The pizza has been the target, but it was apparently being guarded by the goon squad.
Matthew had completely ignored the losers hanging about, until something came flying at him and he jerked to sidestep it. His face darkened as he looked up to find the source... a boy around his age with brown, curly hair. There was an immediate, intense dislike of him.
Cool off? Really? ******** that s**t. Everything about this boy read 'bully' loud and clear... from the stupid comment to the way he pandered to his friends. It was funny to pick on the kids who were different, wasn't it? Matthew missed his friends in that moment. With his buddies behind him, he would have looked far less like a target and thus would not have had to deal with some p***k's bullshit... but that didn't mean he was going to just roll over and take it.
The teen swatted aside the pieces that followed, sending them flying off to the side to skitter across the floor... and probably into some hapless person's path. Steel toed boots hit the wood floor hard as he stomped up to the other boy, getting aggressively up into his personal space.
"Do you have a problem with how I look, a*****e?" He snapped. ******** this place. ******** this dance, ******** letting his sister talk him into it, and especially ******** this dude. Sure, he and his friends would probably mop the floor with him, but not before Matthew got in a few good swings himself... and if he could get them outside? He might have a little surprise for them all AND fill some of his quota at the same time.

Ciel quickly drank her punch and set her cup down. She was about to try to tell the brown haired boy he should stop throwing ice cube when his target, an angry looking boy with black and neon green hair, stomped over. "Oh no." She said softly to herself. She wanted to stop this obvious fight in progress before anyone got thrown out.
"Guys come on, lets not fight. This supposed to be a dance, everyone should be having fun not getting mad at each other. I'm sorry he threw ice at you." She said to the black and green haired boy. She had stepped in between them.
"I'm sure he didn't mean any offense though. Just a joke taken to far, right?" She said hopefully looking at the first boy.
"Come on this is a good song, lets go dance and just forget this happened." She said with a smile hoping to at least pull one of them away before it got ugly.

Lovely could honestly say he was flabbergasted when Ilian began throwing ice at another person—an odd looking person in Lovely's opinion, but Ilian was supposed to be the sociable one, not the one who turned people against them (that was Lovely's job). When too many pieces of ice had been thrown, Lovely grabbed at Ilian's wrist and forced his hand down.
“You heathen,” he hissed at him. “Are you trying to start a fight?”
He could only blame the Negaverse. All that power over people was probably going to Ilian's head.
Then again, Ilian was rather impulsive. Perhaps he simply hadn't thought his actions through.
Unfortunately, a fight seemed to be exactly what was going to happen as the boy with the neon green tips stomped his way over in some rather impressive boots. Lovely winced. He would rather not be associated with Ilian in that moment. Fights outside of uniform weren't his style. His clothes might be ruined.
“Let's not be rash,” Lovely tried to intervene. “I apologize for my friend's uncouth actions. He spent most of his childhood in foster care. Clearly he wasn't taught appropriate social skills. Let's listen to this nice young girl and dance. That is, after all, what this event is for.”

The second the other boy stopped in his tracks, Ilian's eyes lit up in amusement and a grin crossed his face. Oh, so this guy obviously didn't like being there and was too keyed up to have any sense of humor. It was t as though he'd thrown the ice with the intention of hurting him. His aim wasn't all that great either. But the closer the other teen stomped towards him, the wider his grin grew.
There was a moment where he was confused about the boy's comment, and Ilian let out a small laugh, clearly loving the overreaction. "Not at all. Why, are you uncomfortable about how you look? Do people make fun of you? Why do you care about what they think?" he wondered, glancing over to Lovely and then to the nameless girl whom were both trying to diffuse the situation.
"You shouldn't have to apologize for me. Instead of immediately thinking I was trying to make fun of him, maybe he should have thought I was just trying to get his attention," he explained, before turning back to the angry young man who was now crowding his personal space. It was pretty clear that Ilian did not care, and his grin widened once more. "Maybe I just wanted to ask if you'd like to dance with me."

