The sudden movement threw him off and now being pinned under her questioned what was going to happen. Did this mean she only thought of him as a partner and all the touch was due to her racial upbringing and if so was he just friendzoned? He was confused as he looked up at her. The dim light radiated with her and he pulled himself to rest on his elbows instead of on his back.
"So us being partners... What does that mean? Or is your term partner different?" He asks trying to take in all this information "Lastly what does this position mean."

"Partners are our mates, we are matched through different systems. I met mine by chance when we were young. We were match due to our powers and ability to work together." She smiled down at Mark, it made her laugh seeing him confused. It made her feel less alone again.
"When we become partners I used your English term of teammates. You humans start relationships much slower than we did. I assumed you didn't mean to mate with me. Lastly our position is the one my last partner would have experienced. Though it is not as close as partners much older who would proceed to the mating."
"My people no longer exist though Mark...I am the last of my people. My partner gave his life for mine." She slowly got off him and returned her arms around him. "I don't know how to continue from here. I don't know how humans continue from here."

Mark listened to her and let her wrap herself around him again. He couldn't really relate to her all that much and didn't know how sad she probably was inside. Stroking her back he placed his forehead against hers looking her in the eyes. "I know it is probably tough, and I know I cannot relate to what you are feeling right now, but pain brings out the strength in us and if you can overcome it, then you will be a better woman."
It became silence after that for a few moments and with a heavy sigh he spoke again. "Look, I am your partner and I will be here if you need anything ok. Just let me know and I will try and help. The best you can really do is start anew, here on Earth, make this place your home."

"How can you have a home when no one here loves you...I'm...different from all you people. I've read the history books, how people like me have fought for equality...they never got it...so they left."
Would they look at her that way once they saw what she was. Would Mark leave her. She hoped not, who else would buy her pancakes. "Tell me, how do humans show these types of...relations."

"Well you have to find those people who love you and you may be different, but you are already my friend and I am sure you could easily make more if you try. Like those women you hang out with, but better. It may take time sure, but there are those out there who will accept you for who you are like I have." He says stroking her cheek.

"Do you not love me?" She asked placing her hand over his. Shadow look at him for several seconds before pressing her lips to his. Unsure why she did, but she wanted to ease this nagging in her mind that it wouldn't be what she thought it would be.
And she was right.
It was better. Which caused her to pin him down again, before realizing what she was doing. Pulling back with wide eyes she stared at him for several seconds. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to...I'm so sorry."
Panic filled her as she moved back. Why had she done that, this was Aleria. This wasn't home. "I'm so sorry Mark, I shouldn't have done that I'm so sorry."

Mark had started to think of what to say as to her question, but her touch made it hard to concentrate in the first place and after a couple of seconds before he could speak she had placed her lips on to his.
The kiss immediately sent a warm sensation through his body coupling the confusion that came with it. After she had released the kiss he opened his mouth to attempt to say something, but she had pinned him down as though something had taken over her. It felt blissful and he even near the end pushed into it a bit trying to kiss back.
In the end she backed away immediately and started apologizing which confused him even more. She was one big conundrum that he couldn't figure out. "It's ok.. I.. I liked it." He says smiling and leaning up to be at eye level with her.

"You...liked it?" She sat looking completely deflated. Confusion sat back in, she couldn't do this. Her mind didn't understand this world. "Kissing means something more here does it not?" She was desperate to understand, but he didn't know her language. Ceil was grasping at straws here.
Her head hurt now. "Can we go back to laying down...I don't feel so good." She moved into his arms hold against him tightly. "You make me feel safe." She repeated, "Maybe if you like I'll kiss you in exchange for pancakes? That's how it works in a way?" She had seen people thanking others with kisses, maybe it was as start. "Tomorrow you can teach me how humans work."

Mark held her and layed back down with her, grabbing a cover, and threw it over them. It was kind of like a dream and he didn't no how long it would last or what all of this really meant, but he would try and figure it out as they went.
Now laying next to her he spoke trying to remove some confusion. "Kissing doesn't really work in trades. I will still make you pancakes, but kissing has to be voluntary. Also I like kissing, I am sure all humans do and that is why we save it for loved ones... Does that help?" He asks closing his eyes a bit.

