"I only judge people if I know it would make them feel bad," the girl struck back with a mischievous grin. In other words, she had informed Chance that she won't judge him. "Get used to it huh?" It wasn't a question, but an answer itself.

She had been called a monster, a demon or a shameless witch, she asked why at first, hoping they would change their minds. Gradually, she learned to let it go, if they thought she was, then she would let them be. They were of no importance to her, so the pains turned numb. Except when the one she loved called her that, her words drilled a never healing hole onto her heart. Like every wound, it hurt so much initially, then the pain sank, she had get used to it. Now, she would accept that, the insults, the blame and all those awful opinion about her.

Stars and space, that reminded her of someone, an intelligent lady. "That's why you get the tattoo?' She circled around her eyes with her finger. "It's a nice one. Is it a certain Constellation? Why do they attract you so much?" It was always great to hear people talking about the reasons they like something. She'd lost all the emotions after the second strike and felt it struggling to put expressions on her face. Sometimes she wished she was the carefree cheerful and naive girl that able to feel so deeply for everything but wish was just a wish.

"Then you won't be able to judge me very well," said Chance with an easy laugh. "Because it's very, very hard to make me feel bad. I don't easily get offended or upset. Life is what it is, there isn't a use getting worked up over something that has no bearing on the long run of things."

He scratched his chin thoughtfully, long, black-painted fingers against the side of his face. A smile, this one much more casual than his usual smirks, spread across his lips.

"Yes," he said. "I have several, actually. There's the one on my face, of course - " he gestured to it, Chance brushing his hand through his hair to push it aside so that the girl could see it better. "This one isn't particularly anything but stars, I just liked how it looked."

He dropped his hand and, without shame, tugged his shirt up so that she would be able to see the tattoos on his torso. A delicate, simple constellation across one side of his ribs, and a much more intricate and detailed one on the other side.

"The one on the left is the constellation Draco, because I like dragons," said Chance lightly. "The one on the right is just a random constellation that I found appealing, the stars are inked over a few of my scars to form their own constellation."

He let out a hum of thought and said, "I like them because they're far away. There's no drama to them. They make me feel small and large all at once, if that makes sense."

Keep on living, how beautiful the three words rolled on the tongue. While she asked a question, the words rang in her mind repeatedly.

She wished she could be as vigorous as that boy, her life was just a pool of dead water. They said that to her too, and the words turned into chains that made her stay. 言靈 - it was a word meaning the power of language, people believed that there were magics or mysterious power in the words you say. When you said it with intensity, it can affect people. That's why sometimes it can hurt a soul.

In her case, the words of hope and wish of her sisters transformed into fetters of her soul. She was deprived of the freedom of death. She loved them so she complied, she became a hunter and tried to start a new life. It didn't work so well, there was nobody who she would hesitate for before she attempted.

The colors of blue turned deeper as the girl closed the distance between them to look at the tiny stars, might be she count them when she squinted her eyes like a feline. If he didn't mind, she won't mind seeing it. It wasn't the first time she saw a naked male torso. The fingers slightly shorter than Chance's glided through a bit of the line, leaving a trace of tickling sensation. "You're surely a nice canvas," She teased, "I haven't heard someone not liking dragons so far, is your weapon a dragon then?" Of course she knew how small the chance it would be, it naturally rolled off her tongue.

"I can understand that, because you don't know, you can imagine it, giving it a definition based on your impression." From his words and what he liked, she would see how a person the guy was. He would find meaning for his life, in order to continue shining. "Have you heard that the saying people would become stars after they die? It was mostly used by adults to comfort kids for their early loss. That's not my point, if each of us was a star, Chance, have you found your constellation yet?" Constellation, in the sense of asterism or the area surrounding it was made up of stars.

Her star was once part of a constellation, but the other stars dimmed or fallen and she was alone by herself.

He didn't seem bothered by the closeness, nor did he seem uncomfortable with how she reached out to touch his tattoos. Her fingers were light as they trailed over his skin, and they tickled a little, a flicker of a smile crossing Chance's face.

"Thank you," he said, mildly amused. "I appreciate the compliment. And no, my weapon is an ice demon, as a matter of fact. They say hello, by the way," Chance added, as Asher hummed in agreement and pleasure, a soft sensation of cold filling Chance's mind before ebbing away again.

"I have heard that, yes," came the answer. "I would like to believe it's true; becoming a star certainly seems more appealing than rotting in the ground, after all."

Chance leaned back on his hands again, relaxed and at ease.

