When Chance exited from the labyrinth, Claude was already there, again. Waiting. Her arms were crossed as she stared at the moat looking less than impressed. "Round two?" She asked, to see if he was ready to go.

He just gave her a Look and kept walking.
Straight into a spider that, unfortunately for Chance, nipped at his ankle before he crushed it beneath one of his shoes.

Another ghost of a smirk tugged at her lips as she followed after him, but she didn't get too far. Apparently the shadow wanted to go another round. Claude let out a short hiss before she was swarmed again, and fought it off once more. Damn. That ******** took a good chunk of her shield too. Quote: 9: -50% of your remaining HP. It was a touching moment, actually, especially with how the past several weeks had been. "It's not like I---" But then Claude went horizontal, as Chance had her by the arm and then a crocodile had her by the leg. Well then. She let out another hiss, and ended up dragging Chance back a bit as she fought to smash her other boot into its snout to get it off of her. She then leveled a flat stare at Chance. "I can't help myself." She deadpanned. Quote: 7: - 50% of your remaining HP. A crocodile has bitten you, and attempts to drag you under.

He wanted to stay angry at her. He really did.
But he couldn't help the tiny, almost imperceptible smile that tugged at his lips at their predicament, and Chance let go of Claude's arm and turned away, his head shaking from side to side, bow held loosely within the fingers of his other hand.
"What the ******** am I going to do with you," he said, but it didn't carry nearly as much as heat as it had before.

"Hell if I know." She sighed with relief. Relief they had cleared the moat with no more strange and dangerous incidents. Once he let her go, she made sure her footing was secure before following him. She took to observing their environment once more, rather intrigued by the Hall they were in. Such a shame it was overgrown and...filled with dangerous s**t.

He just wanted to get in and out without too much hassle, but he could see the boxes ahead, the plinths they all sat on. The two of them had made it this far, at the very least, and with a minimum of squabbling to boot.
Well. Mostly.
"Well," said Chance, taking a breath. He pushed his hair out of his eyes with bruised fingers. "Here goes nothing."
And with his shoulders set, he approached one of the cases.
It was, unfortunately, the wrong case. Chance's swearing could probably be heard in Timbuktu at this rate.

Chance was swearing up and down, and Claude was just looking at the case impassively. Well...in hindsight it would have been far too easy if Chance had gotten the one he wanted now. It was going to be a very long mission indeed, and now Chance tromping was the least of it it. This made her think of that Mario game meme... Sorry Chance, but your artifact was in another Hall. "Let's get to it." She murmured, turning away to start this process all over again.

Approximately two hours later, Chance and Claude had returned to the exact same spot they'd been in before. He was wearing a somewhat disgruntled expression, unhappy that he'd have to try again, but since there was no helping it, he decided it was too much effort to remain unpleasant the entire time.
"All right, all right," said Chance with a sigh. "Take...three, I think. Or two. The first round didn't count."

They didn't need to look for the door again, thankfully, but the beast of the garden was certainly going to be skulking about now that it had had time to recover.
"Take precautions," Chance murmured, drawing an arrow in his bow, just in case.

"It all counts." Claude followed Chance's lead, and summoned her weapon as well. She peered cautiously around a hedge, but it seemed, this time around, they wouldn't be running into the beast. That was incredibly fortunate.