"You save it from loved one?" She asked resting her head against his chest. She was his friend, but Ceil didn't think he loved her. It confused her to feel disappointed. Not wanting to enjoy their kiss, but she had. It was nicer than it had been with Blaris, and that bothered her slightly. She wondered how it would feel with someone that 'loved' her.
"I guess it helps..." She moved closer to him, hoping the the contact would help her understand these things. "Thank you for being my friend Mark." Knowing that he was her friend though made her feel better. Maybe he would help her find someone that loved her, though she was sad that Mark didn't love her. What was love anyway? They didn't have that term back home, she'd have to ask him later.
With those thoughts drifting through her head she fell asleep. Happy and warm in Mark's embrace. She didn't know if he'd still be there in the morning, but she hoped her would be.

It was now morning and the smell of pancakes wafted through the air, along with a few other items he made to see if Ceil would like them or not. He was at this point confident in his cooking methods, but every time she said no, or preferred pancakes it discouraged him little by little. He was almost done making breakfast and was done setting the table.
He had already showered, changed cloths, and cleaned his armor this morning. He was in a good mood today and it could be seen on his face. He only now had to wait for Ceil to come out of her room to grab some grub. Turning off the stove he flipped a pancake and tossed in onto the others.

When Ceil awoke to an empty bed and a heavy head she realized something was wrong. Slowly she made he way to the kitchen still wearing her flashy clothing from last night. Peaking into the kitchen at Mark who was cooking away. She wasn't sure of last night had meant anything to him...it had meant so much to her.
Silently she walked behind him and wrapped her arms around him. Her head pounded and the sun was to much for her, but she didn't know why. Perhaps she had been poisoned like her friends warned her about. "Why did you leave the bed?" She asked never realizing her was taller than her. "You didn't have to sleep with me if you didn't want to..."
She didn't wait for him to push her away to let her arms fall to her sides. He had enjoyed he kiss, but he hadn't enjoyed kissing her. That notion still continued through her thoughts.
"Earth relationships confused me..." She was clearly hunger over still, not that she knew what that was. All she knew was a pounding in her head and an ache in her heart.
"Are we just friends and teammates or..." Shadow wanted to be clear, she wanted to understand. "Will you show me? I don't understand your language...please."

Mark felt her wrap her arms around his waist and blushed slightly. "I left to make us breakfast, one of us had to and you said you wanted fancy pancakes today remember?" He said with a smile and turned around to look at her when she put her arms to her side. He was glad to see her out of bed and moving around even if she was still in cloths from last night and looked like she was having a hangover.
"That alcohol gives a bad hangover doesn't it? Also I slept with you because I wanted to so don't worry about it." He says trying to reassure her, but when she asked if they were only friends or teamates and not more he wanted to know himself. He doubted any explanation he gave would have helped her any so he grabbed ahold of her hands and leaned in to her face blushing. "... Does this help?" He asked kissing her softly.

"Yes." She murmured as a stupidly bright smile crossed her face, especially for someone who removed light. Freeing her hands she held him tightly. "Thank you." She murmured as she nuzzled his neck before reaching up and kissing his forehead. "I'll be back." With that she stumbled off to get ready for the day.
A shower and a change of clothes always made her feel much better, the pounding in her head refused to leave, but she didn't mind as much now. Sneaking into the kitchen with the clothes Lady Diana had told her were meant for working out. She enjoyed them for the extra skin they showed. It was the closest thing that she had worn back home.
"You mentioned pancakes?" She asked sneaking behind him again. Pancakes would probably be her downfall, but she loved them. "You know...in a way...your like my person pancake."

After she left he placed everything ready to eat and stay warm while she got ready and then with a sigh he sat into his seat with almost no energy left. It was as though she took the breath out of him and he was too happy right now as he didn't know if she would respond well to that.
She returned in very revealing cloths for a morning breakfast and he mentally enjoyed it. "You look very good and I am your person pancake?" He says glad as it was the closest thing to love in a way. It was still a bit early in their relationship if this was actual love but it felt very real to Mark.
"Well just don't try and eat me and I think we will be fine... Though a taste every now and again isn't a bad idea." He says placing a thumb on her lips for a second or so.