"Found yours yet?"

The hoodie girl giggled, slightly curled her fingers in a lazy way. "Hello there. Mine is elemental as well, perhaps, it seems to be a secret for them." She shrugged. "Maybe," she barked a laugh, "Being a complete realist can be so pathetic."

She fiddled something in her pocket and tossed into mouth, popping a bubble and let i burst. "Hey, that's my question. Yes, it's your turn to ask but - alright, I'll answer that." She rolled her blue eyes and swung her metallic blue high top sneakers. "Once I found it, then I lost it forever. All stars but me had fallen." She said it without much emotions, and even a smile was on her face. She turned to look at him, "That's why I'm trying to find new ones before I fall as well, isn't that dreamy?"

She turned her head to another side, eyes half closed, "How about you?" She popped another bubble, a bit of pink mixed with baby blue, the color faded as the bubble grew bigger.

Sorry for the lateness, have something to deal with and that affected my emotions greatly. It seems settled down now, I hope, but maybe on and off again

"Pathetic is a term reserved for only the worst of humans, I think," said Chance mildly, watching the girl with a sort of curiosity. She was still so very hard to figure out; he couldn't quite get a handle on her personality, not like he could others.

"You'll hopefully find what you're looking for," said Chance, tugging on a black curl. "I suppose we all lose ourselves every once in a while."

Lost in thought, he almost didn't hear the question returned to him, Chance sliding his gaze back to her.

"Depends on the definition of constellation, I think," he said.

She gave him a side glance, "If not, why do you think I use that word. Or it would be better if I replaced it with pitiful?" She smiled at his inquiry for explanation, it was purposeful, when she used a lot of metaphors. She enjoyed it, to confuse people or making it a mystery, if they cared.

Thus, she mildly hinted, pointing at Chance. 'Constellation refers to a group or an area of stars, if you were a star and everyone also a star, then -" She didn't finish it because she knew a smart guy like him would get it. "How do you define the stars in your constellation is another matter." As she won't know, her constellation was her and her siblings, who were all gone or in coma.

Thus she was lost.

He knew the generalized definition of a constellation, not necessarily this girl's own personal definition. Chance idly drew circles on the back of his hand and tilted his head a little as he scrutinized her, wondering what she was going on about.

"I suppose that's true," he said unhelpfully, flashing her a smile.

"I define myself as my own constellation, but we shall see how that changes as life goes on."

She supported her head with her hands when she popped the bubble, looking at Chance with a small smile.

"Would you say your constellation is shinning brightly now?" Almost half of her eyelids covered the blue as she asked.

He contemplated this question, his thoughts drifting to everything that had happened to him over the course of the island so far.

"I'd say so, yes," said Chance with a smile.

"Hmm......." It was hard to tell if she was pouting when she made the musing sounds. Petty actions can be infectious, the girl seemed to thinking something curled her finger around her black hair curved outward as she leaned backward. They are after all different. She might be disappointed but it wasn't easy to tell from her expressions.

The hand dropped landed on the book, and she touched it with a cherishing attitude. "Hmm, treasure the stars around you, Chance, as nothing is permanent. Let's talk about another thing: Which character you will say you're from this book?" She stood it vertically, a square storybook man made, it felt old but preserved well.

"A fair point," agreed Chance. "I do like to think that I have some sort of passion and affinity for the stars, which is why I like the comparison. But you're perhaps right, things aren't necessarily as permanent as we like to think they are."

Unless you make them, said a small voice in his head, and he smiled, glancing down at the book in the girl's hands.

"What book is it?"

She smiled satisfied for the consensus they rarely achieve, but his question made her eyebrow raised. "Do you have short-sighted problem?" She shoved the book onto his face, then kinda past it to him. "It's so obvious." The girl frowned slightly had her arms crossed.

"The same book I was reading," she explained. "Isn't it lovely?"

He rolled his eyes good-naturedly.

"It is a very lovely book, yes," said Chance. "How about you tell me yourself what character you think I'd be?"

Shrewd guy.

She huffed in mind, but game rules are rules. "I can be Alice if I wanted to have an adventure, I could be the Cheshire Cat that confuses people, I kinda enjoy that. I might be the queen with murder thoughts or the white rabbit keeping a promise. If I really had to pick one....I should be the Cheshire Cat? Appear and vanish as I like."

She didn't get the book back because she wanted to know his answer. "Can't cheat, it's your turn to answer and my question doesn't change." She chewed the tasteless gum as if she was anxious.
