. "Hup! Got it." He didn't mind whatsoever carrying her as he moved about; at least as an intermediate trainee, it was easier to than before. "I'll put all the flavors on it, too, how's that sound?" Procuring two slices of bread, he started grabbing icing flavors at random and half-stacked, half-mixed them together. "How 'bout drinks? Water, soda, coffee? N' how you feel about addin' whipped cream?" Why not go all the way with this, right?

"Gimme a booze. A pink frou frou one," she demanded cheerfully, chin on his shoulder. "And hells yeah, whipped cream. I like whipped cream," and this statement was made with the same intensity as she had when going over the specifics of a dangerous mission. There was a small runic'd projector they usually watched movies with, along with a couple USB's full of movies, each helpfully titled things like: Didn't read the book and Boys suck and Gonna totally sing along with it.

He stepped back and admired the Many Flavored Cake-Bread slices he'd concocted just for them and...hoped it didn't taste so bad...At least they looked presentable?
"Thought so," he said with an equally serious nod back. Opening the fridge, Dawson grabbed the booze with one hand and the whipped cream with the other. The latter immediately was lifted up to America's face with a little wiggle.
If he knew anything at all, it was that very few people missed the opportunity for a mouth full of whipped cream.
"You got any cherries in here, I'll add 'em in too."

"Mmmmmmmm..." she hummed in his ear, "...yeah, gimme those too. Bottom shelf, little clear bag of them." She wiggled back and forth, signing a happy little nonsense song under her breath as she admired his handiwork. "You're like...a ********> artist, get it in me, hun!"

Well, at least now she was talking about food this time. He still had to clear his throat with an awkward smile anyway. Thanking Chris for forcing him through Leg Day, Dawson crouched and eventually found the bag of cherries where she'd indicated. With a grunt he got back up with his prizes and finished off the would-be cakes with a flourish. He was actually a little proud of the meal now, however unconventional it was. "Aight, one slice a'every flavor cake for Miss America!" he said with a more enthusiastic smile, folding the slice of bread like a taco shell before offering it up to her. "Enjoy."

She opened her mouth obligingly.

That sucker got (awkwardly) stuffed with in. She could take it right? (Dear God, Maebe's and Horace's influences were sending his mind to the gutter anyway, damn them.)
"S'it taste alright? Tell me it's good," Dawson pleaded as he moved them out of the kitchen and to a more comfortable space to watch their movie marathon, grabbing the bottle of booze along the way. He didn't bother with glasses; they could just pass it between them.

She took it all making greedily enthusiastic sounds as she chewed, frosting mustache grazing his cheek. "It's the best kinda cake I've ever had," she announced firmly, swallowing down the last of it. The clinginess wold remain a constant throughout the night, America in a near constant need for contact and getting sullen and doubling her demands if he so much as had to get up and go to the bathroom or, in at least one case, not follow her when she needed the same. "I want to watch a cry baby movie, I want to cry some more so I can cry about something else," America stated firmly.

"Yeah?" He grinned and smeared some icing off with his finger to suck off. With a hum of satisfaction, he said, "Good."
Clinginess was practically a gift. Anyone who knew Dawson for longer than an hour knew he was a touchy-feely man, and he was unashamed to indulge the instinct to cuddle and hold and cradle and follow after her, somehow paternal and childish all at once. These needs were exactly what called to him, more than fighting ever would. Every whine, every despondent face, and every demand was met with a silent and eager servitude.
"Happy cry or sad cry?" he asked, realizing he wasn't too familiar with America's movie selection.

"The ugly boogery sort," America stated clearly even as she got up, giving him a moment of breathing room, only to smoosh herself into the space between him and the arm of the couch. "Gonna get snot all over your shirt." It would join the whipped cream and jostled beer splooshes.

Dawson made sure she barely could budge by scooting in. "Y'all got Toy Story 3?" he asked. "That s**t made me bawl at the end. Or Up, the one about the old guy? Holy crap, the beginnin'..." Most of the movies he ended up throwing out there were indicative of his time spent babysitting the kids in his family, though Awakenings, A Walk to Remember, Hotel Rwanda, and Life is Beautiful also made the cut. And then, "How you feelin' right now, though?"
