"About as long as you did." Ipswich answered, relieved to see her mother up and about again, it was always nerve wracking to watch her mother collapse after healing someone with her magic and Ipswich wasn't sure that she would ever get used to seeing it, even if she logically knew that her mother would be fine.
"Are you hungry? Do you want me to go and fetch more water?" She offered, eager to do something helpful after standing watch and feeling so helpless for so long "I think there is time for me to go and get back again before it gets to dark." She pointed out, if she left now she would even have time to look at that pathway out she had found earlier.

Aquitaine nodded. She was glad to hear that Prism had slept for a decent amount of time so far. With all the injuries he had sustained he would need plenty of rest to recover, but that was only part of it. He would need to gain back his strength, especially with his broken leg. Turning to her daughter she nodded once more. "Food and water would be good. Prism will need some as well." She needed to eat to help regain her strength from healing him. It had been several hours since she last ate, but it was likely much longer for Prism. "Make sure you eat and drink as well. We will likely be here for a few days taking care of Prism before he can move himself." It all depended on how much healing his leg had received from her powers and if any of his other legs were broken as well.
"Go, but be safe. If it gets too dark turn around." She could not afford to have Ipswich get injured as well just to see if the path was viable. Turning her attention back to Prism, she watched the stallion. She would need to apply a fresh batch of healing paste at some point. But she would wait until he was awake again before applying it. Then, she would need to check his other legs.

Ipswich nodded to he mother "I will." She assured her,. the last thing she wanted to do was get injured herself, one wounded Soquili was enough for her mother to keep track of for the moment. Fetching the turtle shell one more she handed it up to her snake before trotting back down the ravine, she would look over the pathway first and then collect the food and water for her mother and the wounded stallion.
Aware of the fading light Ipswich went as quickly as possible, anxious to see if the way out she had discovered was indeed viable. It wasn't long before she reached the collapsed ravine wall and picked her way closer..it certainly looked like an easier way up then the tiny pathway she and her mother had used but the footing was loose and might be difficult for a Soquili with only three good legs..perhaps if she and her mother supported him from behind they could stop him from sliding down, in any case it looked to be the only way out for quite some distance and Ipswich was sure that they could make it work if they were careful about it. Satisfied that it would work she went to the pond and collected the water, stopping to drink herself before gathering some grass bundles to carry back to the others. It was a lot to carry but if it wasn't enough well - she could watch Prism while her mother took a turn eating if need be. Having gathered all that she could carry she started back.

Prism slowly opened his eyes. He was a bit surprised Aquitaine was up, though he had no idea how long she would be down for after healing him. The pain was starting to return a bit, but he noticed that his leg hurt a lot less than before. Obviously whatever healing Aquitaine had done to his leg had been quite effective. He wasn't sure if he would be standing anytime soon, but it was so good to have a little less intense pain in his life. Lifting his head he looked at the mare. "My leg feels better." He told her.
As the stallion roused Aquitaine focused her attention on him. When she heard him speak of his leg she couldn't help but smile. "That is good, it means that the healing worked, though I will need to check it to see just how much of the break remains unhealed." She paused for a moment. "Do you think you can roll onto your side? I need to check your other legs for injuries." Aquitaine could only hope that none of them were broken, but if they were she would be here until they were healed and he could move again.
"I think I can." He wasn't looking forward to this, but he understood the importance of having his other legs checked. With a grunt he tried to shift his weight. The movement pulled at his cuts and he cringed. With a bit more grunting and determination, Prism was able to roll onto his side. His legs hurt, and then had this painful tingling sensation to them, but that could be from being laid on for so long.
Aquitaine watched carefully as he rolled over. She looked for any signs that he was pushing his battered body to far, or that the movement was going to rip open his cuts again. But luck was on their side and he managed to roll over with little pain showing. Stepping closer Aquitaine went to inspect his legs. "This will work like the time I checked your other leg. Let me know if one area is too painful." She began with his other front leg and began prodding it with her nose. No cry of pain came from the stallion, which was a good sign. She repeated the process on his back two legs and was satisfied that none were broken. "You have quite a bit of bruising and a few cuts I need to put some salve on, but I don't feel any other broken bones." This was definitely a very good sign.
"I'm going to check your broken leg now. I need to judge how much healing happened." This would determine his rate of recovery and how long they would be here in the ravine. Moving over to the leg she began to prod at it with her nose in the area where the break had occurred. She saw Prism cringe slightly as she pressed against the area that had made him cry out last time, but he did not bellow in pain this time. Slowly she began to move the leg, trying to feel if the bones were fused together or still separated. The leg felt solid, though she was certain that if he stood now it may very well undo the healing she had done. "A few days of rest and you may be able to get up and do a bit of walking." He would need to be careful with it at first, but with some strengthening herbs the process would be fairly fast. "Ipswich should be back soon, she will be bringing us some water and food." They both needed to eat and drink, but Prism more so.

