Thankfully, he didn't lose a lot of food. Patting the mare's neck reassuringly, they continued on without any more hazardous slips on scree. He really didn't like these mountains, but what could be done but to continue on?

Yuki had gotten used to this forest spelling bad luck and a lot of walking. As luck would have it, the trail was quiet and mercifully free of spiderwebs - normal or giant - for him to ride into.
Oh, and fancy that! A gift of food along the side of the trail again. Someone must have been looking out for travelers here after all... Maybe all of the stories of this forest being dangerous weren't entirely true. Clearly there was a caring person living here. How else would aid like this keep popping up?
He shared some of the food with his mare before packing the rest away.

Yuki didn't like snakes. They were slightly more tolerable than spiders when he knew that the reptiles weren't poisonous but it was rather hard to tell in the very dim light... He could only hope that he wasn't going to die from the bites that they landed on his legs.
At least his horse was nice enough to trample on a few of them for him as they ran for their lives from the mines.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 43 YOUR HP: 20

The trek up the mountain was considerably less infuriating since he actually still had a horse, by some miracle. He liked this horse, and apparently it liked him enough to not run away. He made note to keep this horse for his future quests in hopes that it would not betray him.
Once to the mountain summit, Yuki scoured the skies for giant eagles. Seeing none, he was so excited about not being attacked he shouted his victory to the sky.
That was apparently a bad idea because part of the mountain, or at least the snow on top of it, promptly came down on top of him and his trusty horse. Way to go. He'd gone the entire trip without feeling like an idiot and now he was going to die under a ton of snow.
Only he didn't give up and managed to actually dig his way out of the snow, using the old spit trick to figure out which way was up in order to find his way out. Hey, he survived an avalanche. That was something to brag about.
After digging himself and the animal out of the snow (who had managed most of the way herself), he located the artifact he had come for and proceeded to make his way back to Camelot considerably quieter.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 43 YOUR HP: 10

Prepping for this trip out had Yuki packing a bit less food, since his luck had been pretty good at not losing too much of it. There wasn't a whole lot of food to go around after all, and he didn't want to risk losing things that would be missed by others aside from him.
He did still take the horse that treated him so well before though. While he couldn't actually claim ownership over the animal, he could certainly try to beat everyone else to the stables and saddle her up before someone else took her out.
He totally packed a few extra veggies and apples for her too. Because a good horse like her deserved to be spoiled a bit.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 18 YOUR HP:30

Yuki had never been bothered by birds before.
Not until a very angry looking duck was standing in the middle of the trail and puffing out its chest like it was top dog in these parts.
"Go on, then." Yuki tried to shoo the bird away gently, ushering his horse forward.
Yuki learned today that ducks can actually jump really high and bite really hard. After prying the waterfowl's beak away from his face and hair, he all but threw it away from them and urged his horse to hurry away.

Riding through the forest, Yuki wasn't really paying much attention this time around. After going so far without seeing anything gigantic other than eagles, he was starting to think those spiders were a bunch of bullsh--
JESUS H CHRIST ONE OF THEM ALMOST DROPPED DOWN AND SNATCHED THEM UP.
Yuki might have thrown a potato at it but didn't look back to see if it did anything useful, because he was far too busy galloping the ******** away as fast as his horse would take him.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 13 YOUR HP:20

Still shaken by the size of the goddamn spider he'd just run from, Yuki was clinging to the reigns for dear life and constantly looking back to make sure the nightmare creature wasn't following them.
At least they made it through the mines without more animal attacks... Which seemed like a blessing considering the trend of things trying to rough them up this trip.
Running across another crate of abandoned food, Yuki checked it out to be sure it was safe before packing it away with his things. He was still sad to see that others had lost their things, but it was still to his benefit so he couldn't rightly just leave it lie.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 23 YOUR HP:20

After getting through the tunnels of the mines again, Yuki knew that he was very close to his goal. Again, his horse had served him well. Everything went so much faster when he didn't have to walk on his own two feet.
Even better, there wasn't an eagle in the sky. Maybe Yuki's luck had turned around and all of his quests were going to go smoothly. Well, aside from the whole creepy animal thing. He hadn't died yet, he'd finally got a horse that was suitable, and those were the two important things.
He dismounted and went to collect the artifact, plucking it up and putting it into his cloak. One would imagine that a guy would learn from his mistakes, but a victory shout was belted out. Maybe he just wanted to hear his voice echo off into nothing.
Instead he was promptly regretting it when he had to dig himself out of the snow again.
He really had to stop whooping like a child when something went his way. Only trouble seemed to come of it.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 23 YOUR HP: 10

He was getting used to these quests. Was it good to be getting used to them. Yuki supposed so.
Though he had almost gotten all of the artifacts that he'd learned about. That had him really thankful too... Because this s**t was hard going. And it was boring to be all on his own.
Well, he had his horse, but she couldn't talk back. That would be pretty creepy, actually.
After his last quest, he was half finished, so there was certainly a feeling of be so close... And yet so far away from the end of difficult riding and the potential of injury and illness.QUEST STATUS Food remaining: 28 YOUR HP: 30
