Alex inhaled, briefly. "Thank you," he said, because he knew that was as close to a real promise as he was going to get out of her. He couldn't stop the smile that wrote itself across his face, anyway. "I knew I could count on you."
He hoped she understood how far he meant that promise to go. That he would rather die than Ascend - and he would want her to be the instrument of that.
"I know they would," he said, and his voice was surprisingly gentle. "You've done all kinds of terrible things. And you have the potential to do more. But I mean -- I borderline committed serial murder. Signature and everything. It took a huge shock for em to stop, and then I just. I mean. You know." Drank himself into a stupor, because it was easier than dealing with things.
"I just want you to be happy, and free, Jay. You'll never have that here - the Negaverse is always gonna try to lock you in a cage."

Jaysen made a small irritated noise and just rolled her eyes, but she tilted her head to the side ever so slightly, all the same.
"Yes yes. I have the potential for a lot of things, as I have been told multiple times." The blonde grumbled. "I am well aware of what you have done in the past, as I have had to stop you on more than one occasion. As I just stated, I have been through similar endeavors, though mine were vastly different from yours. But once again, they are your friends Alex. They have no reason to help me, and you will not see me giving them such."
Alex definitely knew how to push her buttons, that was for sure. A thought crept through her mind that maybe she should push him out of the chair, and off her. "Do you expect me to find this freedom and happiness if I were over there Alex? Who is to say that Order itself isn't some cage?" She mumbled, watching as Alex traced the tattoo on her arm.
Yep. She was definitely going to shove him off.
"I do not think it is as easy as you put it Alex. What works for someone, will not always work for the next person."