The trip back took just as long this time as it had the last time but at least this time she was going back with more then just water - she had some good news as well. Coming into sight of her mother and Prism she was pleased to see that her mother's legs looked steadier and that Prism was once more awake, by the looks of things they were checking his other legs...Ipswich found herself hoping that his other legs were okay, she didn't want to see her mother go through healing any more breaks for quite a while and waiting for her magic to recharge and her to recover after healing more injuries would keep them down here a good while longer.
"How does her look?" She asked her mother as she finally reached them, retrieving the turtle shell from Ebony and setting it down carefully before dropping the grass bundles she had managed to collect. "I have some good news, I think I fond a way out, the footing is a bit loose so we might have to help Prism to keep him from sliding backwards if he only has the use of three legs but I think we can do it once he's healed up a bit more."

Prism couldn't help but blow out a sigh of relief upon hearing the he had no other broken bones. Somehow he had been extremely lucky when landing in the ravine and only broke one leg. It could have been so much worse, and while he had initially wished for death now he was wanting to live again. He didn't care if it would take a few days before he was on his hooves again, just hearing that he would likely be walking soon made him happy enough.
Seeing Ipswich return Prism smiled. But seeing the mother and daughter together reminded him of his lost basket, and his smile faded. He needed to regain his strength so he could find it again, and he would do that when he was able to get out of this ravine. Carefully rolling back onto his belly Prism reached out and took a drink, then turned his attention to the grass Ipswich had brought. He was starving and he didn't need to be told to eat, he just did it.
"No other broken bones." She told her daughter. "A few cuts that need treating later. His broken leg seems to have healed quite a bit, but I want to keep him off of it for a few days to ensure it's strong enough to support some weight." The last thing she wanted to do was rush him into standing, breaking the leg again and then had to wait for her powers to fully charge before fixing it again. Hearing the news about the path Ipswich had found the mare nodded. "He will likely need help walking at first anyways. As long as the path is solid enough we should be able to get him out of here in a few days.
She turned her attention to Prism for a moment, glad to see he was eating. She also bend her head and took a drink before turning her attention to a pile of grass. At least there was a bit of food and water to tie them over until the got out. After a few bites of grass Aquitaine looked up at her daughter again. "You should get some rest. It will be dark soon and we will be here for a while. I'll stay up and watch over Prism for a while." If she got too tired she would just watch Ipswich up and they could take turns watching over the stallion.

"That's great!" Ipswich replied enthusiastically as she heard that Prism had nos sustained any further injuries, it mean they could leave this ravine sooner rather then later, which would be nice - she found the place just a bit to closed in for her liking, the beach with its wide open expanses was just so much nicer.
Nodding slightly IPswich stifled a yawn as her mother mentioned getting some rest, it had been a long and somewhat stressful day - a bit of sleep would be more then welcome and she expected that tomorrow she would need to take several trips to and from the water hole. Things would be busy but between she and her mother she was sure that they would be able to get Prism up and about again. Walking off a bit where she would be out of the way but still close buy Ipswich lay down on the clay floor of the ravine, Ebony coiling up beside her as she fell asleep.

Aquitaine watched as her daughter moved off a short way and then turned her attention back to Prism. "Let me check these cuts to see if they need a fresh batch of salve, and then I will put some on your other legs." Aquitaine stepped close to the stallion once more and using her nose carefully lifted up the leaves. Inspecting each gash, she found that the salve was good for the time being but she would need to apply a fresh batch come morning. "Roll over so I can get to your legs." She said and waited for the stallion to comply.
As he did so she grabbed out some more herbs and berries from her satchel and began to crush and mix them. Applying the paste to a few leaves Aquitaine placed them on the cuts, ensuring that they were first cleaned and that there was an even coat of the healing salve. Finally she pulled two more berries out of the pack. "Here eat these, they will keep the pain at bay to allow you a full nights sleep." She said and placed the berries in front of him.
Prism ate enough to satisfy his hunger. He could have probably ate more but felt like what he got into him was good for now. He rolled over as Aquitaine instructed him to do and waited for her to apply the salve to his other legs. When she was done he gingerly rolled back onto his stomach and ate the berries.
"Get some sleep." She told the stallion. "I will be here if you wake and need something." She watched him for a short while making sure he fell asleep without any issue. Once he was asleep, Aquitaine ate a bit more grass, knowing she needed to keep her strength up and then took stock of her herb supply. She had enough for another day or two, but after that she would need to gather more, or send Ipswich to do it. With her belly full Aquitaine settled down beside Prism and began her night watch shift over the injured stallion and her daughter.
