Nightmare soon found an artifact of his own - a necklace of some sort, it looked like - only to frown slightly in annoyance when he realized it was broken. With a sigh, he resumed digging, absentmindedly shifting to one side to avoid a wave of dirt from Demon's tunneling.

Q soon spotted a nearby sword, brightening as he went over and picked it up. "Hey, lookie, guys, I found a sword!" Then he paused, squinting as he examined it. "...Look a bit strange, though..." Understandable, since he'd just picked up Arturius from Team Venari.
Off to the side, Guile and Rika groaned in exasperation at their leader's antics.

Cimm&Nuna&Mana&Kennick

It seemed that even with the distraction of Nuna gone, Team Moonlighter had returned to their previous string of poor luck. Kennick still hadn't found anything since the stray turd, and Cimm was having no luck in his own escapades in excavating.

"Stupid, pointless work. Why the heck am I stuck here when I could be doing more important things..." Cimm picked up the dragon's mutterings, but he couldn't share the sentiment. For once they were actually doing something peaceful. None of his missions previously had been so easy going. Even with the lack of discoveries, the Luxio couldn't help but to feel relaxed as he focused on searching for the hidden artifacts that may be under the next paw swipe.

Nuna in the meanwhile had decided to occupy herself elsewhere, seeing as she didn't want to be a sore loser and defy her lost bet. She sighed as she neared the pile of goodies and artifacts, deciding to stare at it longingly instead of socializing. There were just so many shiny things! And to think that it would go straight to some research facility or museum put her heart in a blender. How wasteful. The Aron shook her head and continued to gaze at the glittering objects, hoping that one might accidentally find itself in her hands somehow.

Bahadur&Herbert

Ring! Bahadur looked up from eyeing a team near the assortment of collected artifacts. He saw his partner wobbling crazily above another low point on the ground, and the Dunsparce was more than willing to set to work digging out whatever the Bronzor had found. Once uncovered, an old clay jar with amazing foreign engravings revealed itself. Bahadur nodded approvingly at the item as he rolled it to the pile where a Pokémon was holding a sword in its paws, leaving Herbert to his search and find task.

Rezon waited patiently for Aldric to procure another item and when he did the feline quickly picked it up to examine it. After several minutes, he would let out a soft hmm sound. It looked to be some type of coin...or..something. Though, it was far more flimsy. Very flimsy and in fact the moment Rezon tried to move it, the piece of artifact crumbled within his paw. Clearly they were on a trash run, not an artifact one..

The Charmander huffed as he continued to dig, scooping out handfuls as fast as he could dig. He wondered if there was more to be discovered then a few minor items? Spending more time digging, he blinked as he came upon something and instantly crawled out of his hole to hand it to Murdock. "Lookit. It's a tablet...thingie..." He murmured as he slid it over to the larger Pokemon.

`

Katherine, apparently, went unnoticed on her first greeting to team Oddball so she repeated what she had said before. "Hello." She didn't quite recognize everyone there but they most certainly did seem to be a team. She hadn't met all of them the first time. For Arturius however it was most certainly their first meeting and he was slightly less than pleased by the fact that he was being handled. He would say only, "That would be because I am a member of a team," though the gem on his crossguard would come to "life" as the insides seemed to warp and wobble until it finally settled on Q as if staring at him.

Ty's effort was fruitless. Dig, dig, dig...

Strike, strike, strike. Theodore wouldn't find or even really turn any soil. Digging out the vase took time and care. It was fragile, he knew that much; it was old. If he was careless handling it it would break like the last one had which, unfortunately, meant digging out the ground around it for quite a distance so that he could carefully and actually pull it out of the ground. His arms weren't very long. He would have to dig quite a bit in order to get at it.

Points: 0

Brace, kick, push, hoist, dump. It was a repetitive and very much endless process that Jessica engaged in with little complaint. Nothing she dug up was worth anything, none of it was any more significant than hardened clumps of dirt and rocks. But she pressed onwards, her interest having been drawn in by the fragment she had found. There would be more where that one came from and she was not inclined to stop simply because it would take a moment for her to find another one. The singular success had driven her the work straight out of the realm of futility. It had just been bad luck before, she reassured herself. She would just have to continue.