"I somehow doubt you can keep up with him at a dance, Ilian. You play music better than you move to it," came the bored droll from the pale eyed teen that approached the quartet. Jericho had come more on necessity--ie, Melinda's demands--dressed in simple black slacks, grey dress shirt, and he'd made no compromises on his boots. He'd barely been there a few minutes when he'd wandered towards the food and stumbled upon, surprise of all surprises, Ilian picking a fight. Least Lovely and the white-haired girl were trying to get the other kid to back off.
With the sort of grin Ilian had on his face, Jericho was almost tempted to sock the brunet one himself. He glanced to the other boy (Matthew), trying to wager how much he could pack behind a punch if the interventions didn't work on getting him to leave Ilian alone. Jericho himself was confident enough he could drag Ilian out of there quick enough if necessary. They didn't need to ask Lovely to pay for replacing any clothing Ilian got blood on.
"I get my friend's an idiot, but I'd appreciate it if you'd at least wait till he's outside before you beat him up, if you won't just leave it." Much as he'd prefer the other guy just listen to the girl and Lovely, go dance or something, if he really was looking for a fight... Well. It'd be easier to deal with away from other people.
And easier to slip into a Negaverse uniform if Ilian was really looking for a way to get at someone.
Inside, there at the party? Too many younger kids, too many adults. Wouldn't be worth the hassle of the cleanup.

Hannah CarringtonIt had been five months since Hannah had last attended a big event like this one and since history had a tendency of repeating itself, she wasn't exactly too thrilled to be here. As far as she was concerned, anyone who past by that she didn't know could be a Negaverse agent looking to re-enact the Masquerade event which was held at the Umbrae Hotel. Even now that she had her pen back, she would be thinking twice before powering up in the event all hell broke loose and they found themselves in another emergency. Nearly two months had passed since she last saw Delilah, and for whatever reason she didn't feel the undeniable urge to call or text her that she normally had. Given the circumstances this was to be expected though wasn't it? Perhaps, but it didn't mean she had to like it. With finals a month away and the fashion show happening at nearly the same time, her sister was busier now more than ever. Hannah’s eyes drifted downward to where her hands rested in her lap. Soft blue flowing fabric rested beneath her fingertips, cascading over the lip of the seat she was sitting on. Ankles crossed beneath her like a lady she looked out across the crowded. Blue eyes, the color of tropic waters, scanned the tops of everyone's heads for her cousin Liam. Out of the two cousins she had on her mother's side, he was the one she was closest to. Which is why, in order to get Hannah out of the house, her parents had asked him if he would go with her; more so to keep an eye out but also to help her relax a bit and hopefully have fun. Quote: Open for chit chat or perhaps a dance smile

Aiden HaleNew years was definitely something to be remembered. It was bad enough that he had fainted behind an overturned table; not to mention his mask had been removed and he had no idea who had seen his face. True, he wasn’t the only one to have passed out that evening, still not something he looked forward to ever happening again. At least this social gathering was much smaller than the Masquerade and significantly less rowdy. Clad in nice dress pants and a maroon button down top he noted the two individuals who waved at Alex, Aiden nodded his head in their direction then, in a normal tone, inquired “do you know them?” Grey-rimmed blue colored eyes slid sideways, glancing at the ashen blond beside him. With an amused grin, he offered his friend a fresh, unopened, Sprite; the closest thing they would get to sparking cider or champagne.

As Aiden nodded his head he followed the direction the other indicated and he paused for a moment. The first seemed familiar but from where? Something told him that the individual was taller than before but was unsure if that was all that had changed. The other he knew well and that brought a smile to his features. “The first I can’t remember, though it feels like I should. It’s been a while.” And a lot had changed, at least that was what it felt like.
“The other one is Paris. She’s been teaching me French.” Not something which had come up, no reason for it to, but it had a place now. “She’s nice, I met her when I was working at a plant nursery.” He didn’t mention Paris having been male but having been dressed as a female then, and surprising him, nor that Paris was now a female (at least mostly); there was no reason to.
Taking the offered drink with a smile, and a softly spoken ‘thank you’ he opened the can and took a sip before offering to Aiden; willing to share his drink. “Do you want to go over and meet Paris?” He questioned after a moment. Sunshine Alouette For mention, and possibly more?

Raleigh felt something cold hit her bare upper back before it sloooowwwwwly melted and drip downwards. Her nose wrinkled as she turned to see what exactly was going on, hoping that whatever it was that hit her wasn't something horribly disgusting. She glanced down to see a couple of stray ice cubes on the ground and when she looked back up, a black and green haired boy was getting in the face of who appeared to be the ice-throwing culprit. A grin spread across the teen's lips as she whipped her phone back out and snapped another picture. #catfight #DestinyCity #SpringFling #boysareridiculous #soimmature Upload to instagram. "I totally think you should hit him," Raleigh chimed in as she shoved a handful of chips in her face hole, still grinning stupidly and sliding up to the group of boys and the white haired girl who was trying to break up the potential fight. Regular teenage drama totally beat weird awful super hero drama.

