Well, this was the first Antiope was hearing about this sort of thing.
"...wait, there's a war?" That seemed odd, because those sorts of things were usually announced on the news, and she was pretty sure she had never seen any announcements of war on the news lately. Tilting her had and placing a sleeve beneath her own chin as she thought, she tried to work out the other aspects that had been mentioned.
"So what's this chaos stuff? Why would we both be dead? I don't get it!" Puffing her cheeks up for a pout, she crossed her arms, waiting for an explanation.

Galena huffed, as if inconvenienced by her own side's slacking in being appropriately, obviously menacing. "There's the Negaverse, us, with these military type uniforms and big scary monsters and the creepy auras. Don't you feel it? The big cloud of dark feelings that follows me wherever?"
She gingerly reached for Antiope's exposed hand, holding it tightly in both of hers. "The Negaverse are bad guys, Anti... and they don't like senshi at all, unless they join up."

Though Galena held her hand tightly, Antiope's hand was quite slack at the moment. "I.... think Minny might have mentioned something about monsters. I dunno, I haven't seen any yet!"
When the captain inquired if she could feel a creepy aura, Antiope squinted for a moment, as if to concentrate. After an awkward full minute of her squinting at the captain, she eventually unscrunched her features and shook her head.
"...I don't feel anything but you holding my hand, Gal!" Which wasn't a bad thing. With all this uncertainty she was feeling about the subject, Antiope's fingers finally curled within Galena's hand.
In an uncertain tone, the shorter of the pair asked "What does it mean to 'join up?'"

Galena's brow furrowed. Was she oblivious to auras? No wonder she'd been so trusting when they first ran into each other.
"Yes... They also attacked a party-- A ball-- On New Years. They took a few senshi and knights and tortured them for days."
She cringed.
"Mintaka was one of them."
She lightly squeezed Antiope's hand. "It means you'd be corrupted. A general sovereign would stick their hand in our chest and pump Chaos into your starseed. You'd need a new name, a new identity, and you wouldn't be able to come back here to this place ever again."
She glanced to the left. "Alternatively, I could leave, and become a knight. But they'd just hunt me down and drag me back. I'd have to give up everything, including half of my memories."

"The Masquerade?" Antiope, or rather, Jun had been there. However, she didn't notice anything too strange that evening. Perhaps it had something to do with the fact she chased after a Starcat she has spotted.
"Right! I thought I saw you there, but I wasn't sure!" For a moment, she seemed to vacantly smile until another piece of the puzzle clicked into place.
Wait... Minny got tortured?!
The Mantis senshi had no idea, but that was because Minny never mentioned anything of the sort. Maybe it hadn't bothered Minny that much? Maybe Minny hadn't really been tortured and was just captured?
Puzzling over this subject made it very difficult to focus in on the other subject being presented. However, about a third the way in, Antiope's ears started to listen to the new explanation.
"...a new name... and I couldn't come back here?"
She pulled away from Galena's hand, but not hard enough to escape her grasp as she turned to the falls, pouring constantly down in all its glory. This place, in such a short time, had become so important to her. It was a sort of sanctuary away from her mundane life. It was gorgeous and the history as an Amazonian society was too important to just lose.
"I like option #2 better..."
It took her a moment to realize that there needed to be more explanation to it than that.
"Not you getting hunted down and giving up everything... but...I could totally protect you, Gal! What kind of teacher would I be if I didn't look after my student?!"

Galena seemed to shut down. Her hands released Antiope and hung limply at her sides, and her face, for all appearances, just seemed dead.
After a long moment, the forced ends of a smile surfaced.
"Of course," She said. It was probably best to leave it at that for now. Galena had been asking some questions about it. Careful questions, given how treasonous they were. She wasn't convinced it was an option, and Antiope was still a basic senshi, ignorant about how the world worked.
For now it was probably best to let her indulge in that small fantasy she could, and everything would be okay.

Most normal people would have immediately noticed Galena's reaction. How she seemed to completely withdraw emotionally at the notion of losing her memories.
However, Antiope was not nearly so observant. All she noticed as her hand was loose again. She took that as a sign to move on.
"Aaaaaanyways...Let's move back towards civilization. I am just dying to show off the Royal Bathhouse! There are even hot springs! We can pamper you something nice!"
She trotted back to her gym bag and slung it back over her shoulder again. With that she moved forward, only pausing once she was already clearly leading the way.
"You ready?"

"Yeah," Galena answered, still sounding kind of monotone and dazed. She managed to will herself into taking a few steps to catch up. "Let's go."