Cimm&Nuna&Mana&Kennick

Cimm's claws latched on lightly to the edge of something that was not dirt as he dug carefully through the ground. Ever so delicately, the feline pulled out and dusted off what looked to be a large book of sorts, wrapped in dried out leather bindings. It seemed like just a simple journal, something that may not even have been of much importance. But having seen other books on the pile earlier, Cimm decided to turn it in anyways. A find was a find.

Unlike Cimmerian, Kennick couldn't find anything. He gruffly huffed as he eyed the book his leader was carrying to the assortment of artifacts. Turning from the sight of it, he grouched and dug more vigorously into the earth.

As Cimm approached the drop off area, he noticed that many Pokémon were congregating and sticking around it, including Nuna. The Aron was staring at an Eglym holding a Honedge. The girl looked as if she wanted to say something, but quickly closed herself off once she saw Cimm heading over with his find. He smirked knowingly as he put it down and strode back.

Bahadur&Herbert

Bahadur was just returning to his team member when the Bronzor started shaking again. This time it was only a slight vibration as it hovered with its psychic energy about a foot off the ground. Glad that the pace was quickening in their finds, the normal type slithered over and dug around the area designated to him. He managed to locate a staff. A very fancy staff, garnished with silver plating and diamonds encrusting the edges. It may have had some purpose for an old Pokémon, perhaps serving as a walking stick of sorts.

"Keep it up." The Dunsparce told Herbert, who was already floating up and away to find another item of interest.

`

Ty struck the dirt. Something finally broke the monotony. It wasn't a dull thunk at the end of his spade but instead a muffled jingle. He pulled the spade back slightly and began to part the dirt. What came out was a bracelet of tarnished silver. It looked terrible, it really did; it looked like it belongs in the dirt it came out of. But it was most certainly something special enough and it was certainly what they had set out to find so Ty simply slipped it around his wrist and kept on going. It was a little large for him... but not so large that it would slip off of his extended hand. It was a good enough fit.

Cut
Donovan & Theodore
Points: 5

Scrape. Scrape. Scrape. It was an abrasive sound. He didn't like the sound of the spade bouncing and scraping across the surface of the vase but there was no other way for him to clean the dirt from it so that he could properly lift it out. It was all clumped up and, most importantly, quite heavy. Theodore was not exactly a large, muscular or physiologically advantaged pokemon for this sort of work so he made due with what he could do. Had he had a more suitable partner this wouldn't have been an issue but, well... he was willing to make that sacrifice for the benefits that would be elsewhere.

Robin
Jessica & Tobias
Points: -1

It was an endless cycle. Jessica's arms began to ache under the strain of the much heavier shovel and the much heavier loads it carried. It was better than being on her hands and knees but, as opposed to doing any real digging, she couldn't help but take the time to passively massage both her arms and her legs to ease the strain. She shifted back and forth in place and took a few steps around where the shovel had been shoved into the ground as she tried to get things moving and pain-free. Tobias had moved god-knows-where and was in much the same shape though his efforts were completely and totally tireless. Though he hadn't found any "treasure" in the sense that the guild was looking for it he had started to find some oddly round stones. That alone was enough to keep him going, even as his mouth filled with his "precious" objects.

((That's fine; these things happen!))

Katherine laughed as she waved back, perhaps not so obviously amused by Q shaking her partner back and forth. Not that Q knew that they were partners to begin with. Arturius was slightly less amused than Katherine. "I would ask that you do not shake me."
Katherine gave little apparent regard for Arturius, reasoning that he could take care of himself, and simply did what she had set out to do: talk to somebody. "Has your team had any luck digging?" It was a very generic, simplistic question more meant to open up a conversation of some sorts than anything else. She was bored and more than a little bit frustrated after the streak of bad luck she had had, though she kept that fact to herself.

What was Ty doing? He was actually doing his work. Unlike Katherine.

