If only her first attack connected! And if only she had provided more aid for Marcy. She thought she was prepared, but she was sorely mistaken. Surely there must be something she could do?
"If you're sure... just be careful!"
She turned around to attack. There was nothing TO do but attack... and hope they'd get lucky.

If only there were some way... Oh! Marcy had a flash of memory, and then pulled a cute bit of napkin from her pocket. Not her nice cloth napkin, but a cute little paper one she'd kept cause it was pretty.
The butterflies had inspired her. If she could make the little paper crane right... well. She knew it might be able to help her out here.

Seeing Marcy with some protection put her at ease, and she smiled.
"Nice work!"
Now if only she could do her part too...
With the cranes acting as a shield for the ghoul, Mia was able to divert some of her butterflies for a stronger attack, grinning when the creature stumbled back, though not before striking back at her first.

"Thanks!" Marcy was quite proud of her work.
The little crane fluttered around her, between her and the monster. Like a little helpful friend.
Still. She was a little bit afraid to get too close. What if it crushed her little crane?

Mia saw Marcy's hesitation, and offered her a comforting smile.
"Don't worry, I can handle this."
She turned around and gave the creature a smack, wincing as it retaliated.

"I know, Mia! But I want to help!" There was only so much watching she could do. Poor Mia was standing there getting his by the creature.
So Marcy, finally finding some sort of opening (or thinking she did) jumped in to kick the creature. It retaliated, but luckily her little crane swooped by just in time to help lessen the blow.

Mia knew she was probably being a little over-protective, but she couldn't but be worried. It was her responsibility to make sure things were running smoothly, and while they weren't exactly losing right now, they weren't exactly in an extremely favourable outcome either. Right now, this could go either way, though she had no intention of losing. Her pride and reputation would not allow so.
"If you're sure, sweetie, but if things start getting dangerous, please promise me you'll run."
Not that there was anywhere TO run, but she sincerely hoped it wouldn't come to that.

Even with both their efforts combined, the monster was still standing.
If she botched up this heal, they were done for.
Focus... focus...
Mia closed her eyes and concentrated. Instead of summoning more, she tried to absorb some of the butterflies to replenish her fear.
Forgive her, lovelies, she would bring you back later. For now, momma needed a bit more energy.
It seemed to be working, and not realizing she was holding her breath, she exhaled with relief.
"Thank you, Marcy, I'll take it from here."

Marcy blinked as some of the butterflies disappeared. She looked to Mia. Oh! She seemed....to be concentrating. Fear manipulation? Probably.
"Are you sure?" Even as she asked she stepped back. Mia was older and far more experienced. She knew what she was doing. Marcy just had to trust her.

"Yes, don't worry hun. I promise I'll get us out of here."
With her fear slightly replenished, it gave her a bit more leeway in case she slipped up, but if worse came to worse...
Well, hopefully it wouldn't come to that.
Of course, with less butterflies, it meant her attack wouldn't hit as hard, but she had to conserve her energy.

Marcy made a sound in the back of her throat. Something like a hmm with a little bit of worry tossed in. She trusted Mia to know what was best, but the monster was still big and trying to get at them.
"O- Okay!" You trusted your friends, especially when they knew better than you.
Marcy took a moment to pick up her fallen crane. Poor little thing, all weak and drained. Hopefully...the girls wouldn't end up like it.

Mia took a deep breath, focusing on the creature.
Just a bit more, she told herself. Just a bit more.
Throwing caution to the wind, Mia re-summoned her butterflies, striking the creature hard.

"Thank you, thank you~"
It wasn't enough to take it completely down, but enough to render it pretty much harmless. She took the opportunity to tend to Marcy.
"I shouldn't have ALL the fun though. It's not a lot, but I do still have a bit of fear left to patch you up a little."
