The action that Mimsy was itching for, on the other hand, had very little to do with missions or combat or Deus itself. It had everything to do with the exuberant husband she was following, her steps brisk and purposeful as she hurried to keep up with him. If he wanted to be here, then she would be too, regardless of how badly she wanted to stay home - and this particular outing wasn't really at the request of the organization she grew less and less inclined to serve, but was instead a direct result of Rep requesting backup, which stirred an entirely different sense of obligation within her. She didn't mention that. Robert seemed so excited, and she wanted him to stay that way. The stench of the mall did not. Her fingertips gently fell against his back, her hand sliding until her palm was flat and firmly against him, and moved it back and forth in an attempt to soothe the coughing fit. Her other hand slipped into her pocket and produced a little vial, which she deftly unscrewed with her thumb before tipping it over to pour a small amount onto her finger. "Here." She affectionately tapped just beneath his nose with it, leaving behind a strong scent that was strongly floral but most accurately described as aggressively refreshing. The vial was returned to her pocket without using any for herself, and she tilted her head to smile at him. "Is this better?"

He tried to control the coughing when he felt her worried hand on him, and wished for nothing more than a glass of water or something to take off the sting of burning down his throat, but instead he got a fresh inhale of a stronger scent than the one he'd choked on, and let out another series of coughs. It only took a few of them before he controlled himself this time, but even with his red face and glistening eyes, he nodded in the affirmative. "Yeah, don't smell it no more. Thanks Mimsy!" He leaned down to kiss the top of her head, and squeezed her hand excitedly. "Almost coughed out a lung there. Okay, time to man up. Let's see if we can OH MY GOD THEY HAVE THOSE LITTLE HORSE RIDE THINGS Mimsy do you got a quarter?" He was already halfway over to one, which was actually a space rocketship, instead of a horse. But when he tried to climb into it, he found only his leg fit. Instead, he just sat on top, listening to the sound of it whining at the weight of him. He grabbed the little steering wheel, held his legs out in the air several feet past the spaceship, and waited. "Put a quarter in the slot!"

Though the pockets of her coat were filled with an assortment of useful objects that allowed her to fall into the category of 'well-prepared', Mimsy most certainly did not have a quarter. This was a very real problem, because he absolutely needed a quarter. She was not knowledgeable enough with electrical engineering to rewire the machine for permanent use, so she relied on her other skills for assistance. Observing the immediate area provided a glimpse of many, many quarterless things, both organic and inorganic in classification. But it also included a fountain. A curious human tradition dictated that coins were to be thrown into fountains for the sake of making a wish, which she recalled with a smug little smile, and she stepped towards the water feature to retrieve a handful of change from the bottom. "I have acquired precisely what you wanted," she proudly announced, extending one dripping silver coin towards him. " And I have stolen many wishes, to be repurposed as wishes of our own!" In the meantime, a small puddle was accumulating near her feet from the fistful of coins she protectively clutched in her very wet hand.

His wife was so terribly clever. With a whoop of excitement, Robert extended his hands out in grabbing motions, indicating that she should come closer and put the quarter in herself. "Okay quick, put it in and start the machine, then jump on my lap and we'll fly to SPACE." He was unaware that the machine had already gone triple it's weight limit, and was unlikely to actually move when it was wrenched into motion. Having her on his lap would inevitably break the contraption altogether. Stealing wishes from the fountain felt terrible and naughty, but he realized that they were at the mall to protect the human race - they were owed a few of those wishes. "I bet half of them were 'I wish I wasn't being attacked by a giant shadow monster right now' anyway. We'll put 'em to better use, for sure." But that had to wait, because first, their trip to space was preparing to launch. And they had come no closer to actually finding, or fighting, any of the so called monsters that all those imaginary wishes had been asking for.

The technical details of electrical wiring may not have been her area of scientific expertise, but physics was - the probability that this machine could achieve an amount of force sufficient enough to propel them into motion was almost too small to be of note, but it was there. Yet how could anything that was simply improbable be any match for a team that was undeterred by the impossible? It couldn't. Which was why, as she laughed at his hypothesis regarding the stolen wishes, she followed each step of his directions until she was clambering up into his lap, still fiercely holding onto the wishes. This was difficult to manage when paired with the sudden importance she had placed upon not dropping a single one of them, but she did. And the ride made for children was not moving, because of course it wasn't. "Perhaps we are already in space," she proposed upon her discovery of its immobile state, wide-eyed and reverently hushed.

Of course Mikael had no idea how to stay put for any length of time, and wanted more than anything else to be helpful. When the Life hunter he'd latched onto said that she could do with a few more bandages, he struck out on his own to see if he could find any in the nearby shops.
He didn't even think anything of crossing the perimeter, his sense of danger almost non existent.
The first shop he went into mostly seemed to sell clothes, but to him this meant that maybe they would stock the bandages he needed because they were clothy to begin with. He wandered around an aisle of shoes and saw what seemed to be a woman, standing looking at a lovely pair of boots.
She stood for a long, long time.
"Excuse me miss." he said, she didn't move. "Excuse me!"
He reached out to touch her, to hopefully stir her out of her reverie and realised that her shirt wasn't a red and shirt, it had just been stained that way, she turned with a sound somewhere between a sigh and a delighted surprise.
Mik stepped back, her eyes were green and her flesh had started to blacken and peel in places, she reached out towards him.
Fen snarled, and Mik turned to run.

As he ran through the store, he summoned his weapon. This did not make running easier, the sniper rifle was practically as large as he was and was not really suited for use while moving.
The woman had started to patiently shamble after him, slow and persistent.
"GO AWAY MISS." he yelled, stumbling over a fallen garment and in panic, found himself shouldering the gun and firing it in her direction. "I DON'T WANT YOUR SHOES."