Cut

Points: 7

Theodore had finally done it. He had dug a set of stairs that went down to the vase. God, it was a nice vase. It had to be because otherwise everything he would have done would have been horribly disproportionate to the amount of effort he had put into actually clearing the dirt away and then picking it up. With a grunt and some strain, Theodore dragged the vase up each stair one at a time. It was quite the effort just to get it out of the hole given that it was about the same size as him but it was quite nice.

Robin
Jessica & Tobias
Points: 1

Jessica took one last moment to go over her body before taking the shovel back down to the dirt. As she lifted the shovel back out and prepared to dump the dirt inside, she paused and instead gently set it down. Her claws gently picked through the earth and stripped it apart until a figurine's head came to bear. It looked... simple, almost childlike--it fit poorly with the aesthetic of what everyone else seemed to be finding but the simple metal construction suggested that it was a genuine article. She would have to turn it in.

Though it was a little dumb that she would have found it right away if she hadn't taken a break...

Cimm&Nuna&Mana&Kennick

Nuna really, really wished she could say something. The sword pokemon was in an amusing situation that she wanted to comment on, and she felt she could hold a decently interesting conversation with the Kirlia about shiny things. Not to mention the Eglym, whom was clumsily holding onto the steel pokemon. But unfortunately for her, Cimm's hearing was probably sharper than the Honedge's blade. She refused to let her mouth earn her the title of a sore loser, and instead settled for staring intensely across the pile of goods at the Pokémon having a conversation.

Meanwhile, Cimm and Kennick were beginning to realize that there must be something wrong with their empty digging spot and moved on to another area.

Skye & Quil & Zahra

Zahra carefully swept the surface of the vase with the archaeologist’s brush. She wanted to cleanse it off the dust and sand that might scratch it on removal, and to get a better understanding of the vase’s shape and composition before they tried to dig further. She was more than a little nervous that they might break it, with how delicate a hollowed object was likely to be once buried.

She dropped the brush and started to scratch at the edges of the dirt that still buried the vase beneath the ground. She needed to get around to the other side before she would be able to lift it.

There was a footstep behind her, and Zahra jumped a little. Skye padded up from behind her with a smile, eyes sparkling with curiosity at what her teammate had found. ”A vase? Good find, Zahra,” she noted warmly. The Espeon was in a fairly good mood, it seemed, if only because their work today was fairly simple in nature.

A small golden head popped up from around the Espeon’s shoulder. ”Want a hand digging it out?” Quil chirped, glancing over at Zahra.

The Togetic nodded. ”Sure, if you want. I’m having some issues getting the edges free- I don’t know where there might be a handle or something.”

Her teammates settled around her find, taking a moment to further examine the contours of the vase before they began to work away at digging out the precious artifact. With the additional help, it was but a few minutes before they were able to pull the beautiful vase from its place in the ground.

Ghost & Atius

Ghost dragged her sharp claws into the dirt, raking the soil in the hopes that there might be lurking beneath the surface. She felt something hard deflect the path of her foot, and the Absol smiled as she realized she had found something new. Atius would be pleased with her.

The Absol pawed at the ground a few more times, her claws tearing a little further at the spot where she had felt something solid, and found that her claws caught a few times beneath some sort of chain.

She frowned and began the careful dig around the chain. She would tug at it every now and then to tell which direction it went in the ground, careful not to break what must have been very old metal. She wasn’t sure if that ensured its strength or if it meant the metal would be horribly brittle. There were many things that the Absol knew, but the historical strength of jewelry metal was not one of those things.

She glanced around her to ensure that Atius was at a safe distance. Ghost was very assured of her safety while her partner was near, but she couldn’t say the same for the metal object she was trying to unearth. If his magnetic body drew the chain from the ground without its attachment, he would break it. Ghost was keen to keep the artifact in one piece.

She dug very cautiously for a few minutes before she found the end of the chain. A lovely, heart-shaped locket lay in the soil. It was a very pretty gold tone, like the chain it was strung to, and had a beautifully-intricate design etched into the surface of the heart.