"Ok come on this is stupid. You guys are gonna get thrown out if you start a fight here." She was grateful for the first boy, who seemed to be a friend of the boy who threw the ice, at least he was trying to defuse the situation with her. She was less grateful to the second guy, who also seemed to be a friend of the offender, and the girl who came over was even worse actually egging them on.
"Please don't help." She said politely to the girl
She turned her attention to the black and green haired boy. "Why don't we go dance, or if you don't like to dance we can just talk I'd love to get to know you." She said gently taking his arm to try and lead him away from the group. She actually really didn't want to dance with him, she felt no attraction to him,or any of the guys here, nor were they friends. But if it meant avoiding a stupid pointless fight she was happy to sacrifice a dance or two.

Drake was here on his mother's orders. In a pressed white shirt and black pants, with a green tie, he stood off to the side on one of the walls. His long black hair had been tied back in an intricate braid down to his knees, tied off with his usual silver bangle. His mother had forced him to come, as a 'learning experience in social norms'. That was quite literally how she had to phrase it to him. He was there to observe and report back to her how it had all gone at the end of the night.
He still thought it was a waste of time though. It gave him time to see if Failyn was there. He hadn't talked to her in quiet sometime and frankly was getting somewhat worried about her. Perhaps he had scared her off, or she simply realized he was too... odd and analytical for her. He sighed quietly, taking mental notes about the event. Worrying about her would not magically make her appear. She was probably just busy.

Durumi was no stranger to flings or dances, and had pinned her long white hair into a formal updo. Her long red dress would make it seem hard to walk but well...She liked the idea of freedom.
As failyn, she had nothing but rules and careful politically dressed attire. She would wear mundane colors, whites and blacks and that was all.
But here, she felt nice in the slinky red soft gown, that matched her ruby red eyes.
Magiore she was sure would join them later if he wanted, but for now, she enjoyed the air of dance.
She was simply gonna walk by when she saw a familiar face and her eyes widened.
"Drake!! DRAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" She waved at him, completely forgetting that well....he wouldn't recognize her now. Oh dear.

Drake stared at the red dress wearing, white haired young woman who was shouting his name with complete confusion. He had no idea who she was, though apparently white hair was a common thread, as Failyn had white as well. But the young woman waving at him was not, in fact Failyn. Drake blinked a few times at her.
"Do I... know you, miss?" he asked politely. She was certainly enthusiastic, something he generally did not handle well. Then again, one could argue Drake was social inept at anything that wasn't tutoring (and even then, he wasn't particularly good interacting with his students). So he stood there, unsure of what to do, and hoping beyond hope the crazy young woman didn't try to hug him.

Anger faded slowly as the dumbass’s friends sided against him, apologizing and slinging their own barbs. It seemed his first impression of bully and friends was less accurate than he had thought. Nice, for a change. He hadn’t had anyone try to bully him in a long time, the few that had tried had learned fast, and he’d rather it stayed that way. Orah would kill him if he got them kicked out of the dance for fighting… but some things were hard to ignore.
“Tch…” The teen blew air sharply between his teeth at the offender as he smirked and tugged his vest straight. “If I believed you, I’d say you’re barking up the wrong tree. I don’t swing that way.”
Matthew stepped back as a new guy joined them, giving him a once over. “Whatever. He’s not worth the effort. You should keep him on a shorter leash though.”
“And no, I don’t want to dance. Sorry.” He said as he shrugged out of the girl’s grip too, putting his hands up between them. “I’m just going to go get something to eat. Go… find someone else to dance with.”
It was cute she was trying to break up a potential fight, but she was a bit too into it. Probably one of those girls who followed the teachers around school trying to be helpful. Definitely not his kind of crowd. He’d rather Dana was here… for Angel, he’d think about dancing. Maybe.

Oh dear, Durumi had a moment of forgetfullness and in her haste to fix her mistake, she stared at him wide eyed.
She would have to act, as another princess, as another person. Sun Durumi was, in legal terms, Failyn's cousin. Long lost cousin actually.
"Fai...Fai told me about you!" She whispered, leaning in close, "She...Well she even tried to set us up once a upon a time ago." Wow that was a terrible lie, "My name is Sun Durumi, I'm her cousin." Oh god, it was very hard to speak without being overly formal, but as Durumi, she was attempting her best not to be Fai.
"I suppose you haven't heard about...Fai as of late?" She hesitated.
