Fi couldn't help but have a smile on her face. She was truly happy, and she honestly thought all the faun and fauny should know. But then, it also felt like they were sneaking out like they were teenagers trying not to get caught by their parents.
"Th-the dark?" She had almost giggled, trying not to sound nervous. Fi was, in fact, terrified of the dark. At least, she was terrified when she was alone. But Kai was with her, so he would keep her safe right?

They were definitely going up, but where exactly he wasn't sure. He glanced over his shoulder to Fi, smiling through his dark green bangs. "If you are, that's okay. I wouldn't let anything get you." He wouldn't let anything hurt any faun if he had anything to say about it. Especially not Fi.

Fi squeaked, clinging to Kai's arm. She wasn't thrilled about the idea of the dark, but they couldn't see the stars if it was light out. That was just silly!
"You're so sweet Kai~" Phiona cooed, looking up at him adoringly. "You'll always keep us safe won't you?"

He nodded confidently at her question, a pleasant warmth spreading in his chest at her clinging to him. "Always. I've dedicated my life to it." With a warm smile, he looked forward to turn around the bend. It revealed that just ahead the ceiling fell away to darkness above. "Hey, I think I see where we can get into the branches!" His voice perked up in excitement as his tail gave a happy flick.

She grinned, nodding as if she was agreeing with him. She'd no idea if he was telling the truth or not, but she'd guess he would. He didn't have a reason to lie to her. At least not one she'd know of.
"Oh my gosh! Did we really get up here that easy?" Fi squealed, thrilled at the idea. She always thought that it took longer to get to the upper branches than a quick walk from her room

OOC: SHHHHH! They've been walking for over 4 months, with the power of ME I declare them there! rofl BIC: It did seem like a quick walk, but perhaps time just flew by when he was with Fi? "We're not out of the woods yet. Still have to climb the branches. In the dark." He teased slightly, silver eyes flicking over to her. She was so beautiful when she smiled. "Are you a good tree climber?"

She squeaked. There was that dark thing again! "I think I'm gonna fall!" Fi was panicking. Ruby eyes wide with fright. There was no way she was going to be able to climb like that in the dark. It was crazy! There had to be tons of places they could see the stars that didn't mean climbing in the dark. Weren't there? Ohhhhh, by Rais' fluffy tail she had no idea.
"You'll keep us safe right?" Fi looked up at him, timid. Great Earth she didn't want to think about what would happen if he didn't.Tartara Seabreeze Sure sure XD Now to get an orange faunness over her fear of the dark

At her sudden panic, his eyebrows twitched up in surprise. He was only teasing a little bit, not realizing that she was really that scared. Kaiden brought them to a stop to pull her into a hug. "No, there's no way I'll let you fall! I'll go first every step to pick out the safe ones, and always offer a hand to help you across. Does that sound alright?"

She bit her lip, thinking about it. Slowly, Fi nodded. That sounded like he'd be making sure she wouldn't fall in the dark. "What happens if you fall?" The question was out of her mouth before she could even think about it. Would she be quick enough to catch him if something happened?
"Maybe we should stick to the paths, I'm sure they branch enough to lead us to a good spot for star viewing..."

He paused for a moment. Well. He hadn't thought of that. "I'll just have to be sure not to fall." He spoke rather confidently. But truth was there wasn't a real way to be sure of that. He didn't have wings.
"Perhaps. But we'd need to get high in order to see the stars with how many branches there are...If you're not feeling up to it Fi, we could always just look out the window together." He was up and willing to traverse the potentially dangerous branches, but Fi looked rather unsure of herself. And didn't seem all too confident of him to boot.

It wasn't that Fi wasn't confident in him, it was more along the lines of not being sure of herself if something happened to him. She shook her head, steeling herself for anything that might happen. Kai would take good care of her. He hadn't given her a reason to doubt that. "Why don't we go venture out onto the branches?" She squeaked. Heights weren't a huge deal. In the daytime. But it was night, and dark. Everything seemed so much higher up and way more scary.
"You'll keep us safe. Everything's alright." The faunness mustered a smile, really wanting to go watch the stars with him but not wanting to back out and feel like a chicken. Why didn't she remember how scary the dark was?!

The green faun watched Fi's face, thinking on it. She obviously was putting on a brave face for this. How could he disappoint her? A part of him didn't want to put her through the anxiety, but he wasn't going to discourage her bravery. "...Alright." He spoke reluctantly, pulling away to continue walking. "We'll try it. If you feel though at any point unsafe, we'll turn right around and try something else."

Fi tried not to squirm as Kaiden pulled away. He needed his hands free to make sure he was on the right path to strong steady branches that weren't dangling hundreds of feet in the air. She gulped, nodding. "If you're sure you're okay with that..." She didn't want him to have a bad night because she was afraid.
"M-maybe we could... Talk about something e-else?" Phiona suggested, looking at his horns. Anything but where they'd be stepping in just a few minutes. It was dark out and they were really high in the air. Gulp.

Wasn't like he was exactly 'okay' with it...but she requested to change the topic. Another step, and the ceiling fell away into darkness. After blinking a few times to adjust his eyes, he continued along on the thick branch they were situated on. "Uh...well...did you know...I have a pet rabbit? Unusual for a hunter I know, but when I caught him he was far too small to eat and my trap had hurt him. So I took him in."

"Really? A rabbit?" Fi bit her lip, trying not to laugh. A hunter with a prey as a pet! It was enough to keep her from thinking about where they were walking.
"What did you name him? Sir Booplesnoot?"