Ghost lightly pulled it from the ground and held it in the palm of her paw, brushing the excess dirt from the surface as she examined it. She opened the locket, hoping to find something inside. A partially-degraded slip of paper had been folded tightly inside, and though no dirt had reached it, it was obviously quite old. Deciding that she didn’t dare risk tearing the page, the Absol firmly closed the locket and went to hand it over to their client.

Keiran

Keiran stared down at his meager find, brushing the dirt from his arms. He’d been doing his best to avoid breaking anything, but evidently there was a great deal of these finds that had already been broken.

In particular, he now stared down at the remains of a shattered hand mirror. He knew he wasn’t the one to break it, but he could also feel a shiver of unease in his spine. His clan had always been fairly superstitious, and this was clearly a sign of bad luck. He made a quick gesture with his paws to ward off the bad omen, and to invite the return of good prosperity.

He flushed as he realized someone might have spotted him doing so, the heat of embarrassment burning under his fur. Enough with the omens and nonsense. It didn’t even feel right for him to allow such foolish superstitions to take a place in his life, not since he had long ago abandoned his tribe.

Taking up the handle of the mirror, he carefully lifted it from the ground. Then, with a shimmer aura in the air, the shattered components of the mirror were deposited back where they belonged. If not for the spider web cracks all along the mirror’s surface, no one would have guessed that the mirror had been broken at all.

Mercy - Peter - Elena
2 pts

The air of the islands was actually quite relaxing. A cool breeze ran through Mercy's fur, causing it to stand on end. The Luxio had been quite inactive as of her last mission to the Eerie Bog, and now wasn't exactly an exception to that rule. There was a rift in between her and Peter- one that was going completely unnoticed by Elena. The Milotic probably had the most drive to do tasks at the moment- Mercy and Peter were too upset with each other to really do anything. The silence in between the two was interrupted by one of Elena's bell-like coos, as the Milotic immediately charged towards the dig-site, looking for something to play with.

Peter gave a heavy sigh and began to jog after the Milotic. Elena was so easily excitable, she had probably already upset some of the other teams in their digging. He constantly worried for both his Captain and the Water Type- they were both so prone to getting into trouble. But, at the very least, they could both get out of trouble. Mercy was just downright intimidating at times, and Elena could just use her cute eyes as a distraction or otherwise use her scales to blind her enemies. It was honestly almost worrying.

"Elena! Elena, wait up!" The Charmander could only move so fast, and the Milotic was surprisingly agile out of the water. Fortunately (at least for these purposes) she was extremely easy to find. She had her nose buried in a pile of discarded dirt. Peter gave out a loud sigh, and calmly strode over to her, gently brushing some of the dirt off of the scales that were in reach. "Please don't run off like that again-" Peter was caught off guard by a small and shiny object that Elena had slung at his face.

"Oh god. He caught it right before it took out one of his eyes. It felt cold, and wet, and it had probably been in her mouth. He pulled a face, This was demeaning- he wanted at least a little common decency. However, when Peter looked down at the object, he was surprised to see a gem- strangely polished, like it had been cut and then abandoned, but very beautiful. It wasn't an evolutionary stone, but it resembled a FireStone in color.

He looked up at Elena with amazement before turning back towards the dig site. Maybe they should start prospecting as well. Perhaps they would even find a jackpot! With new found motivation, Peter set off.

Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the digsite, Mercy had caught sight of a familiar face- Cimm. She remembered their brief meeting at the Meet and Greet a while back. It was probably best that she go and say something, considering that Peter and Elena had already ditched her to go and look for treasure. Honestly, she got no respect.

The Luxio approached the other cautiously. He had been pretty easily provoked earlier- and she didn't want him to be caught off guard. Cimm was... strange. There really wasn't a better way of putting it. She failed to catch any of the irony in that statement. "Cimm! Remember me?"