This, predictably had no effect on the woman at all, she let out a strange gurgle, black fetid gunk bubbling from her mouth and dribbling down her chin. It distressed Mikael deeply, this wasn't supposed to happen at all!
"Are you okay miss? I'm SORRY I DIDNT MEAN TO HURT YOU." She let out a hiss and swiped long, blackened nails at him.
"Ouch! That hurt!" he said pathetically, rubbing his arm with one hand and turning to run again.
"HELP, HELP PLEASE. She won't stop, hjälp mig!"

Isaac listened very, very intently to everything that Nellie from Mist had to say. The man watched the dark-haired woman with such concentration, one hand coming up to brush through his beard while the other cupped his elbow. His dark eyes touched on each group that she pointed out, and finally he let out a low hum. "Three days," Isaac murmured thoughtfully, dropping his hands back to his sides before turning back to Nellie. Another giant, megawatt smile was focused on her, and he held out his arms quite grandly. "Yes, of course Isaac would like to team up with Nellie!" He adapted her way of speaking without really realizing it, too focused on the prospect of teaming up to even care. "Where do you want to begin, hmm?"

{Zombies.} He'd thought as we went through the portal. Of course Horace had been free; he hadn't been doing much aside from throwing himself onto what work he could find and not sleeping. {infected.} Dr. Jannisari had corrected. Her dry voice had rambled on a bit about fear creatures and how humans could not be it. Horace thought about hunters and how they were hybrids, in a way. He was infected with Jannisari. Shaking his head softly, he continued to slink about in the shadows. Horace had found himself surprising good at creeping about for such a tall kid. It probably helped that he hadn't seen any armored or larger, more intelligent-seeming infected. He kept his weapon unsummoned so that the glow would not attract anything. Eventually, he needed to head back and possibly team up with someone - the mall was large and a singular hunter would be at a disadvantage. Speaking of, Horace heard an... unfortunately familiar voice crying out. s**t. If this were not a professional area, he might have left (a lie, even as much as he disliked Mik, he wouldn't have left). Horace summoned Jannisari as he skidded over next to the infected, one fist connecting with her(?) shoulder. Her long nails tried to scabble at his throat but he bounced back and jabbed Mik in the shoulder. "Mikael! Just shoot it!" Mikael came down with a bad case of performance anxiety as Horace arrived to help him, stammering.
"Th...thank you"
But not actually shooting at all.
The woman gave him a smack for his trouble.

Horace swallowed his sigh as Mikael promptly did nothing. Where was all that fire the boy had showed on the beach? "Don't thank me until it's dead." Horace was beyond grateful this type didn't skitter about. It was fairly slow and it's swipes, while vaguely painful, weren't that bad. Horace grunted and kicked it in the shin, causing it to hiss and stumble. A bubbling noise issued out of its throat along with more gunk. "Why'd you wander off alone anyway?' Shu was surprised for the sender of the text message to be Rep, and let out a 'oh' when she read the message, it was about a mission available for them. The petite girl put her thumb near her lips and contemplated, determined after a while that she might need more experiences regarding the method to deal with the infected (she wasn't sure what's the difference between zombies and the rest). Mission after mission, her speed to pack necessities was shortened. < Jack! There gonna be a lot of bloods and rotted smells, are you sure?> "Hmm, I have made up my mind." < Tsk. Don't die. I don't wanna get a new human so fast.> "I need to face my own problem, I want to protect people." She took off her clothes, ready to get changed but she found her hands shaking. She curled up and held herself, hair fell in a cascade and whispered to herself. It sounded like a wish or mumble but too soft to be heard, time passed and when she raised her head up, there was no longer fear but the usual smile. < Hurry up and get changed, you'll be late.> Bangs secured and long hair tied in twin tails, she was dressing in black and white and had her supplies packed. Black would be the best as blood stained on it won't be too visible, she took a deep breathe and prepared herself for the possible upcoming fights. All ready.
She replied with a bright cheerful smile on her face.

ANNOUNCEMENT
The tannoy announcement system of the mall itself played a delightful little chime overhead and there was a crackle.
"Testing. Testing. Is this thing on?" The voice was unmistakably Reps, with his usual though a little pared back accent and a whole ******** lot more cheery than most people were used to. "Hey! Hello my ******** lovelies. Thank you all for coming along to this little problem, such a wonderful chance for teamwork and co-operation! Be alert, there aren't many of the things right now but there's suspicions they have an origin point, all those cars out there aren't accounted for. Killing these stragglers has er... nothing to do with er. drawing anything out..
He cleared his throat. "I'll try and keep you lovely girls and guys updated on what's going on via this. Right now we have a little blonde boy and a pessimistic native American in the clothing store losing to an angry shopper." He seemed to go quiet for a moment. "And enjoy the ride you two." And moving along added. There's a group of civs hiding out in the woman's toilets near the entrance. I can get them freedom!
"I'll keep you all updated on s**t. Good luck my comrades!"

"Infected? Shopping Mall? That sounds exciting~ What do you think, my pretty girl?" < Hmm....Cat doesn't like ugly things but if Ace wanna go and smash something into mince, I'll be happy to follow you. Just make sure none of those disgusting meat left on my beautiful blade, okay? ~♡> "You would look flawless even you are covered in blood," said Ace, who put on a tank top and then a sheer see-through T-shirt, his long lean legs were wrapped in a pair of skinny pants. He sat down in front of his desk and painted his nails quickly. "What should I have today, Cat?" The haunt gave the hunter the touch she was perching on his shoulder, . "Perfect, it will suit my boots."
The boring lecture they had about what to bring in external missions came in handy, the sun trainee carried his stuff to the location. Do you think they look like zombies the movies or games presented, he asked his partner. <Dunno~ Let's find one and check out ♡>
