Asher was desummoned in a gust of cold air, the bow reappearing a second later as a small, silver and blue snowflake pin against Chance's shirt. He ran a hand through his curls, sending them springing everywhere, and gave Dawson a light smile that bordered on sheepish.
"You may have a point," he admitted. "At the whole..." He waved a hand. "Adult thing. I sometimes forget that fact."
And the fact that he was no longer in Detroit, he was no longer in a place where he just drifted through life, doing what was required of him, fulfilling things without a particular purpose. The world was around him, but he had never really felt a part of it - until now, when he had discovered that there were people that he liked being around more than once, more than just a casual lay.
He blinked at Dawson, fiddling with his totem.
"That's because," said Chance slowly, trying to figure it out. "Like I said, you're easy to talk to. I feel comfortable around you, and I've never been one to like, I guess...really hide things."
Another first, since he was starting to do that as well. Chance's smile was less sheepish this time and more genuine.
"You really are a good guy, Dawson Grace."medigel NO ONE SAW ME ACCIDENTALLY QUOTE SOMEONE ELSE...

He opened his mouth--presumably to say either no wait I can still keep going or why yes I am a great guy thank you sir--but then he just puffed out a sigh and let his shield desummon into the necklace of teeth instead. "I got a way--like that, yeah," Dawson boasted weakly, bent over and with his hands on his knees as he caught his breath. "Weird part's people actin' like--tha's somethin' new."
But comfortable was good, and he felt a swell of pride in himself. The mood here seemed to be a lot of people checking off their own personal list, so if he could offer an alternative, well, all the better, right?
After a few more seconds, Dawson hoisted himself up and aired his hat, still smiling a little. "Any a'that help at all, or ya wanna crack open a cold one n' keep goin'?" he asked.

"It's not necessarily that it's new," said Chance thoughtfully, and gave Dawson a slight smile. "It's more that I'm just not used to it myself. The whole...friend thing. So I sometimes find myself surprised when people remind me that they exist in a different way then I know how to perceive."
He took a few steps towards Dawson and patted his shoulder reassuringly.
"Thanks," said Chance, and he sounded sincere as he added, "For, you know. Talking to me in s**t. I think it helped."
He smiled, and then added, "I'm always a fan of getting a cold one, as you said, so I think that's a fine option, if you're up for it? Doesn't have to be anything serious, maybe we can just have a drink to celebrate still being here or something."
His hand slid away from Dawson's shoulder so that Chance could stick it in his pocket.
"Now that we've spent all this time talking about me, how have you been? Anything exciting happen, Shaggy?"