Air

The Ditto finally got a hold of himself after a long period of inaction after the Smeargle's Teleport. He'd just barely made it to the Main Hall in time, having been talked into coming as his team's representative several minutes after the bell had first rung. Naturally Air hadn't wanted to go all by himself, but Neo didn't want to leave the children so soon after they'd hatched, and Nyx was nowhere to be found, the Vulpix having disappeared on a vaguely described "research expedition" the night before. It was the hopeful look in his captain's eyes that had finally guilted Air into agreeing to go on the Meowstic's behalf, but that didn't make him any more eager to do it. As a result, he'd appeared in the Main Hall mere seconds before they were transported to Trinity Peaks, and the sudden change in location had left him queasy and utterly disoriented--he didn't use teleport enough to be used to the sensation, especially not when it caught him by surprise.

What finally brought the Ditto to his senses was the gleam of gold that flashed past him, the Milotic's scales nearly blinding him as they reflected the sunlight. "Gah!" the little Pokemon yelped in surprise, his fluid form sinking down to the ground in an attempt to make himself as unnoticeable as possible. He didn't dare to pop back up and look around until the spots cleared from his eyes, and he could figure out what on earth he was supposed to be doing.

Everywhere he looked, Pokemon were digging. Several had gathered around the pile of tools, but even more were hacking away at the ground beneath them, producing objects and carrying them over to a pile of treasure. So these things were buried underground and they were supposed to find them? Well, that wasn't so bad; he could figure out a way to do that. The Ditto surveyed the Pokemon around the area, searching for a Type that seemed to be good at digging. There were so many that he wanted to try, his form quavering with indecision as he wondered what it would feel like to assume the form of any of his fellow Guildmates. He'd grown familiar with Neo and Nyx's shapes by now, but neither of them seemed particularly suited to the task at hand. There had to be something better...

Air's eyes locked on a group of workers that were somewhat further off, apparently a part of the Smeargle's company, since he didn't remember seeing them back before the Teleport--they were pretty large, so he doubted he'd overlooked them. So many good diggers to choose from, which one would be best? After a moment his form began to glow and he shifted into a new shape, smiling at the familiar tingling. He grew taller and his arms filled out, large blades taking the place of fingers, and another growing out atop his head. When the process was complete Air stretched his Excadrill form curiously, getting a feel for how the body responded, then gleefully looked toward the ground and began to dig with his newly defined claws.

The Excadrill body felt nice, cutting through the ground without any difficulty and letting Air dig deep into the heart of the soil. The dirt felt pleasing to the Ground Type form, and it wasn't hard to tell how fulfilling the job of excavating would be to a Pokemon like this. Air pulled up short about three feet into his hole, feeling his claws connect with something other than soil. Carefully, hardly daring to breathe for fear it would harm the object, the Ditto-Excadrill dug around the object with his claws until it dislodged itself from the earth. Air's eyes glowed with pride as he stared at the stone-carved tablet, its front side covered with ancient symbols that he couldn't fathom how to decipher. It was so mysterious and old, and that thought was exciting beyond compare; who could have made it, and for what? He desperately wanted to know, but he'd save the question for when he turned in his findings. For now, with the promise of unearthing other artifacts like this, the Ditto-Excadrill set back to digging in earnest.

Erinn

Erinn stared at the ground in frustration, his eyes betraying the utter hopelessness that gnawed at the Paras' insides. He'd been trying this whole time--goodness only knew how hard he'd been trying--but it hadn't accomplished anything at all. Paras weren't built for digging: he couldn't handle any of the tools, and his claws were utterly useless against the hard ground. It hadn't stopped him from trying though. Ever since they'd arrived and Erinn had realized the impossibility of the task he'd been given, the Paras had made up his mind to try and prove himself wrong. He was on a Treasure Hunting team, and he had to do something to show that he belonged there, not just to prove his capability to Barcel but for his own sake. Now, after what felt like years of picking away at the ground with his claws he was staring at a series of crisscrossing lines that (quite literally) had barely scratched the surface of the ground, looking more like a child's stick drawing than anything close to a dig sight. Clearly this wasn't working: he needed some help. The trouble was getting help required talking to someone, and the Paras was too ashamed of his inability to do his job to do that--he'd much rather go unnoticed, so no one had to see just how incompetent he looked.

