Oliver had no sooner gotten to his feet when he was charged by another large statue. This one had more pokey things on it's head.

Finn had barely stepped away from the wall when he was also attacked by a thing with many pokey things on it's head. This time, however, he was not so lucky as to just be battered against a wall.

Somehow, someway, Finn had managed to convince Oliver to come back a second time. They were going to get through this if it killed him again and again and again.

Oliver wasn't sure how Finn had managed to drag him back. This time he was even more shaky and neurotic, but somehow the promise of additional candy was enough to keep his feet going.

Again they passed through the entrance without any trouble, which wasn't so surprising since that's exactly how things started out the first time.
He knew the trouble all lay ahead.

Oliver didn't have it in him for another charge straight across the pond, his ankle got caught in a thick pocket of tendrils, and after all his struggling he wheezed when he finally made it back to the dry ground.

Finn honestly missed the feel of a tentacle on his ankle. Honestly. Truly. Oh also the part where he got flung like a rag doll was really fun too.

Thankfully Oliver didn't get dragged under and drowned, just tossed back to shore yet again. Or perhaps that wasn't such a good thing. If he stopped struggling, at least Finn could find himself a competent partner.

It probably somehow made Finn feel better about himself to have such an incompetent partner with him on this journey. In fact, maybe that was why he hung out with Oliver at all. Not that he could feel good about himself at all when he was getting his a** kicked by water. Stamina: 14

The next time Oliver summoned up enough courage to try and cross the lake, he almost drowned trying to get free. By the time he arrived back at the shore the boy was little more than a sad, soggy lump on the marble floor. Stam: -1

Finn at least made sure Oliver wasn't actually dead before leaving him to try again. He also assured him he'd come back for him later.
Later wasn't really long enough for Finns liking as he landed right next to the other man.
