Hafwen arched a brow at Darren's reaction to her words. "It's just a few years tops the way I see it and still within what's acceptable by society. AKA it's not in ****** territory." He seemed genuinely put off, irked even by the idea itself so brownie points to him for that even though she followed up shortly by nitpicking at his sort of apology. "I don't see how your home situation would have helped though unless your family is secretly your private harem."

She had been about to let a smile slip at her own joke when the truth suddenly was out as to why Harmonia knew that he was both Darren and Corinth. "You didn't say..." She should have known that things weren't as simple as that on that particular night, but she chose not to pursue it then given Darren's close shave with death. Maybe she should have known better. Gazing deep into his eyes, she frowned.

"I don't want that - I know that much at least. It's just that I... don't know how I'm supposed to handle this either."

"You could... trust me to do what's right?" Darren offered weakly. Shaking his head slowly he sighed. "I mean... Hafwen... I love you." He looked at her then, watching her with quiet, begging eyes.

"I don't want anyone else but you. Nobody." He said flatly. "I don't think that's ever going to change. But... I mean..." he sighed. This was going awfully and he didn't know what to even say.

"I'm willing to give up everything to make you happy - it doesn't matter to me. Right or not right. I don't care." He watched her. "As long as I have you, nothing else matters..."

"I'll try..." Hafwen averted her gaze then, still very mindful of the amount of pain that she was going to be in for if she so much as tried to roll over in order to put some distance between Darren and herself. Remaining where she was, she rubbed her face with both her hands and simply sighed. "I love you too Darren..." Looking at him again, at the look that he gave her after everything she had put him through because she clearly had issues with this trust thing, she found herself having to look away again.

"I'm not trying to give any excuses for my behaviour here but... this all is new to me and I've... never had to trust or rely on anyone other than myself all this while." Her voice was soft as she spoke, her hand quivering as she stretched it out to seek one of his own, her gaze still lowered so that she wouldn't have to see how he was taking all this. "Not even Hywel." She figured that it was only right that he knew. Darren had earned that right at least even if talking about herself made her feel all the more vulnerable and exposed.

Darren squeezed her hand, and then, with a small sigh, he kicked his shoes off and slide into bed behind her. his arms moving gently to wrap her up and pull her into his chest. He cradled her gently against him, letting her feel the warmth of his body against her own.

"I know it's new, this is new for both of us." He said gently. "But we'll make it through together - okay? I love you." He kissed the top of her head super gently.

"And I'm going to stay with you till you fall asleep."

Hafwen finally looked up when she felt Darren's hand tighten briefly around hers. When she saw him kicking off his shoes, she blinked, a puzzled expression crossing her face then until it eventually became clear to her what was his intent. Letting him pull her close to his warmth, she rested a hand on his forearm, innately glad for the fact that she could hide the tell-tale flush of her face given that her back was now to him. "Okay. Thanks... for staying."

Settling against him, she gave his forearm a squeeze to acknowledge the kiss that was pressed to the top of her head. "I love you too Darren." Though it wasn't exactly the same, that would have to do. For now.