Naturally, Q didn't seem to notice Arturius's protests. "Weeell, Stormy and Rush found a big gold statue of an Electrode, Guile found a big Machamp statue, and I think I saw Pippa and Luna coming by with a big chest full of coins a few moments ago. Oh, and I found a talking sword!" He held up Arturius for her to inspect. "...Granted, he says he's with a team, so he's probably not an artifact... but still, talking sword!"
Meanwhile, Stormageddon and Rush stared curiously at the strange, cannon-esque artifact they'd uncovered. After a few moments, Rush noticed a button on the side and zipped over, smacking it with a paw.
Q blinked as he felt a sudden sense of impending doom, then yelped as he ducked for cover, grabbing both Arturius and Katherine and yanking them down with him just in time to avoid the massive beam of energy that zipped mere inches above their heads; instead the beam zipped off and hit a rather large boulder, causing a rather loud explosion that sent rubble flying everywhere.
Stormageddon stared a little longer at the apparent ancient weapon, then smiled evilly and began rubbing his little paws together as an aura of pure darkness formed around him. "Chuchuchuchuchuchuchu..." Rush, on the other hand, just began hopping up and down as he started quivering in excitement, making little noises that indicated a general desire for another shiny-beam-thing.
Guile and Rika exchanged a look, then promptly smacked the weapon hard enough to render it inoperable, albeit still easily fixed should someone with the right tools and/or skill set desire to do so. Sure, they'd probably lose some points for that, but it was better than letting an aspiring evil overlord get ahold of a weapon of mass destruction!
Upon seeing his new toy was broken, Stormageddon did a surprisingly out of character thing: he burst into rather noisy tears, Rush following shortly after due to how loud Stormy was being.

Cimm&Nuna&Mana&Kennick

Cimm's ears twitched as his name was called, and he looked up from his digging with narrowed eyes and tense shoulders. No one had tried to approach him except for his team thus far so he had been hoping that had meant they were staying decently incognito- even with his outburst against Nuna. The thought of this gathering becoming something like the nerve wracking Meet-n-Greet nearly made him want to request a teleport back to the guild. He really just wanted to keep to his own, but it relaxed him slightly to see that it was the Luxio he had met before approaching him. A familiar face that he (hopefully) wouldn't have to explain things over again with.

"Yes. Mercy, right?" He asked rhetorically since he was pretty sure of her name. He hadn't been introduced to anyone else really, so it hadn't been hard to recall. "Are you digging by yourself?" He wondered out loud because the Treasure Hunter didn't have any of her team surrounding her. He scolded himself inwardly for not thinking of coming solo himself. If he had known the mission beforehand, he would have. Things certainly would be easier without his obnoxious team members.

"What? You're being civil now? Speaking of which, Kennick decided to add in his own snarky little comment. Cimm threw him a sharp glare that was doubly returned before the Shelgon huffed and gently kicked something up from the dirt that was shiny. A small ringlet, ornate with gold and silver twists. "Oh, and I found something."

"Then turn it in and butt out." The feline replied in deadpan. The dragon grumbled something that he was quick to ignore as it went to deliver the find to the pile. A rather large rumble near the pile made Cimm jump, but he refused to look over to the destruction he instantly knew was over there, because Nuna was there. And if she had anything to do with it, then he was ignoring her.

So instead of paying it mind, he merely tensed up and kept his mouth in a firm line as he looked at Mercy.

Bahadur&Herbert

"Ah-ha!" Bahadur made sure not to yell too terribly loud in his delight. He shuffled around in the dirt until he uncovered the glinting artifact under him. He backed away and flipped it up with his tail. A cameo brooch sat on the ground, lined with dirt covered gold that accented the traditional sardonyx used to define the beautiful silhouette of a Pokémon. The species it was shaped after was a bit ambiguous. Nonetheless, the Dunsparce was glad to find it, as it was his first solo find of the day. He carefully took the artifact over and added it to the rather scattered pile.

He had moved away some time before the seemingly random explosion, but when he felt it, he looked at the other teams around him. Seeing their reactions would surely give him some info on them.
